I am a magazine junkie. I love em. I can’t help it.
They aren’t complicated like books. They are simple. Easy to read. Easy to put down to chase after a baby. Easy to give as gifts and as a personal treat and to tuck under my arm when I’m headed into the bathroom. You just shouldn’t do that with a book. Seinfeld fans agree. And being a mag hag, I can’t help but share when a good deal on them comes along…(remember my $5 Magazines post? or my BHG post? )…so that is why I thought you should know, something about this one caught my eye…
Oh la la.
And it got my tractor wheels turning.
And a turning.
And then finally I saw this cover and I was done. Dee. Oh. Un.
It’s no secret that I want a garden so bad I can practically taste the fresh veggies. And right now Amazon is runnin’ a pretty darn good deal…Two years of Organic Gardening (that’s 24 issues) for $12 + free shipping. That’s fifty cent an issue. Gardening may not be for everyone…but hey, I figure there’s a bunch of other stuff in there too (like I saw on their website an article on taking better pictures of your garden!).
I just ordered and figure that you may wanna jump on this good deal too….because it’s a one day special.
Organic Gardening Magazine 2-years
(oh and I’ll put the link in the wishlist just in case you have to wait till you are off work to order)
Ally says
I had a look and it says ” Issues: 12 issues / 24 months”, so it must come out every 2mths, and the deal includes 12 instead of 24 mags…? Anyway, still a good deal, thanks for sharing!
brianne @ the ravenna girls says
Ooh, considering the time i spend googling for organic gardening advice, and how much i’d like to think my time is worth, this is a bargain! off to check it out. . .

NO WAY! I just found out about this mag. today when I was on my monthly ( I’d say weekly but I don’t want to sound TOO addicted) magazine run at boarders. I almost took it home but felt bad about getting BHG, Living, AND this one too. I think I might have to subscribe to it now though. lol. Its nice to see another mag. junkie out there. plus, you just cant cut out home design ideas from a book without feeling really really bad. Keep up the reading and enjoy the views. 😛
Amy says
Yeah, it looks like it is 12 issues over 2 years, but still a good price. Thanks Katie, I just ordered a subscription for my mom!
Ann says
Just be careful with all subscriptions and based on an Amazon review this might be one of them: they set you up for automatic renewal as opposed to asking if you want to renew and waiting for you to pay.
Jennifer says
I wish I had room for a garden. We are in a townhome and just don’t have room. Our entire postage stamp sized yard is dedicated to small children and dogs. I get by with a few containers of herbs on the front porch and a trip to the farmers market every Sunday 🙂 Enjoy your new magazine!
Erika...with a K says
You have me sold…. I want that magazine… I love mags too!!!
Jessica says
Thanks, Katie! I just ordered it for my mom. She’ll love it!
Lindsey says
Thank you so much for the info! I ordered it and can’t wait. I have tons of plants in my yard and tons of herbs and I’ve recently gone all organic and I love it!!
Emily says
I too love mags! Also, I have been itching to plant some veggies but it is still too cold here in Northern IN. Living in an apartment we also don’t have the land for an actual garden so we are going the potted route. Hopefully we can be successful. I just want some nice juicy tomatoes! 🙂 Thanks for sharing this link, I just bought mine!
Katie says
I’m hoping that the magazine has information on container gardening too…heavens knows I need to start small 🙂

I looked at this, and it looks to me like there are two options you could buy for the $11.97 price… one is the 2-year automatic renewal and one is not. Just need to be careful to not buy the automatic renewal version, and hopefully they won’t bully you! I too read the more recent reviews concerning that and was slightly disturbed.
Katie says
Oh you are right Amy! Hmmph. Hear that follks – they are a dollar an issue.
And you will get them every other month…I guess if it is good, then it’s worth waiting for…

This is a FANTASTIC magazine. My husband and I have been reading it for years, and it’s one of our favorites. We love gardening, and we keep learning new tips and tricks from this magazine. Yay for everyone wanting to start a garden! It’s a great hobby!!
Laura@JourneyChic says
I really wish we had space for a proper garden! I hear you about the magazine addition. It all started with Teen and YM way back in the day. Now I just added Traditional Home to my mailbox, and picked up Martha and InStyle at the bookstore the other day. I don’t have time to read them, but they make my coffee table pretty (and sometimes messy).
Maggie @ Cheneyhome says
I can’t wait to see what you do with your garden. We have a lot of plans for our exterior this year, and I’m already overwhelmed just thinking about it!
Kristina says
I am gearing up for my second gardening season. Last year I started with two 4×4 beds. This year we are adding one more. Gardening is fun, plus it counts as a workout!
Julie says
So disappointed….got all the way to the end and then it says…..CANNOT SHIP TO CANADA!! Story of my life!
Katie says
Ooh bummer Julie. I never even think of that.

Sorry for the randomness… This is not about magazines but did you know about Baconfest in Atl this weekend?

Word! I’d like to say I’d get this, but nothing can be done for my lack of skills. I plant and kill every summer. Finding the right plants/flowers for Colorado are a challenge…and I fail! 🙂 I love the pictures though. They are inspiring.
Erin says
Yay! Thanks for sharing. My husband has quite the green thumb while I tend to kill plants, so hopefully this will be helpful when we can actually plant our garden in Northern Michigan (it snowed yesterday and is a high of 27 today…woooo).
Lyndsay @ Mr. & Mrs. says
i ordered it! thank you so much 🙂 we just bought a house last Spring, but it was too hectic to begin any kind of gardening for this past Summer. It’s the first thing on my list for this Spring though! My hubby is going to construct some kind of a raised bed system for me. Can’t wait to have fresh veggies!
Kaitlin says
Thanks so much for sharing Katie! I’m a mag junkie too- all those delicious photos are just to die for!
If you ever wanna browse small gardening ideas or chat gardening I discuss it a lot on my personal blog ’cause its a passion of mine.
I know you don’t have a lot of spare time these days, but dang browsing is fun anyways!
Elisa says
We’re in the process of chaning our lawn over to organic, and the mag’s promises of organic rose gardening just did me in. And hey, if I get a year to soak up all the non-plant-killing goodness (brown thumb family right here) by 2012 I can have a totally beautiful garden!
Thanks!
Christine B says
Umm i have a black thumb so if I tried to grow veggies they would prob. be toxic. Recently garden gones have started to appear in my husband and mines front yard and I am pretty sure the neighbors are doing it to make fun of all our dead plants we so strived to grow. Ooo well. And lastly I so love the senifield reference. =)

the Cutting Edge…haha what a wonderfully awful movie. I think the only reason i’ve seen it is b/c is was one of a few movies (VHSs) in my high school theatre green room, where we ate lunch and hid from the cool kids in the cafeteria, haha. 100 points, score!
I agree about the pjs. My son (20months)has some of the most random pj designs. Osh Kosh has some cute ones. Snore-a-saurus Island was a favorite. And I can’t forget the bugs, who wouldn’t want to go to bed with pjs covered in bugs!?
hmm this might be my first comment here, i’m a fairly new follower and love your funny comments and pictures!

uhhh..why did my comment appear on this post…doh. it was supposed to go on Monkey Spaceship post, haha
