Wahoo! It’s summer! I can’t believe it’s almost over and I have yet to bombard you with pool photos. That is our favorite activity this summer and we are super excited that we get to swim whenever we want over at Nana & Pappap’s house. Where we live a lot of people have to pay to join a neighborhood pool or a swim club or pay to get into a park pool….so to have access to a free pool is pretty awesome. The kids love it and Will is getting to be quite the little fish! And of course Jeremy and I love it because it wears the kids out! Extra parenting points if your kids sleep at night!
It was a long six weeks to wait but finally Max and I got cleared by our doctors to take a dip and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course I was that paranoid mom that threatened the lives of anyone that even thought about splashing our little guy (who is not so little…he’s already in 3-6 month clothing!!!) and immediately rinsed the salt water off of him but I think he was a little mad that his first water-adventure was short-lived.
And let me tell you who is the real fish….no…not Jeremy…I mean, he’s a decent swimmer but that’s beside the point 🙂 That little LJ may have a name that means Brave as a Lion but most cats don’t like diving in like this dude. He is FEARLESS….which of course, scares me to death. He loves jumping off the side to whoever will catch him and going under is his favorite. Watch out Michael Phelps…there is a new water junkie in town.
Weston…not so much. He is relatively a shore-hugger. He likes splashing on the shelf and throwing toys in but generally he is more timid about the pool. BUT put him in the hot tub and he burns off the energy like crazy! Weston is our little reminder for snack time….as in, he brings us the basket and threatens to dump it all out if we don’t come feed him immediately. He takes that job very seriously.
We generally try to eat dinner at my mom’s house (we figure that if we wear them out, then eat, we can change them directly into jammies and then if they fall asleep on the way home, it’s so easy to just transfer them to bed) but we always have to bring snacks with us. Recently we discovered that the big boys LOVE to pick out the NatureBox snacks and they are super easy to pack for the pool.
We log on the site and let them scroll till they pick the picture. After it comes in the mail, we just dump our entire NatureBox delivery into the pool snack carrier and throw in a box of drinks and we are ready for a very long afternoon of swimming.
Do you see my Weston? Didn’t even bother taking off the life jacket before digging in.
And I like the fact that the bags look the same….no fighting over the bag with the cartoons.
If you don’t know what NatureBox is….well, you don’t read my blog because I sing their praises to whoever will listen. They are a snack delivery company that makes these better-for-you and delicious boxes of goodness. You can go to their site and sign up and then pick your snacks you want to try(you’ll even get your first box on them). They have over 100+ to choose from and they add new snacks each month so…yeah….lots of options. Then it gets delivered to your house…ready for eating. It’s so easy and convenient. You can pick the box size and delivery frequency, change, pause or cancel your subscription at any time. It’s funny because now I get giddy excited about the new snacks that are coming…it’s filled with stuff I just can’t get at my local supermarket and they are all made with high-quality ingredients you can trust.
But this time we let the little guys choose and let me tell ya…LJ’s favorites were the mini belgium waffles.
He wouldn’t even let me hold the bag.
And our little water monkey actually did come in to steal a treat or two before heading back into the water.
Yup. Nothing better than a recipe for a night long of sleep!
Well…maybe one thing….FREE SNACKS!
