***Will had his first season of baseball this year and he already has started his second season! I wanted to do a little video for him because…well…this might be the thing he talks about when he gets old. His glory days if you will 🙂 I made it in iMovie and all the clips were just videos from our phones…some of the photos were with our camera phones and then others were with our DSLR.
Dear Will….
WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU! You said after every game that you tried your best and you had fun and hearing that makes us so happy! We loved watching you play! You really improved too and are super fast. Have you been eating faster-beans again?! We are so happy when you try new things and this baseball season was scary and new but you put your brave face on and tried hard and we think that is the best! Our favorite part of the season was watching you hustle and SLIDE and how you shared your treats with your little brothers. They enjoyed that too! We love you so so so much baby!

That was awesome. Yeah Will! I don’t know how you pick which pictures to frame around your house. You have so many special moments captured. You have a really good eye. The one with Weston off to the side of the team photo is priceless. Great job on the video. Thanks for sharing. It was too cute.

wonderful…..makes me sad I couldn’t use the tech to put my kids vids together
Jenna says
Love this! Couldn’t help but get a little teary-eyed thinking about when my two grow older and the memories. Such a great way to capture everything.
Random question, I’m looking to upgrade my DSLR from a rebel to a 60D or the like but was wondering from a lens perspective, what lens do you use mostly for these action shots of kids? I want to invest in a good lens for all future kiddo shots.

OMG this is just beautiful. Love everything about this. You can really see that he likes it. My favorite picture is the one with Will and his team and then the little brother looking on. So cute!!! It’s so important to go and support your siblings. He’s teaching them so much. Go you and your beautiful family.

What a sweet video! He’s going to cherish it when he gets older. This had me boohooing at my desk! Can I blame hormones when my baby boy is 12 months old? 😉

Why does this make me cry? I am that weird creepy follower who went back and read your blog from the beginning so seeing this made me happier than is rational! Love how he steps into the pitch!

Oh goodness!! I got teary and I only know you through this blog!! How sweet to watch him love to play so much and learn so much this year. I got so excited for all his hits. And the sheer joy you can see when he runs the bases. You are raising quite the little gentleman. Those freckles slay me. Thank you for sharing this with us. I am sure he will enjoy watching it for years to come. My baby girl is only 6 months old,… but I can’t wait to watch her grow and learn. 🙂

I cried. You have an incredibly loving, supportive family. Go Bowers!

There is no earthly reason for me to have cried during that (i dont technically know you or will, my son is only 2 so no baseball (or other major growing up) yet, I’m not a particularly sentimental person. But I am preggers, so i cried. A lot. So sweet.

It was so cool watching this. My next door neighbor’s was just starting out in baseball when I moved into my house in 2001. I watched her learn & grow over the years practicing across the street. She’s been to the Little Leauge World Series three times… once winning, once in 2nd place. When NeighborDad told me that she was only doing tennis this year (she’s a senior), I choked up just like he was.

2nd place on his first season? Go Will! I remember the hot days and long practices but it was all worth it. You captured the moments perfectly.

Well, you just convinced me that I want to be a boy mom. That video totally brought tears to my eyes and is such a nice memory for Will to have! I love how he always slides! Congrats on a great first year of baseball, Will!

This is priceless Katie. God bless his precious heart on how much he tried and how much he enjoyed it. He’s a good little runner. He will improve this year not being the youngest and not being his first year. I love how he slides into the bases! You will have so many good memories of going to games with having four boys! Keep up the documentation, because it will be so fun to look back and remember.
Katie says
Oh NO! I wonder why!

I use either a 50mm or a 24-70mm lens but I really want a good lens for action shots too…so if you find out one, let me know!

Yeah, so….I cried. I feel like I’ve watched Will grow up and he was so stankin cute running around that diamond that it got me thinking about how this is what life is all about. So much joy for everyone playing a simple game. Kids growing and learning. So sweet. Thank you for sharing. Wish I had you video editing skills…. Can you tell me how you turned down the volume so you could hear the video from time to time?
Great job Will! Chrissy

In iMovie, if you select on the clip in your timeline that you want to hear there are options at the top…click on the adjust…then there will be a megaphone thumbnail…select that one…then click the little box next to “lower volume of other clips” and make sure the volume of that clip is high enough to hear it!
