I need a new coat. All my others are either too light weight or I got in college (which usually means that they are one to three sizes too small). I never gained the freshman fifteen…I lost weight when I went away to school. The food just couldn’t compete with mom’s…plus there were other funner things to do – like follow cute boys around and hope they spit out their gum so I could peel it off the asphalt sidewalk and stick it in my collection…it was alphabetized…and in chronological order…and sorted by flavor…go ahead, ask me how I found out what was peppermint 🙂
Back to the coat issue – the cold weather finally hit Georgia…which is nice because now the winter actually feels like winter (minus snow or anything remotely romantic like that). And then my friend Vicky – most people know her as Victoria – sent me a great code to knock an additional 50% off my coat purchase. Gotta love Vicky!
So now I need your help – vote for one of the following to let me know which coat I should get. Oh and fyi – I need to know what color too!!! I don’t have a black one – so keep that in mind.
Option #3 – comes in black, winter white & lipstick red Originally $170 – on sale for $80 (only $40 after discount)
-
Single-breasted. Double breasted makes me look like a linebacker for the GreenBay Packers.
-
Slit pockets. Bulky, obvious or square pockets located directly on my pelvic region make me look really hippy and not that flashing-peace-signs-and-tie-dye-my-bell-bottoms-kinda hippy.
-
No belts. I really don’t have much of a waist…it’s like my ribs end and my hip bones are half an inch below them…doesn’t leave a whole lotta room for a slim midsection. Belts are just wasted on me…they don’t make me look like I have a waist…they just add additional fabric and make me look wider in the midsection region. yikes.

Hey, happy Tuesday..I like number 3! Number one reminded me of a dress. Number two didnt leave a mark, but 3 is still hanging around in my brain…hmmmm..You know express has all their coats on sale plus 30%. Thats how I bought mine a while back.

I vote for #2 in Winter White!! I love the cut of this coat and I think Winter White looks super chic in the winter! What a great price too!! That’s my two cents:)
Kim & Ryan says
#2 for sure. And, I think winter white would be most versatile – goes with black, white, navy, grey….. =)
hopeful #1 says
I like #2 & #3. The have a great look and I don't particularly like the collar on #1.
Great choices though!
*claire* says
I like #1.
My sis has a coat that syle, and it looks so cute.
Also, I vote for white. I got a white coat last year, and it is my favorite! It matches basically everything, which is good for me, since I am too rushed in the morning to debate which color coat matches.
However, I really want to get a red coat. So who knows.

