Chattanooga was our home for the holidays this Christmas. We went to my boyfriend’s hometown for most of the week. So as a little pre-Christmas treat, we decided to open one gift early. Like a holiday appetizer. A present tongue-wetter. Kinda like a bacon-wrapped-weiner. Something delicious to remind us of all the goodness still to come.
And Jeremy went straight for his stocking.
It’s probably because he couldn’t wait to give the Black & Decker ReadyWrench (that was boldly sticking outta the top of the stocking) a try.
And just so all of ya’ll know…this stocking stuffer was even more fabulous because I scored it for zero bones. Yup. The fine folks over at Black & Decker sent us this as a free little Christmas gift (wait…that’s only partially true…they really wanted us to test it out and send them a review). But after seeing Jeremy’s reaction to the gift (ABP fun fact: we actually don’t blog about all freebies because we only like to share the stuff we LOVE), I knew that we had to shout to the world how this little tool was something we were proud to add to our tool arsenal.
Pretty hot, huh?
Yeah, that ReadyWrench isn’t so bad either 🙂
First thing that my boyfriend did was check out our car. Afterall, we were heading out to Tennessee the next day and he wanted to be sure everything was safe and sound. Plus it gave him the opportunity to see the ReadyWrench in action. His words were,
“It’s like a wrench (which we don’t own) and a socket set (which we also don’t own) in one. It’s actually not a cheesy tool at all.”
Jeremy – there is nothing wrong with being cheesy.
You happened to marry one cheesy tool.
Just a friendly Christmas reminder 🙂
Anyhoo…after he was done tinkering with our Honda, I recruited him to fasten one of our dining room chair legs. It was a bit wobbly after our cookie exchange. And with my rapidly increasing waistline, the last thing I need is to choose the wrong chair.
Luckily, Jeremy was able to spin the little head on the ReadyWrench and find the correct size for the chair in seconds.
Totally awesome. And obviously we were safe & sound on our car ride…so two million points for the ReadyWrench. Maybe the man in your life got a gift card to a home improvement store…well, if I may…I would highly recommend putting part of that toward this all-in-one-wrench-rachet-set. It’s a great addition to any starter tool collection. Thanks a bundle Black & Decker!
So anyone else out there get this cool tool as a stocking stuffer? Or maybe you scored some other DIY tool as a Christmas gift? Do tell. You know that this cheesy tool loves hearing all about pressies!

I got one of those for my step-dad. It’s so cool, I couldn’t stop messing around with it (even though it was a gift for him …). I got a bunch of my own shiny new tools though that I’m sure I’ll be able to use too!

Thanks for the heads-up on the Ready Wrench! I will be adding this to our tool arsenal ASAP. Also, my bf wanted a cordless drill for Xmas but didn’t get it so now I’m thinking I’ll gift it to him for Valentine’s Day. Any recommendations?

Ha! I love it. No ready wrench stocking-stuffers for us, but the hubs did score some great new tools under the tree. Seriously, I’ve never seen someone get so excited about wood chisels. And “creeper” jokes were definitely flying when he opened his new craftsman under-car creeper. Boys and their toys!!

Ooooh looks good! Our stockings were stuffed with home depot gift cards so we might be checking this tool out 🙂

My fiance got that same exact “tool” for Christmas. Except his was cracked when he opened it, he was soo bummed! He was so grateful that home depot exchanged it for the last one they had in stock!

My step dad has made a tradition of getting me tools for special occasions… Over the past few years, I have become the proud owner of my very own power sander, circular saw, and an awesome cordless drill! I think part of his plan was to stop me from borrowing his…

Hey Shelley –
Well, you know us Bowers – we love DeWalt brand tools – and our most used item is the drill. Look for one with lots of power…we use ours for hard-core DIYing like screwing in studs (vs. assembling furniture) and it has never let us down. We also adore a drill that is cordless…which comes in handy as long as your battery stays charged 🙂
Hope this helps!

Total wrench envy! We scored the Black and Decker Auto Level Laser (and Stud Finder!), and the Craftsman Auto Hammer. We were in tool heaven.

Yay to B&D for hooking y’all up. I love the recommendation because it something I could get my hubby for his birthday. Next year can you can do a pre-Christmas must-have tools Christmas list? A reminder of what you and your boyfriend can’t live without could give us faithful readers ideas for our own man’s Christmas gift. 🙂

Absolutely Sarah J!
I actually have a post in the works on our must-have list of DIY tools…and most of them are perfect for birthday, Christmas or “just because” gifts.
It’s gonna be really fun to reminsce about all our projects too as we go through our work bench 🙂

Is that a stocking with a name ending in “ill” that I see? Could it be a stocking for future Baby Boy Bower?
