You don’t get to see half the photos I take. Can you believe it?
It’s insane the number of pictures that I have on my camera/laptop/backupdrives/photobucket at any given moment. I bleed photos. I sweat pictures. Digital images come oozing outta my orifices.
But enough about my holes, I thought that in proper preparation for next year’s family photo yearbook, I should edit the best pictures that I saved from my favoritest memories and file them away. And then in the spirit of generousity, I decided to share them with you. So this is April. A little late…and yes, it’s heavy on the Will photos. So if you don’t like my kid, may your rotten soul burn eternally in…I mean, feel free to skip this 🙂
Grandmothers you can thank me later 🙂
These photos of Will are him talking. I love his babbling. He almost sounds human.
Super ball has never been so exciting.
These were from Easter…that was my Easter dress. It was from Goodwill and originally a size 16. If the Easter Bunny looked closely, I had enough extra fabric in the sides to fashion a tie for Will…if he wore clothing.
This was actually his Easter outfit…except he’s missing his coat.
I especially love the shoes…which were a gift from his buddy Hayden.
These were some random photos of the grandparents with Cole and Will. And no Jeremy those aren’t polka dotted pants. I would never do that to a boy.
unless he looked REALLY cute.
They are turtles.
Mom bought this weird lamb cake for our Easter Sader. Then she sat it directly across the table from me and it stared at me the entire time. Fah-reaky.
Basically these are my favoritest ever pajamas. I want to plan a playroom using them as inspiration.
Shakespeare hand! It went away for a while and then it comes back outta nowhere and brings with it much joy and excitement.
We met up with Jeremy’s brother and his girlfriend Cat for dinner. And now I need a green cardigan stat.
Ear raspberries.
The brown-eyed Bower boys.
And yes, his shirt does say My mom is outta your league. And yes, I did pick it out. Toddler boys everywhere need to know.
Will’s fascination with bikes…you can see here how his Wee Ride attaches to the bike – it braces with a bar and then the seat locks in with a little pad thing for him to put his hands on.
Will yawns a lot. I asked the Pediatrician about it…along with my other list of 10.73 million worries, and she said there is nothing to worry about seeing as how much he sleeps. Of course, I immediately went to “does he have sleep apnea?”….
because I am a mom and mom’s main job is to worry, right?
I’m in the background itching my poison ivy. I had it on my leg and ended up using Ivarest. I’m only writing that down so that I don’t forget the next time I get poison ivy.
No surprise.
I end up writing with the chalk and Will’s favorite thing is to just come and sit on my drawings.
I’m not kidding.
We discovered chicken legs this month…and Will was quiet and patient with chewing them. First time ever.
And of course, after that lasted the longest five minutes in Will’s eating history, he had a complete meltdown…complete with head hitting.
Spaghetti went much better. I think part of that had to do with the fact that Jeremy and I were laughing hysterically the entire time. He’s like a little Jerry Seinfeld – loves to entertain.
This is not how I imagined my kid would look. But I’m totally okay with it. Just never thought he would look that way – is that weird?
Will adores the vacuum. Adores it. He also likes wiping the table.
He does a pretty good job too…I mean, he should seeing as how 99% of it is his mess.
This was the month that he discovered the pantry.
Basically one of Will’s happiest days was the day Cole broke out the slip-n-slide. This was really the beginning of our summer.
Will stood there like a diaper model and watched Cole run up and slide down close to twenty times.
He was a little less excited about actually participating though. Will is very cautious. He probably gets that from me. I worked in insurance for pete’s sake.
Actually he just sat there for a while and then finally got up. I think he probably thought that he did really well.
We all were taking photos and he was very excited…so obviously he thought he really accomplished something by simply getting sprinkled on.
And then we asked Cole to take him down. Cole is such a good big brother-cousin to him. Of course, he’s not a real ‘brother’ but just about. He’s the closest thing Will has to a sibling…
Sweet Cole did his best…but I think Will just wasn’t having it. Hey, you can’t win em all.
Yup – this is pretty much how I pictured my kids. Definitely more accurate…only thing missing is a stream from Will into that bucket.
okay – and that’s April. I have May, June and July coming. But first, one heckova giveaway…so stay tuned!

Love reading your blog Katie! Yeah, pretty sure I secretly wish I lived in Georgia and that we could be friends. Your little boy is adorable. I have a 13 monther myself. Little boys are the best. Take care!

You will never, ever regret all the photos – they grow too gosh darn fast! Shakespeare hand!! Love it! When our oldest was a baby (he is one-one now, still can’t say it) his all time favorite thing to do was eat (still is) so my father in law called him “Nick The Bib” – now is that Italian or what? We still call him that.
BTW – loving your lamb cake. Even if it is staring a little too intently.

