I finally took the plunge into peel and stick wallpaper and it was so worth it!
For those of you that haven’t tried it or looked into it yet….peel and stick wallpaper is basically a giant wall sticker…it literally peels off the backing and sticks onto the wall. But the best part is…it’s temporary so if you don’t line it up correctly, you are renting or you can’t imagine stripping wallpaper in the future, YOU CAN PEEL IT OFF EASILY. And then comes the other amazing part…YOU CAN RE-STICK IT. Miracle of miracles 🙂 It’s does for your room what Spanx does for your body. It should say that on the packaging. But apparently the marketing department for peel & stick wallpaper doesn’t truly understand how this product can transform a space.
Because this is my first time with removable wallpaper, I wanted to give it a whirl in an inconspicuous area. I choose this room in our basement. I wanted to get enough for one big wall but now I am going to reorder more to finish out the whole room (it has four doors and three windows in this one area so wallspace is minimal).
We made an entire video about the process…including the tools you will need and the things that we struggled with at first. Also…make sure you look for the bloopers at the end. Jeremy is performing a little wall dance you will not want to miss 🙂
As for the wallpaper itself….I chose this beautiful brushed fret design from Kate Riley (she is the blogger behind Centsational Girl and is completely fabulous with impeccable style!). HERE IS THE LINK FOR THE WALLPAPER.
And here is the how-to-video! Happy St. Patricks Day y’all!

YES!!! I LOVE PEEL-AND-STICK WALLPAPER! (Ok I’ll stop yelling) 🙂 I’ve used it in one space already and it was so easy and forgiving…just be sure when you’re re-ordering though that you get the same lot number of the rolls you already have (It sadly can make a difference as it can be a shade lighter or darker than the ones you put up) Hope this helps!
P.S. Congrats on number 5!!!! (It’ll be a girl) 😉 xo

And congrats on your growing family!

Looks great. I love Jeremy’s dancing. Totally reminds me of Steve Martin dancing in his incognito outfit at the end of The Pink Panther. LOL

Lol, you two are too cute. Looks great. Centsational Girl is awesome! Been considering using this for the laundry room, however it has knock down texture. Will it work over that?
Pam B. says
Love the wallpaper BUT you two just made my day! There needed to be a disclaimer saying “Do not eat or drink while watching this video” because I nearly choked on my water! Although I did laugh my hiney off (I wish!)
Denise says
LOL I LOVE JEREMY! Old enough to be his Mom but any man who makes me laugh is a real KEEPER! Job well done Katie!

You guys crack me up. Loved the bloopers. 🙂

This turned out great! I’ve been thinking about peel and stick wallpaper for my office at work and I think now I’m convinced! I love the yellow version of this paper 🙂

Our ENTIRE house has textured walls – even the ceilings are textured! Would this work on walls like that?

The wall looks beautiful, and. I loved your video and the bloopers. I used some peel and stick wallpaper border in my daughter’s room back in the late 90’s, and it turned out really cute. I had some trouble with it stretching if I wasn’t very careful. Did you have any problem with that? Is the wallpaper paper or is it vinyl? Thanks for sharing!

wow! i love that wallpaper. You guys did a great job showing how easy it is. Wallpaper has always seemed so scary to me. Great post

Do you think this would stick to chalkboards but come off cleanly later?? I hate my classrooms green chalkboards and have been looking for something to cover them with but I can’t damage them…
Katie says
You know…the only way to tell is to get a sample. They do send one early if you make an order to make sure you are happy so it is worth trying out.

I don’t know….we don’t have textured walls. But I do know that they send a sample when you make an order and that could indicate whether it would show through.

Katie says
Oh no stretching…it’s has a full description in the link…but it’s not like paper or normal vinyl.

Katie says
I do think it would stick to them…but it’s worth getting a sample first. And I don’t think it would damage it…it’s not really sticky like that.

We hung peel and stick wallpaper horizontally since it was going under a breakfast bar, and over the course of a year it has gradually started falling off at the seam and is slowly sliding down the wall. I won’t use it again. It’s a bummer, because it’s so easy to use.
Jennie says
Can u use it in bathrooms?
Katie says
That is a really good question and I have no idea! I imagine that with a good fan and short showers, it wouldn’t give you a problem but like I said in the video….this was our first time 🙂
