After Will went trick-or-treating (also known as Baby-who-does-double-fisted-grabs-at-candy-bowls-like-a-diabetic-squirrel-after-a-candied-nut), I knew that his fingers were ready for his first crayon experience.
I wouldn’t exactly call it coloring. It was more like a percussion recital…but the paper was his drum. And then he would attempt to eat the drumstick.
It was really fun to watch Will actually do a craft. Funny. Seven months ago I would never have thought he would be doing a fun little activity so soon. My how my little moo-cow has grown 🙂
I love these baby fingers. Compared to other babies, he has huge paws. Maybe that means he will be tall. Maybe that means he’ll be chunky like his mama. Maybe that just means that he has big hands.
Whatever it means, I know that I will cherish this picture.
Can’t wait to frame it with his name & the date. Original by Will Bower. Age – 7 months 2 days.
Watch out Picasso, there is a new sheriff in town….
this is precious. =)
you have quite an adorable little offspring, and your humor is a nice pick me up in the morning.
thanks kb
awww, I hope you framed this 🙂
So wonderful!
You could try the chunky crayons, too. Those are a bit easier to grab with those adorable hands and fingers.
When my daughter first started playing with crayons, she unbeknown to me, ate a red one. It came out the other end, and I freaked when I saw the red in her diaper. After a very embarrassing trip the Dr. I found out that they don’t break down in the digestive system, and are completely harmless. Enjoy him since they grow so fast.
Awww… what an adorable drawing Will made. Definitely a keeper!!
That is a really cute idea! He looks like he enjoyed it!
Too cute! I agree with Elyse, looks like he had fun 🙂
So cute. A tip from a mom with a four year old. Spring for the my first ones (crayola of course) they are super chunky and longer and easier for those hands. My little one use to snap the regular crayons until I got those. They also make some called crayola beginnings (think cute weeble wooble looking creatures that hold a crayon). They carry them at Target (and lots of other places I’m sure) but I bought them there. See below for the cuteness.

Aww, I just love this. Definitely a framer 😉 I gave my baby cousins, some paper, a frame and those crayola wobbly dudes (listed above) as a gift. I think it’s so cute to frame little baby artwork!
WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! such cuteness can KILL! Adorableeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee OMG
He’s adorable! And Katie, you are NOT chunky!
I love the cute little outfits you choose for him.
So cute! How in the world are you chunky?
So sweet 🙂 I have a few pieces of my girls artwork framed at our house. When my youngest was about 2 years old she drew a picture of herself on my recently painted taupe walls with a turquoise sharpie (and yes – daddy was on kid duty at the time, NOT me). I couldn’t get it off the walls, so I put a frame around it. I think that ended up being my favorite drawing – LOL! People always got a kick out of it 🙂 I was so upset when we moved and I couldn’t take it with me.
If only Picasso had worn a cow suit with a pacifier. Would’ve totally capitalized on the eccentric artist image. Your son’s a cutie.
Emily – trust me…I look good with clothing on.

Thanks Alicia for the recommendation! I thought for sure he wouldn’t be able to pick up the regular crayon…but surprisingly, he didn’t seem to have any trouble with it. It must be due to the fact I let him play with matches. jk.

You crack me up every post!
I love the picture where he is trying to eat the crayon.
When my dad was finishing the basement in the house I grew up in many years ago (I was about three) I drew him a “masterpiece” while he was working and he stuck it in the wall when when he was drywalling. Due to some structural problems in our basement, we recently gutted the basement and poured a new floor (among thousands of dollars of other necessary renos…). He found the picture and it was a nice little reminder of my drawing skills in my little days. Which haven’t changed much. Anyway, you will definitely enjoy seeing that picture later on in life. 🙂

EEEEeeee he looks particularly squeezable today!! How awesome to experience his first work of art, hehe.
This will be so precious framed in your house.

Hey Katie! Where did you get Will’s cow sleeper? I must have one for my little bambino!
Hi Annie,
I got it last fall at Baby Gap – it’s moo cute, huh?

Love it! There might be some good stocking stuffers for your budding artist here:

I don’t know about Will as a budding Picasso, but those sure look like the hands of a quarterback to me.
KatieQ – you sound like Jeremy. xo – kb
So cute! Every time I see pictures of your bundle of joy, I can’t help but think that he looks eerily like my little guy Max (10 months old), he just started “drawing” as well. I love watching his little chubby hands at work!
