See that man in the plaid shirt?
Yeah.
That’s my Pappap. You can call him Pappap too.
He is my favorite grandfather in the whole world.
First because he is full of honor. Like he is brimming full of it. If Pappap wasn’t his name then it would definitely be Your Honorable Highness.
And secondly because he thinks I married a man named Jerry Bowser.
I usually pipe up with something along the lines of….”Pappap – his name is JEREMY BOWER“.
Pappap then states matter of factly,
“That’s what I said.”
It just doesn’t get better than that for me.
His ways…his quirky ways…full of honor…and humor…they are like water to a dry soul. I love Pappap-isms.
Oh Grandpa’s are the best! They can get away with a lot. LOL
Jerry Bowser makes me die laughing. I love your Pappap. I can’t wait until I’m old enough to call everyone anything that I want. You’ll be Matey Fowler because pirates and birds are funny.
Grandpas are the best! Mine did a reading for my husband and I at our wedding 2 weekends ago, and before he read he gave a pappas-ism of his own 🙂 we picked a reading and he changed it. Of course he is a G-pa so he can 🙂
hilarious! Totally cracks me up.
I love grandparents!! I am so eager to be old enough to say whatever I want! I wonder what the “offical” age is for that… I mean, at what age does that shift happen??
You’re so lucky your Pappap is still here. I miss mine so much!
Awww…. so cute!
Awww pappap! Your adorable! Cute old men make me so happy! Especially when they say random and sometimes inappropriate things. I never knew my g-pa’s and the hub’s are long gone so I’m thinking of adopting one…to hang out with on Sunday afternoons and play checkers with. Yup, that’s going on my list of things to do.
Not to mention he wears rocking plaid shirts. He’s so cute, but you can tell him I said studly 😉
I love when he says “Chick-a-Fill” !!
haha! grandpas are fun, aren’t they? my grandpa showed up to our wedding convinced that my husband ben was named bernard. 🙂
What a great grandfather. I miss my grandfather so much!!!
Thats hilarious!!!
LOL too funny! We lived with my grandfather for about 5 years (from when I was 10-14), and when me and my sister you used to watch Sister, Sister on TV, he would say (about the twins), “You know, I think those girls are related!”
happy bacon day! (the 5th) enjoy!
Love it. My pawpaw used to call my stepbrother named Jessy “Jerry” all the time. And he would say the same exact thing when we corrected him – “That’s what I said!”
when my cousin liz got married 3 years ago, our grama could never remember liz’s husband’s name (jarrett) and always called him justin. when i got engaged, grama wrote my husband’s name (clifton) on a piece of paper by her phone so she could remember it. and every time we talk, she calls him justin. at least she’s consistent?
Too cute. I also have a pap pap, but we separate it into 2 words! And he’s also from Pittsburgh, just 20 miles east. And while I saw you are a huge fan of the Steelers, my family goes nuts for the PENGUINS!
Whoo! Speaking of which, we’re making the trek from Chicago to Pittsburgh for Valentine’s Day weekend just to spend the most romantic holiday at the most romantic place on earth: The Igloo.