I absolutely love your blog, it’s filed under DAILIES in my Google Reader. Your posts about Will always warmy my heart as a mother of two little boys under 4 I can relate so much & I wish they liked to vacum as much as Will.

I love reading your blog! I found out about you from YHL, but I almost look forward to your posts more because of all the pictures of Will – he’s so stinkin cute! And I love your humor. I laugh every post I think!
Oh, but I hope you don’t have yawn pictures in every post. I can’t stop now!

Just…d’awww! ♥ Will is adorable, and it looks like April was a good month for you and your family. Well, poison ivy aside.
And gosh, I love your pictures. You have the best technique, it’s amazing.

Cute pictures! When my daughter was born she looked like no one I had ever seen before. I thought she would come out looking like my baby pictures. If I had not seen her being pulled from my belly I might have thought they gave me the wrong kid. A couple of years later though she is my husbands mini me!

Seriously that last picture had me cracking up. Love it 🙂

These are so cute!!! I also love that you Do a family photO album, I hope I can stay on top of that when I have kids 🙂 oh and it’s adorable that he likes to vacuum and wipe the table off, my niece who is about the same age is scared of the vacuum but loves wiping tables and floors and then using the same towel to wipe her face 🙂

This is completely off topic, but where did you get your white upholstered couch? I’m dying for one and trying to convince my hubs that it would be super easy to clean. Can you use bleach or OxyClean? BTW all of your pics always make me want a little one of my own, may be time to give up the dink (dual income no kids) life and do it!

LOVE IT!! have you done a post on your photo storage and photo books before? i’m struggling with what to do with all of my own photos after the camera…….. how do you keep so many of will so organzied?

Great, great post!

i think i like your totally random/photo dump post the most. 🙂

Our couch is Pottery Barn…we got it at the outlet years ago. And yes, it is slipcovered so we often throw that bad boy in the washer with a bucket of bleach 🙂

I NEED that toddler shirt! Where did you get it? Ador!
Katie says
Hi Lauren,
I actually started making photo yearbooks because I wanted better organization too. Here’s the post I did all about it 🙂

Haha – love the lamb cake! I’ve never seen one without the icing and coconut though… I agree it’s a little creepy!
Will is just adorable!

Haha! It’s from Old Navy 🙂

Umm I totally have my great grandmother’s mold that makes like that exact lamb cake. I agree with another poster though..it does look funny without the frosting/coconut. I guess it’s a sheared lamb cake?
Also, love the picture of Will covered in grass/water/mud. I don’t have kids yet, but since I’m covered in mud and peanut butter half the time I feel like it’s a pretty reasonable expectation that my children will be just as dirty.
Kristen says
Will is such a cutie! My husband and I don’t have any kids yet and I sometimes wonder if I’m ready for such a big change. However, when I see your pictures it makes me realize having kids looks pretty amazing! The fun you have with Will really comes out in your pictures. You are a great photographer and blogger and most of all an awesome mom!
Alicia says
I have to know where you got those adorable pajamas? LOVE them!

How do you keep your camera from getting wet, dirty, sandy, whatever when y’all are out and about? I’ve got a Nikon D90 and am just paranoid that I’ll drop it, or get sand it the lens (if I were to take it to the beach), or get it wet and damaged or something. And, do you keep the strap on it and wear it around your neck, so you can have hands free to catch your little tinkler when/if need be?
Stephanie says
Katie, those waterslide pics are just the cutest! I re-read your post about organizing photos, but was wondering, where do you store your digital photos for safekeeping in the case of a fire or flood or computer meltdown? Do you have an online photo storage site you’d recommend?
Sarah says
such a cutie!

That last picture is to die for! We have the Wee Ride, too. My son is two and he LOVES it. However, he thinks that his hands belong on the handlebars with Daddy’s and so that is a bit of a struggle. The thing in front is also great for when they konk out in the middle of a ride, too! And how hilarious are these little guys in their helmets?!
Kate says
Such awesome photos and you look ah-mazing!! What’s your secret to have lost the baby weight so quickly!?!
Lesley says
How have I gone this long before finding you? You are a hoot and that baby boy is a doll! I have 2 boys under 3 and they are hilarious, ridiculous, messy, and always breaking/ throwing things. So glad to see I’m not alone.
Ann @ The Domestic Domicile says
Oh my gosh! I can’t get over the lamb cake! My friend’s grandmother sends him a lamb cake every Easter and at first I thought it was a cake made out of lamb meat…but it obviously wasn’t. It’s cool to see that someone somewhere does the same thing.

Katie — You are just the cutest thing…every time I stop by here (who has time to actually read their fave blogs anymore?!!?) I end up spending 30 minutes or more! I adore your writing and honesty, and never tire of pics of you and your cute family. Thanks for sharing!!
Katie says
Totally blushing right now.
