In a galaxy far far away, there lived a girl who loved all things Darth, Chewie and Millennium Falcon. Ok ok. It’s me. But you already know that. I’m a Star Wars fan by default….my dad thought the movies were cool….my older brother always wanted to watch them…so I was that little girl who loved ewoks and Princess Leia and Obe-Wan just as much as Rainbow Brite, She-Ra and Barbies. And I take passing that love on to my kids very seriously….
Isn’t that little Will…err…Master Yoda just too cute?!
And Jeremy even tolerates my love of all things Star Wars by dressing up as my number 2….or when I like the rug in my kids room because yes, it does look like a Yoda profile. Even our dog – Bear….his technical name is Chewbacca Sugarbear. Tough and sweet that one 🙂
So I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite Star War inspired DIY’s from the vast galaxy known as the internet.
Let’s start with this room from Savannah from Classy Clutter. Those girls are so talented and this theme is perfect for a little boy’s room. Here is the direct link to the room reveal.
You can make these simple no-sew Jedi in training costumes for all your little ones. This project is by Sara at MomEndeavors. Here is the link to the post.
I met sweet Amy from Her Tool Belt this past week and love her take on the Tie Interceptor shelf. She calls it a Star Wars shelf….but we use technical terms in our house….not for body parts but definitely for Star Wars starfighters 🙂 Here is the link and tutorial!
If you have been looking for an inexpensive way to make a Star Wars costume, here are complete DIY instructions on how to make this Boba Fett inspired helmet. It’s made from CARDBOARD. So cool.
A super easy and versatile idea is to makeover your painted globe into the Death Star! I have already painted a globe black (and yes it happened years ago when people made fun of me and called me stupid and threw rotten tomatoes)….so BOOM…this proves that even a black globe is TIMELESS. Great job to Pat at In My Wheele House! Here is the direct link!
Ashley at the blog Homemade with Ashley is obviously a big Star Wars nut too…because she made both this BB-8 Push toy and this adorable bookshelf. I mean….she is awesome.
And one of my favorite Star Wars infused rooms is from Erin Spain. She’s amazing and an Atlanta girl too 🙂 You need to follow her! I love how she incorporated her husbands’ taste into the artwork in her coffee bar makeover. The force is obviously strong with this one.
If you are looking just to incorporate some star wars into your life with the power of a debit card, here are some of my favorites (click the photo for direct shopping links)….
And I must wrap this up with the obvious….
MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU!!!!

Thanks so much for including my coffee bar! I love that your family is as Star Wars-obsessed as ours is. I’m currently working on a Star Wars bedroom for my two oldest boys! May the 4th be with you and your crew! 🙂

First, I want to say I enjoy your blog. I wouldn’t be here commenting if I didn’t! However, when talking about Savannah’s room, you said, “this theme is perfect for a little boy’s room.” It could also be perfect for a little girl’s room. As you are a self-proclaimed Star Wars geek, I don’t believe you think Star Wars rooms can’t be for girls. Maybe you said it because the specific room pictured was designed for a boy. Or maybe you said it because that’s just the sort of thing people say. However, as an engineer and sci-fi geek, this comment rubbed me the wrong way. I’ve become very conscious of the unconscious things we say that imply certain things are only for boys, even when that is not at all our intention or something we believe. So I would just ask that you think a little more carefully about your wording when you post things in the future.

Love your nursery and those newborn photos…be still my heart!! We did a Star Wars themed nursery for our little guy too: https://goo.gl/photos/VsMH9eq85WZo2Ns59
I’m still on the fence with what I want to do to the navy wall behind his crib, but I’m leaning towards the hyperspace effect. I really like how this shows how I can make the room grow with him. One of my most favorite Bower Power posts ever!

Ahhh Katie you guys are so darling in your costumes! Thanks so much for including my Tie Interceptor Shelf. May the force be with you!

That’s exactly why I said it. I was simply paying a compliment to her decor that she made for her son…nothing more. Obviously I think Star Wars is for both genders because I am a fan.

Katie, you have always been my favorite blogger but this just put it waaaaay over the top! I fell in love with star wars in my teenage years and then seduced my husband with the dark side before we got married and now my daughter is a fan as well. I loooooved this post!
