Hi Katie! I love your blog and am so happy for your and your photography business, you have a lot of talent!!! I need to make some business cards for my sewing business and was perusing moo.com last night. I couldn’t find out how to design the text side of the cards like you did, adorably! Did you design them yourself and then upload them to moo as jpegs? I’m not a pse master like you, but any insight you could give would be helpful! Thanks so much and I can’t wait to follow your photog site as well as the dream home renovations!
Quick question for a pro! Do you have any recommendation on where to print photos so that actually do some justice to the photography? I shoot with a Canon DSLR and my photos always look great on screen/edited, but not so fantastic when I print them, it’s so frustrating. I appreciate any advice you have!
Loves!
Jen

Hey Katie –
Love your b-card designs. My cards are from MOO as well and I think the quality is awesome! People especially comment on the thickness of the cardstock.
Also, do you mind sharing where all of your backgrounds are from? Did you design them yourself or find them on the web??
I just came across this: http://www.howsweeteats.com/2011/02/06/my-motto/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+howsweeteats%2FsmSp+%28How+Sweet+It+Is%29. And I’m pretty sure it screams Katie Bower. Also, I went to a photography class in Avondale Estates this weekend and mentioned you when I was telling someone why I decided to buy the two lenses I now own. The crazy thing is, the class “teacher” (Monica B) said she knows you through mutual friends and thinks is so cool when people talk about you from your blog… because obviously I don’t know you personally. Anyways, I thought that was funny! And thanks for the suggestions on the 50mm 1.8 lens and the $5 wide angle add on for the canon kit lens. I love them both and for the price you really can’t beat it!
Hi Jen,
Have you tried MPIX or Shutterfly? I have had good luck with both and I also had good results with Scrapbookpictures.com
Happy printing!

And you met Monica?! She’s so sweet…she’s a good friend of a good friend – and I hear that she is a great teacher!

Thanks Katie! I haven’t tried any of the ones you suggested so I will definitely do so! Thanks for answering to reduce me having multiple unhappy experiences before a good one! 🙂
P.S. I just saw you turned 30! This is my year to turn 30 also! You should be very proud of all that you have done, this will be one incredible year for you!!

What a cutie! Cute card.
Wonderful business page, and the photos you put up really show the customers how great of a photographer you really are. Good luck with this!
Just lovely. I wish I lived in your neck-o-the-woods.
How exciting! Congrats on your new journey!

Haha. Whoops. Sorry. Wrong post.
Katie, I’m bummed you don’t live near Ohio. I would absolutely have you do my senior pictures. Will you come if I cover airfare?? Or not… 😛
I wish we lived closer too! Congrats, I would love to have the time to get great at photography and open a side business! Cheers to you!!! (sounds like it’s going to be quite a success!!!)

Yes – that is exactly what I did. I just designed the back to compliment the front and uploaded them separately.