Number 3!! I have one nearly identical to that picture, color and all. I’m completely obsessed with the collar – it keeps me so toasty and looks so chic. Love it.
As far as color – I think any of the three options are a winner. They are all very versatile. Like I said above, mine is winter white. It’s been easy to keep clean so far, but I also have 3 other winter coats, so I don’t wear it every day.
Heidi says
I like #2 the best. It has some detailing at the waist which will keep it from looking like a blob. Plus, it isn’t as long as #1. I think a shorter coat would be more functional in Georgia.
*jAcLyN* says
I say #2. I like the button and waist detail on it. #1 is just to cutesy and I think the neck on #3 would get really annoying. I would say go for black since you don’t have one. As far as I am concerned you can never go wrong with black.
Freckles says
#2 in white! It’s classy and timeless. And the nipped in waist detail gives it structure. Reminds me of something my style icon Audrey H. would wear.
The Rauths says
#3 would look amazing on you! that high collar and your hair…lovely!
LyndsAU says
I like all 3. But I am IN LOVE with the 3rd one. I have been eyeing it all season!!
Mrs. Limestone says
They are all cute but I’d go for #3. My current coat has that stand up collar thing and its awesome being able to turn it up when its cold and turn it down when you don’t need so much protection from the wind. A scarf never gets close.
Lindsay says
Totally number #3! I love the neck!
homeinthecities says
Looks like I’m in the minority… I like #1. And I’d go for cobalt or black, because, if you’re anything like me, you’ll accidentally rub up against a dirty car or spill something on an all-white coat within a week of getting it.
Molly says
I love number three- I’ve had my eye on it for awhile! $40 is a steal!
J says
I like #2
Alyssa says
My vote is for #2. Although I love.love.love the neck/collar on #3 I’m not diggin the “ding-dong” bell shape of the bottom. But maybe that’s just my hips talking 😉
Any any color would be fab!
Darby says
#3 has my vote! {and not just because it’s the cheapest!}
MrsRoy says
I vote for #2, and although I love the white, I’ve never had to guts to actually buy a white coat for fear of getting it dirty… and since you don’t have a black one, I think you should get it in black. I love the cut of this coat, with the slight empire waist and the buttons. I stalk the VS winter coats all the time- someday I’ll actually buy one!!
SweDaisy says
I like 2 or 3. 2 has a faux belt so it gives you the illusion of a waist line. I like 3 cause no matter how much stuffing and turkey you ate at Christmas, you still look good 🙂
Take care,
Lisa
Michael says
#2. Cause I know these things. LOL 🙂
20-Something Superhero says
My favorite of the bunch would have to be #2. The princess seaming on it is so much more flattering. Plus, with it being slimmer fitting, it would make you look slimmer, plus you wouldn’t have to worry about it blowing open at the bottom, with every gust of wind. If it were me, I’d probably get it in both white and black, which is what I do have… But if I had to choose only one, then black, cause you can never go wrong with a great fitting black coat. When fitted properly, they have a way of looking really tailored and expensive, and who doesn’t love that.
Katie says
BUMMER – DANG IT – BUMMER.
Wanna know what blows?
Going to Vickys to get #2 in white and seeing that they don’t have any available.
Know what else?
Going to Vickys to get #2 in black and seeing that they don’t have any available.
WHY FREAKING LIST IT ON YOUR WEBSITE IF ITS NOT AVAILABLE?! WHY MAKE ME GO TO ALL THE TROUBLE OF ADDING IT TO MY SHOPPING BAG BEFORE YOU TELL ME THAT YOU DON”T HAVE IT IN STOCK!?!
they have a word for this – it is ‘suck’. So it is either red or gray for #2 people…red or gray. #1 is still available in all colors. #3 is too. So all you #1-ers, if you changed your mind, come back and revote…
eternally yours,
XO – Katie

I’m liking #3. There’s something about the collars that are bothering me . . . but then again, I’m weird.
Jen M says
PLEASE tell me you are joking about the gum. Please.
Okay, the coats (chiming in late, so takie it FWIW): I think #1 looks great on a stick thin model but on anyone human the pleats would = unflattering big hips. But it might be worth trying it on. LOVE #2, absolutely classic. Bummer they don’t have it in black or white, but grey is fabulous and what I’d go for anyway. #3 is cute but the collar would bug me personally, esp with a scarf.
As for colour, I always think winter white looks so classy but not sure how practical the maintenance, black is nice but a bit same-as-everyone-else (at least over here) so grey gets my vote.
Mrs. McB says
I like all of the coats. The first option seems very formal and the third more casual. I would probably go for three.
Mrs. 5C says
#2!!!
And you’ll have to post pictures and tell us how much you love it. I’ve been dreaming about a Victoria Secret coat for 3 years now. Every year, I think… ok… just one more winter! 😉
Katie says
You guys are just gonna wanna kill me…seriously. I threw caution to the wind. I also had to sell my husband on a human-trafficing website but I have ordered a new coat…and not just one 🙂
More to come in February – oh – more to come when I hear from Vicky!!
XO – Katie
Kelly says
I love that your ribs and hip bones are so close – mine actually are less than an inch apart! No waist at all… but my legs are super long, so I guess that makes up for it. 🙂
roberta says
Number one 🙂
