I am constantly behind on giving y’all these Monthly Reports. I can’t seem to catch up because I keep spacing them out. So today we are doing February’s recap. Tomorrow…March. Thursday….April. Friday….May. Of course, this would be kinda boring if you are an every day reader who doesn’t miss a beat. So I also have a few other posts planned too. Let’s just say that sleep is not in my future…but a catchup on Monthly Reports IS. I kinda have some adrenaline going just from that thought…it’s like pulling an all-nighter in college…now if only I could have that body again 🙂

SPONSORS:
I don’t like to brag but I really do have the best sponsors. They are constantly updating their products to make sure that they have the best of the best in style, quality and price. I am always on their sites for inspiration and trying to keep my finger on the pulse of what’s hot. If you are looking to update your flooring, tile or fixtures, I hope you look into their products too!
Impressions Hardwood Collection has beautiful quality hardwood floors. The huge variety is my favorite feature. And they sent us some sample boards to get some info on their products…these are no joke. QUALITY.
I’m obsessed with The Tile Shop. They are blogger friendly….blog reader friendly….and carry the best. If you have a showroom near you, it’s worth your time to go check it out just simply because it’s like a dream world. I am digging their stacked mosaics. awesome.
Kitchen Resource Direct has the cheapest wholesale prices for cabinets the internet has to offer – price guaranteed! That makes it worth it right there. Anyone looking to update your kitchen? This is the place for you.
I can’t wait to show you more picks from Golden Age USA. I love me some window shopping…and this place could get me the chills for hours on end!
Interested in becoming a Bower Power sponsor? Email [email protected] for more rate info and how your ad could be seen by thousands each day! HAPPY PERUSING!

This is an off topic ? For you…….how do you like the Belvedere patio furniture you ordered last summer? Thinking of getting a few of the pieces and would like to know how they’ve held up?? Thanks!

Seriously, don’t do yourself in catching up on posts. It seems like a lot of blog readers don’t like monthly round-up type posts anyway. To me, they just feel like filler. Put up a few cute pics of the boys and call it a day!
Katie says
Awesome. We leave the cushions outside now and they take a day or so to dry when they are soaked through…but in general – LOVE it.

Hopefully I can get them all done in one night. It shouldn’t be so hard. I just wanna make sure I keep up going forward and be able to create a gallery of them in the future.

A lot of bloggers agree to do a recap in their agreements with sponsors, plus it’s cool to have projects and great memories all in one place to look back on (for us but for the blogger, too). But I get you – don’t kill yourself, Katie, but it’s cool that you want to get caught up! 🙂
Lovey says
Yeah I agree nobody likes monthly reports.
Katie says
Obviously they aren’t for everyone. Feel free to skip em!

I love round-ups! It has all the good stuff rolled into one. Like a twinkie. 🙂

Katie, Love the Oyster Cloister!!! You’ve just inspired me to pick up a whole lot of shells next week when we’re visiting St. Simons. Love love love your blog – I honestly can’t decide what I enjoy more; laughing with you, your amazing projects or those adorable little boys.
Whitney Dupuis says
You are doing way better than I ever did! I couldn’t keep blogging for a month. Keep it up though because Bower Power is one of my favs!!!
Wendy says
I like them. It gives you a real sense of everything that you accomplished in a month (on top of being a great mom!) Plus it makes it easier to go back and look at a project.
jenn says
yeah i’m done reading here. your procrastination and lack of love for this blog has gone on too long and i dont want to support someone who barely cares.
good luck.

if you worked at an office would you be able to get away with delivering work 3 months late? no. time management.
meg says
Looks like Feb was a busy month for you. 🙂

Seriously? It’s June 5 and you’re posting a recap of FEBRUARY?!
Girl, I’m a long-time reader and I love ya, and I get that you are a busy lady…but after 3+ months pass? Just forget it and recap May.

Hey Katie!
Happy Blogiversary! (I remember from last year) Love everything you do. Keep it up!

For a daily reader, it’s actually kind of fun to have it this spaced out! I get to look back at all the fun project y’all did a few months back and get reinspired 🙂
Mary says
Hey Katie!
Totally off topic but what are some fun things you do for the boys since you are a SAHM? I’m about to become one in a month (son is 3, another son is 6 months – like you!) I’m trying to think of fun stuff to do with them. What are some activities you do during the day? Do you go to museums or play groups? Parks? I need ideas! Haha I’m kinda nervous keeping them happy and occupied all day.
Please let me know!
Thank you,
Mary

Play dates! Library or community events! Special field trips like to the ice cream factory, playground, parks, baseball fields, bowling, swimming pool, strawberry picking, petting zoo or pet store, etc. We also do a lot here…like paper airplane contests, basketball, soccer, little poppers/sparklers, etc. I get lots of books and inspiration online!

Aww thank you Melissa. That kinda made my year 🙂

I really, really want to have an archive post of each month…so hence, I am playing catchup. It’s disgusting I know. Forgive me?!

Katie says
Good thing I don’t work in an office…and don’t have a boss that could fire me, huh!?
xo – kb
Katie says
Whoa. I never imagined anyone would have taken this so personally! Sorry to see you go!
xo – kb
kristen says
you have sponsors that pay your bills that could fire you, right?
Katie says
Nope. Sponsors pay for ad space…I don’t promise a certain number or type of posts each month or a certain amount of exposure…they pay up front and I make no promises. We use blog income for blog projects and to pay for the blog bills…and we depend on Jeremy’s income for life stuff (like most one income families). If sponsors don’t renew, that’s not like me being banned from blogging…only Al Gore can do that 🙂

kristen says
i understand they don’t make you promise x posts per month. but don’t you feel like, in order for them to feel like they’re getting a return on their investment, the least you can do is post timely and regularly?
if i started a newspaper, sold a bunch of ad space, and then ran my business where sometimes there are 5 newspapers on monday but none the rest of the week, or posted the friday edition on tuesday, or ran a christmas special in march, those advertisers would probably pull out. <- insert immature katie bower sex pun here.

I saw 26 comments on a monthly recap and knew there had to be some DrAmA ..so, of course I clicked 😉
I just wanted to say that I actually like seeing the recaps now (not that it matters because I assume this won’t become a new “thing” for you). Usually I just click past the recaps because I check your blog every day (*ahem, every hour*) and the recaps just seem repetitive. But this way, I was reminded of a lot of the stuff you did over the past few months… Sort of like catching up with an old friend and talking about memories.
Katie says
haha…actually I didn’t even think of that pun…so maybe your brain is dirtier than mine 🙂
Seriously though…I think that is the beauty in blogging…it’s not ever a ‘this way is the best way for everyone’ kinda thing. It’s different for everyone. Some folks blog like a newspaper…some like a journal…some like a crazy nonscheduled and irregular whenever and whatever they want kinda thing.
I understand that some people would prefer this to be a blog that has a post every weekday at 10am and 2pm and never makes a dirty joke and never has sponsored posts or any personality whatsoever. Some people would prefer this to be completely void of ads, and be consistently room makeovers, and would like pinterest-ready photos. The fact is…those people will be disappointed. I’m sorry if you are one of those people.

Wendy says
Katie, I just noticed some of the posts about the recaps-craziness. I think the reason why so many people check your blog everyday (or maybe hourly) is not because of the recaps (even though many of us like them) but because of the connection you have with the readers, people are invested in you and your family and want to see how you are doing and what cool things you are up too. I would imagine that your sponsors are happy knowing you have such a loyal following regardless of what You decide to write. Keep doing what you do, all the best.
