(my apologies if this post only seems funny to those related to me)
The title of this post reminds me of one of my sister’s exboyfriends. You see, my sister dated this boy a few years ago and he was A HOTTIE. Even Jeremy says so. He was tall, dark and handsome…I wish I had a photo then you would see his hotness. One summer day, my whole family all went down to the pool and he took his shirt off. Yes…every eye in the vicinty was on him…every person was holding their breath. Waiting. Hoping. Anticipating the hotness. The men were cursing him under their breath. And the hotness was there. chiseled abs. great chest. broad shoulders. And then we saw something else. a line. it was a line of hair. No…it wasn’t a ‘treasure trail’ or whatever you call them. It did not extend from his belly button down. Oh no no. It extended upward. It was a thin line of perfectly straight and precisely shaved and shaped black hair that extended from his belly button up to the center of his sternum. I literally had to gag myself from busting out laughing.
That evening my brother casually asked Norn about ‘the line’. She just laughed and shrugged. Then my brother suggested taking the kids to the pool again the next day and having them sport some black eyeliner on their stomach…you know, to see if Hottie would notice. (Oh how I wish that would have been made a reality.) Immediately after this conversation took place, Hottie walked into the room to join in the card game with us. (Note…in our family, when we play cards, we choose rapper names for ourselves…it’s a weirdly fun tradition…I’m Special K) Since this was the first time he had ever played cards with my fam, we chose a rapper name for him. Appropriately it was “Striped Delight”.
Here is our little striped delight. And I believe that this coming summer, I will be whipping out the eyeliner for Will when my family goes to the pool 🙂
p.s. Thank you so much for sharing yesterday about the baby belts and for searching for the paci. You just saved me hours of googling and etsying.

Little did Hottie know that when he read Men’s Cosmo that was not what they meant by the term “Landing Strip”.
