September Giveaway – Velata

GIVEAWAY

I’m squishing all the giveaways into one giant day (or a week if I feel lazy) of glittering awesomeness. Are you ready for this jelly? This yummy jam is all for you….one day (or week) with many many freebies – so check back often to heavy breathe and eye fondle these goodies. I’m dubbing it the Giveaway Power Day…like the dance – it’s electric!

Congratulations go out to my little sis and brother-in-law (brothel for short? any takers?). 

Norn and Boots have made it an entire year of newlywedness and both have yet to lose an eye.  It seems like just yesterday that they said their I-do’s in our backyard and we danced the night away. 

My mom had saved the smallest two levels of their brownie wedding cake for the tradition of the eating-of-the-cake-top on their first anniversary.  I was wary.  As I am with any year-old-food.  Thankfully we had the perfect addition to the party….a new Velata fondue warmer with dark chocolate and strawberries. 

I am a fandue…aka a fan of fondue…so being able to plug the warmer up and microwave the bag of chocolates (genius) and just pour it in, well, I wasn’t expecting the easiest cleanup and prep ever. 

We  nibbled on the fruit and brownies on the short handed skewers dipped in dark chocolate.  Which leads me to my next point (get it?  skewers? point?  not as sharp as I thought, huh?  sorry…had to.)…the chocolate comes in pouches…and there are different choices…caramel milk chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate.  I could seriously create an emergency stash of these pouches…you know, just in case zombies take over. 

I’m really excited to tell you that you can celebrate Norn & Boot’s anniversary with us!  (clarification: I will not be mailing year old brownies)…BUT Jennie (who you should know by now because she is my official go-to-source for Scentsy stuff!) is giving away a fondue warmer and each one of the chocolates!

    I have found that my children’s animal crackers sure are delicious with chocolate…or nutella…or peanut butter. 🙂 Only when they aren’t looking!
    Randomly, my husband and I enjoyed our only fondue meal ever the night of our senior prom. (And yes, we did party like it ‘s 1999!)

  55. Velata is a fun-due! My fiance seriously calls it “Fun-due,” and never “slips” and refers to it by it’s “technical” name. (I apologize for all the “”) It’s so fun for a cozy date-night in! My favorite thing to dip in chocolate is angel food cake – it’s so light and sweet and just soaks that chocolate right up! I highly recommend it!

  61. Velata is a fun-due! Oh my goodness I love fondue. Chocolate, Cheese, plain old oil….Love it. I think my favorite thing to dip in choclate though is bananas. Which is odd…because I am not the biggest fan of bannanas on their own.

  67. What a fun giveaway! My daughter went on a play date yesterday, she’s 9, and they made homemade french fries with the dad for snack. How do you top that? With Velata is a fun-due! How cool would that be? I would definitely score major awesome mom points with this. Fruit would be good, but I’m thinking my kids would love marshmallows. Me? I’m going for pound cake!

    What isn’t good to dip in chocolate? I like sweet & salty so I’d probably go for pretzels, but I’m willing to dip just about anything. Maybe pineapple?

    I was at a birthday party once and a little girl accidentally dipped her sleeve in the chocolate fountain. Does that count? She did lick it off so it was a treat for her.

    I know that this isn’t very original but brownies are really the best with fondue. I mean, what’s better than chocolate? Chocolate dipped in chocolate of course!!!!! Oh and the Velanta is SO pretty in that red!

    Strawberries are my favorite things dipped in chocolate, but pound cake and marshmallows are awesome too. I think it’s great that y’all dipped the brownies in the chocolate, because nothing makes chocolate better than more chocolate!

    My favorite thing to dip into chocolate is a spoon. I love it. I’m obsessed. I eat melted chocolate with a spoon. When I make Oreo balls, I can’t help but use 3-4 spoons because I keep licking the chocolate.

    I’d have to say that I love pretzels dipped in chocolate. Or, every New Year’s, my husbands family has a fondue night and my MIL makes these delicious treats – little bits of candy bars wrapped in biscuit dough. Fry ’em and dip ’em in chocolate. Yeah, that’s probably #1. YUM.

    Sadly, years later I went back to visit and get some, but they no longer sell them. I now search every single candy store I pass… it’s a new life mission to find chocolate covered potato chips!

He died and my hubs and I have been talking for years about making fondue but don’t want to waste $$ on a brand new warmer, seeing how lots of people have them and don’t use them.     Strawberries dipped in white chocolate fondue are my absolute fav! My husband and I went to a fondue restaraunt once and mildly enjoyed the meal but absolutely devoured the dessert part…next time we’ll eat dinner at home and then gorge ourselves on melted chocolate goodness.

    At first I thought it said Velveeta and I was like…..what?? Then I got it.

    I did BACON dipped in chocolate and it was amazing! I would actually be surprised if you’ve never tried it since you love bacon so much! I made the bacon extra crispy in the oven and it was room temp when we were dipping. Some other great options were potoato chips with ruffles (noticing the salty sweet combo that I love?), pound cake, carmels……..

    Really, pretty much anything dipped in chocolate is good. I mean, people eat chocolate covered grasshoppers in some countries. But if I were FORCED to choose something, I’d say pound cake.     I would have to say rice crispy treats! But that could also be because I am craving rice crispy treats… hmmm. Post work preggo creation? I think so. P.S. on the same note, I make some killer salted caramel rice crispy treats with chocolate ganache. Fondue might be easier.
