Still no signed contract.
Our real estate agent told us not to worry though…quote. things are fine. unquote.
It’s hard to wait. We are such do it and do it now kinda people.
We did hear one piece of news…the dream-house had another offer come in on it. At first, we had that dreaded stomach-drop feeling…you know the one…like when you get a phone call that someone you love has been in an accident…or like when you watch a movie and you just know that the two lovers are going to be ripped apart (well, that’s not really it..but you know). It’s that sense of worry that pulls your lungs down into the pit of your belly. We had that. Just for a split second.
You see… when the offer came in…we knew it would…we prayed that if we weren’t supposed to have this house that God would slam the door shut. Well, He did the opposite. So far. The seller’s agent told the agent who was making the other offer that the house is under contract. I mean, we have nothing signed yet. But apparently the seller’s agent didn’t want to do more paperwork. So we are NOT going into a highest&best bidding war….as of right now. Awesome, huh?
We still aren’t outta the woods yet. We try to never count our chickens before they hatch. The house still has to pass a slew of inspections…and we still have our house to sell/rent. Anyone out there interested? Pretty please?! It’s pretty cool if I do say so myself 🙂
But we aren’t worrying. Well, we aren’t letting ourselves worry too much. It slips in every now and again. In the mean time, we are doing a little bit of this:
and this:
and this:
and a little of this:
and working with a little bit of this:
and this:
and doing a whole lotta this:
Waiting isn’t so bad 🙂 I’ll let you know if we hear anything else. Keep those prayers & positive thoughts coming! We appreciate each and every one!

Im not a very patient person either…waiting is torture for me. But whats that old saying? “good things come to those who wait”…? And I believe it to be true.
Your picture of Wills-little-chubby-baby-hands-that-I-could-eat reminded me of a photog question I had for you. I know you prefer to shoot in natural light, but with the winter months approaching, and below freezing temps hitting us way up in NH, I was hoping you could give me some tried and true tips for taking photos indoors, at night. With Christmas coming up, there are going to be lots of indoor evening parties and gatherings and I was hoping you had some tips foe us amatuers.
Thanks Katie! Fingers and toes crossed for great house news!

I’ll keep praying with fingers crossed!

Katie, I’d also love some indoor photography tips. Do you use an external flash? I have one on my wishlist for my birthday (in April) and I’m wondering if you use one and if so, which model?
I’m away at work nearly 12 hours a day so I’m only home at night (except on weekends). I just got my new camera, but I’m always stuck with indoor shots with artificial lighting.
As always, I enjoy your photos.

I LOVE that last picture of you & Will! Did the BF take it?? Very adorable

It amazes me how much Will looks like Jeremy! It’s just precious!
And I’m talking about your family like we’re BFF. That’s a little sad. haha

I just have to say that that last picture of you and Will has got to be the most adorable thing I’ve seen in ages. I love that you can clearly see how much you adore one another!

Katie,
You and Jeremy are in my thoughts and prayers. We went through the same thing and now we are living in our dream home south of Atlanta. Things always work themselves out. In the meantime you seem to be having a great time keeping busy!
PS I love the last picture of you and Will!

Thanks.

I have officially spent the last two days {at work} looking through Zillow and dreaming of a house for when we can actually move in two years. If I do this for the next 730 days (2 years), I’m gunna go insane! But I’m so glad you mentioned the site- it will be very helpful when we do move 🙂
P.S. Good luck with the house! We had to play the waiting game to. Instant gratification is a no-go in the home ownership world 🙁

The first photo reminds me of a Christmas card pose we did when my youngest was a baby…both kids in Hannah Andersson striped pj’s with a string of lights!!

It’s like you’re experiencing your own personal Advent right now. Waiting …

I’m praying for you Katie… hope you get some news soon… buying and selling houses just messes with your emotions something terrible!
Meanwhile, I’m still trying to get my head around my two fave blogs both moving into new houses!! Wild…. can’t wait to follow the new adventures of you guys and the Petersiks 🙂

Can I just tell you that I feel your pain? Because I do. We lost one house on a foreclosure highest-and-best situation (that we lost by…get this…$150.00), dealt with 2 short sales (long story, but seller wouldn’t sign b/c our offer wasn’t high enough to be accepted by the bank), and one listed “foreclosure” that was listed wrong and was supposed to be offered as a cash-auction.
Now we’re on house offer #5. It sucks. It’s like being on pins and needles all night long. Like having a bad dream where you know you’ll wake up at some point, but you just don’t know when.
OK, that’s all a bit dramatic, but you understand. No. I understand.
So go! Live life! Pray! And Have fun! It’ll all work out if it’s meant to be (and I know how cliche that sounds…so I’m letting you know that it’s all with complete sincerety…and a little snarkiness ;-)…)

That first picture is SO cute. It seriously looks like something you would see on the front of a Christmas card!

Dude. My in-laws live in Gwinnett County, and I seriously wish we could live closer to them, especially when we start having bambinos. I have a hunch you’re in that area because of the corn maze. 🙂 Right now we’re in middle GA because that’s where we could get the best jobs, but if we were looking in your area I would tooootally love your house. Your house is so nicely staged that I know you’ll have an offer in no time!
Liz Younger says
Katie,
I have to admit that I’ve been blog stalking you for some time now and I love your blog! I know how you feel, we just put an offer in on our first house last night at 5:30… The house went on the market the night before and already had three showings. To say the least I didn’t sleep last night. I wish you and your family the best!

Just came across your blog and I’m trying to figure out what area of suburban Atlanta you’re in. I’m in Fayette county…we’re coming up on our one-year anniversary and we just LOVE it. We found our dream home; it was a foreclosure, too. Hope all works out well for you. Good luck!
