Remember when you knocked down my door and threw yourself head-first into my closet?

I remember.

That was the first and only time you met my girls.

No.  Not my breasts.  That would be awkward.  For like a whole second.  Until I realized that I expose myself to breastfeed without abandon and those girls meet strangers like it’s Mardi Gras 24-7.  And mommy doesn’t even get beads.

This is really going nowhere fast.  Let’s restart.

So um shoes.  SHOES!

I have a slight obsession.

I like them.  I like heels.  I like flats.  I like wedges.  I like boots.  I like sneakers.  I like sandals.  There isn’t a whole lot that I don’t like.  I like to think that it all began in middle school when I started swimming year round.  Anyone that swims every single day will tell you that the grossest thing about being a swimmer is the warts.  Plantars warts are crazy popular among swimmers.  And I had my fair share.  So you put on cute shoes and no harm, no foul.  The boys don’t know you are basically a frog under those cute pair of strappies.

And so it makes perfect sense why I kindof choked on my own saliva in excitement when ShoeMint offered up a free pair of shoes to my readers.  I had seen ShoeMint on the fabulous feet of other bloggers (like the gorgeous Jenny Komenda) so I was completely familiar with them but I didn’t know if you were.  So here’s the deal…they are a collaborated by and designed by Rachel Bilson and stylist Nicole Chavez and then manufactured by the one and only Steve Madden.  And ShoeMint is a free, members-only website…so new stuff is added monthly.  All the shoes are $79.98.  That means you get designer shoes for under $80.  They boast that they use real leather and suede and they have free shipping and returns.  Oh and first-timers receive 20% off their first purchase.  Pretty sweet, huh?!

    I too love shoes and have purchased from ShoeMint before. One thing that I found out after purchasing is that when you sign up for the membership you are agreeing to them charging your credit card $80 every month. Granted, you can use this full amount as a ‘credit’ on your account (for up to 1 year) to purchase shoes. But when I bought one pair of shoes I was shocked to see another $80 charge the following month. I buy things online all the time and consider myself pretty internet savvy, but I totally missed this in the transaction I made. It IS there, but it certainly wasn’t obvious to me. I know you care about your readers, so just wanted to share this little heads up with you and hopefully them too.

Once I got a house and now a kid, my style has gone not to the back burner, but into a moth-ball smelling dust-covered box in the addict. As I type this it’s 11 AM and I’m still in my Tinker Bell PJ’s. I wish I were joking. I think a pair of the Harper flat sandals in white would help kick-start my style. I keep secretly thinking Stacey and Clint from What Not To Wear are going to show up and take me to task for my wardrobe.

Just an FYI for anyone thinking about becoming a member of any of the Mint sites: Once you buy something, they charge your credit card every month with a credit that can be used towards a purchase. You can tell them not to charge you for any given month, but you have to go into your account and affirmatively do so each month. I just found the websites’ descriptions to be misleading as to how they work, so I thought I’d spread the word.

    I love shoes, I’m obsessed. My current favorites are a salmon colored pair of patent leather pumps from coach (3rd anniversary gift traditional is leather so I got shoes he’s a keeper!)
    My favorites of all time are my sparkly silver peep toe sling back pumps from my wedding! My daily go to is a more sensible wedge or ballet flat.
