We are thrilled…no…beyond thrilled….completely and utterly soaring to announce the arrival of William Jackson Bower.

He was born on Thursday, April 8th, 2010 at 6:11 pm.  After 36 hours of natural laboring, Will was born via caesarean with a head full of dark hair.   Weighing in at 9 pounds 11 ounces, he claimed the title of the heaviest baby born in our hospital that day.  And he was 21 and a half inches long.

All we can say is that we are incredibly blessed.  And that I am 100% in love with our little boy.  And I can’t wait to share the birth story with you!

  139. He is so precious!! I was in labor for 15 hours, pushed for an hour and had an emergency c-section. I am actually so glad I went through all of it. I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything!

  143. p.s. I ended up having a c-section with my first baby, after having labored for a LONG time ( I can totally relate!). It wasn’t in my “plan” but I knew God was in control… and the most important prayer of mine was answered, my baby was healthy. 🙂

I remember having a drawer of newborn clothes that never fit with my first and my second grew out of them pretty fast.   186. Hey Mama! I’m so glad that you finally posted. I was starting to feel a bit weird how much I was checking in on you. You’ve been on my heart, girl. Will is beautiful. I understand the long labor ending up with C-section bit. It happened with my first too. You did so good though! I’m super proud of you for kicking it with the labor for that long. These babies just don’t want to come out sometimes, I think. My kids were on the larger side as well (both about 9lbs each) . . . I LOVED IT! They’re still delicate, but I wasn’t terrified to handle them. 😉 I look forward to hearing about the birth and all that, but PLEASE take all the time in the world to just gaze and love on your new little sweet boy and don’t stress at all about spending time on the blog. They grow up so fast. My little guy just turned 8 months (on Will’s b-day actually!) and he is a whopping 23 lbs already. You blink and this newborn stage is over. Seriously. Take lots of pics, yes, but take lots of naps with the little guy and kiss that gorgeous hair as much as you can. I’m getting all emo about this, sorry. I’m just seriously so happy for you. Very weird since I don’t even really “know” you. 😛 Anyway, WAY TO GO!! You did it. 🙂 And now the real fun begins. You’re going to love parenthood.
