By the time you read this, I will be officially experiencing the longest pregnancy I have ever had without labor starting or my water breaking. That whole myth about successive babies coming sooner because the slip-n-slide is soaked? Let me introduce you world to my weirdo body. I’ve tried every doctor-approved labor-inducing urban myth there is. Nada.
So I sit and wait.
And if you are as bored as I am, here is the Sunday Funday post to keep you occupied for a solid three minutes…four if you are a slow reader. In case you are new to Bower Power, Sunday Funday is a little recap of six different oldie projects from the archives and two favorite posts from some bloggers I love….and follow….and love to follow. Be sure to share the sappy love with those bloggers…because the love is always due 🙂

Remember how I told y’all about Creating With the Stars? Well, I was lucky enough to be paired with Shannon from AKA Design + Life. I honestly feel like it’s a weird surreal experience because she is a blog star in her own right and there isn’t much I can add to her projects (except being a fantastic cheerleader that does a mean round-off hurkey). So here’s what I need from you guys….
first…check out Shannon’s site.
Secondly…the competition has officially begun and you can go vote! Every contestant sent in their first anonymous ‘knock-off’ project and we all get to choose what is our favorite project. There are some mean prizes at stake y’all…and I know that all the contestants worked really REALLY hard to do their best. I would love for Bower Power readers to unload on EC2 and show them that you guys are a force to be reckoned with. Go! Vote! And wish Shannon the best of luck!

I can’t get over the baby photo is Will and not Weston. I didn’t even question that wasn’t Weston until I saw the story in your link.

You poor thing – my last pregnancy was my longest too. My daughter arrived on her actual due date, where my boys were nearly a week early. So, in my mind, I felt totally overdue by the time she was born. A week in your last month of pregnancy is like a month in pregnancy time, right? I decided to paint my bedroom, and that got thing moving – have you tried that? 😉
Great links! Must see the oversized photo idea!

Well Katie, I don’t have too much to add this morning… I just want to say hang in there! You’re a trooper for sticking it out this long and I think it’s amazing that you’re waiting for your baby to come naturally.
XOXO

I am 13 months into cloth diapering. Did you cloth for Weston and/or plan on for LJ? Love their big booties in cloth and the cute pattern/colors!
I also dont follow all the crazy rules for CD either, but hey its all working out for me too 🙂

The cloth diaper info is great! We are still trying to figure out our routine with our 3 month bambino. It’s nice to hear someone else broke some of the “cloth diaper rules” and didn’t have their diapers spontaneously combust!

Thank you so much Katie for the shout out! I honestly hope you have that little one soon – it is SO hard being “late”!!!

I know how you feel! I was induced 11 days after my due date. The morning of the induction I was still 0 centimeters dilated. Hang in there!!! Maybe today is the day ?! I’ll be thinking of you and LJ.
Amanda K. @ Living on Grace says
ugh. i was late with #1 and was talking about it with my doctor while pregnant with #2. he said that there’s no study that shows that subsequent babies come earlier.
(and my sister was early with 1 & 2 and late with 3 &4.)
i also did some research and found out that science shows that NONE of the old wives tales work. and i just get grumpy past my due dates so i’m like, “i REFUSE to try spicy food/running up a hill/sex/herbal tea because it’s not going to work anyway and i’m going to be pregnant forever!”
you seem like you’re faring a bit better than me 🙂
can’t wait to meet lj.

I have gone over 11, 12, and 14 days successively with each of my kids so I feel your pain!! It seems like for-ev-ah but in reality your sweet baby will be here soon!
Stephanie S. says
Have you thought of acupuncture? Just a thought 😉 I’m sure baby will come when baby is ready! 🙂

Darlin Katie, #3 was the longest wait for me too. Poor dear, I think he and I were perhaps a bit more ..tired? . . than we expected. Since comments are short today, I’m going to say that even though the urban myths don’t always work, (I walked and walked and walked and walked . . ) some of them are so much fun that they are worth squeezing into the schedule, and the best one can be sleep inducing (wink). Perhaps enlist a mom friend or Grandma to take on boy duty for an afternoon and take a pregnant nap – you don’t even really have to sleep, just curl up with a good book and rest and you will feel a bit rejuvenated. No tv. Maybe some very soft music playing from the other room so it won’t wake you if you do drift off . .It is amazing how after lunch with no boys in the house, a full stomach of something YOU wanted to eat and a book will feel pretty luxurious and restful at this point. Don’t be shy to ask a friend, they will be more than happy to do it for you . .plan ahead with something in the crockpot so you don’t even have to rush at dinner, just wake up in time, receive the little ones back and slap it on the plates . . it may be the last time you are alone for months.

Hi Katie this has nothing to do with cloth diapers I just wanted to tell you about an observation I had . Back when you had a talk with Will about his room you posted a picture of his crib wall. The picture of the “Girl with a broom” looked familiar to me. I’ll be showing my age with this next sentence, that is the same picture that hung next to the front door on the old series Bewitched. Thats all, I just thought it was kinda cool.
Hope all goes well with LJ’s delivery.

Awww! He looks just like a merbaby! So cute!

Hi Katie – Have you tried the Eggplant Parm at Scalini’s in Atlanta? It’s an urban myth that will bring on labor, they even have the recipe online! 🙂
Kati says
I thought that was the new baby since I only looked at pictures first!!!! Got excited for you. Still praying & checking insta maddeningly. 🙂

I also appreciated the cloth diaper info! I’m planning on using cloth with our baby who is due in just 3 weeks:) so I have to know how it’s going after baby 2 and are you still planning on doing this with baby 3? How are the diapers holding up now? I’m sure you have more CD wisdom now…I would love to hear more (you know in all your free time
Katie says
Well, we did not do it with Weston…only Will. We did attempt the cloth at first with Weston but his ‘exports’ were very different than what a normal kid should have (extreme blowouts each and every time)…so we just stored the cloth and did the disposables with him. So all our diapers are still in great shape 🙂

I heard that. I don’t like Eggplant Parm (tried it with Will but it didn’t work) so it’s one of those things that I am willing to forego 🙂

I looked into it…but our insurance didn’t cover it so I decided not to go for it. I’ve heard it works for some people!

We didn’t cloth with Weston but we do hope to try again with LJ. We also plan on using them for potty training Weston (when the time comes) so I’m glad they are adjustable 🙂
