Last year, after LJ’s birth, I shared an infographic that contained all the details of our third born son. He is just the sweetest addition to our family and such a joy to watch grow. I figured that for his first birthday I would make another infographic and have it share even more LJ details. My how things have changed!
Here are the two side by side. Hopefully I can keep doing this till our little man turns 5 and we can see how big he has become! Sorry about the low quality but I had to resize them quite a bit to allow Photobucket to post them!
Obviously I love documenting our lives (hello I’m a blogger!) but even more specific than that, I love documenting our little guys! One of my favorites on the internet is how my BFF Sherry photo-documents her two little people (click here to see how Clara and Teddy have grown!) but I also love seeing your ways so if you are documenting monthly, yearly, daily growth of your babes….leave me a link! I’d love to check it out 🙂

Do you have a template or a program you use to create these? I would LOVE to do something similar for my peanut but I have no graphic design capability whatsoever!
Christi {Jealous Hands} says
This is precious!
Katie says
I don’t! I just make it up based on what I have picture and info wise. I do know that there are etsy sellers that do personalized infographics if you like. It might be worth looking up on Pinterest or etsy!

Beautiful, Katie! What program do you use to make these?

I would like to think that I would’ve kept up on this great idea if all these tools were around 21 years ago. 😉

Katie, I saw your previous answer about a reply, but what program do you use to make these infographics? Photoshop? Would be fun if you could give us a 101 on creating an infographic. ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Jenna says
LOVE THESE Katie! I’m terribly bad at documenting our lives, even though I claim to be a blogger (granted my blog goes neglected far too often). In fact, I don’t have a single photo of my husband, me, and my daughter when she was born. NONE. I only have one of her and my husband and maybe a couple of me and her. It’s really very sad actually. I’ve got to do better if there’s a next time. 🙂
Also, you probably already know this, but in case you don’t (I only discovered it a couple months ago and I’ve been a graphic designer for years!), but in Photoshop/Illustrator (not sure what you used to create these), you can go to File>Save for Web & Devices. It shrinks the file sizes WAY down without losing so much of the detail. Comes in handy from time to time. 🙂

Thank you! I will definitely check out Etsy. You have such a beautiful family; your boys are so precious they just break my heart! (In a good way, of course.) My son is about the same age as LJ so I enjoy keeping up with your family on your blog. Thanks for responding to me!
Katie says
Oooh…thanks for the tip! I’ll try that out when I get home from the dentist!!!

Katie says
Yes photoshop. Nothing too crazy.

Photoshop…but I imagine you could make it with any program that you could paste pictures into and add text.

Oh I love how you document your family and love of your boys! We were pregnant at the same time when you had Weston ( I think he was only a week or so after my Juliana) and now I am due with my 2nd around the same time you are with your 4th! I don’t know if we can do 4… or even 3… but you make it look so easy! Have a fabulous rest of your pregnancy….I’m counting down the days of mine as this one has been quite painful!

Mine are not quite as good as the Petersik’s, but they were my inspiration! Its been a lot of fun documenting my first baby, Everly, and I’m already thankfully to have these pictures and details looking back! My family enjoys the updates too. 🙂 Love seeing how other Mom’s document their kiddos! My baby girl’s weekly photos are at http://caseedodson.blogspot.com

So sweet! I can’t believe how long his hair is!!
This really made me miss the Petersik’s…. and yes, I know how odd that sounds as someone who doesn’t actually know them. Give them a hug from all of us past readers next time you see them! XO

These are super cool, Katie. Great work and thanks for sharing. Also, I MISS THE PETERSIKS!!! Please tell them hi from me (and the giant hole in my heart).
Erna says
Hey there- Leonard has changed so much! Do you have one of these for Weston or Will? I’d love to see them side by side to compare them!
Allison Cooley says
I love how you documented. I did monthly updates on my blog for the first 12 months of my littles life. They are all linked up onto this post if you want to check them out!

I loved this last year and love it again!! I so need to do something like this for my kiddos. I love how it is fun yet informative. Well done Katie!! – Rebecca
Katie says
Nope. I didn’t do this for those boys…I saved their information in a different (non-graphic-y) way.

Your boys are ADORABLE!! I love reading about your family – I’ve been following you for a while but I think this is my first comment. Your first infographic have me baby fever… And my twins are only ten months old!! I do a basic monthly update on my blog, but wow I wish I had half your visual skills!!
Good luck with your pregnancy & the new baby, btw

This is such a nice way to document LJ’s milestones! I absolutely love it 🙂
And I can’t believe Teddy is already a year old! Time certainly flies

HAHA!!!

I sort of copied Sherry and John with the weekly photos. It wasnt too difficult to keep up with until she started rolling over and crawling. Now it takes 2 people to get her to stay still long enough for a picture!
Not sure if the link will work because its FB. Its the only place I have them uploaded!

Love the infographics! We’ve been doing a weekly photo shoot for the baby (sniff, he’s almost a year) with a fixed object for growth comparison. I actually did have these made into a photo book for #1 so now I HAVE to follow through for #2.
I’ve also been doing regular blog posts. Monthly for the baby and then quarterly for the toddler. Latest one: http://romanreboot.com/2015/04/30/you-should-probably-just-start-walking-already/.

It is so cute to see how all three boys have grown from that first family picture you have there! You make adorable children! I do a monthly post of my little man on my blog. It is so fun to see how much progress they make when you look back. You kind of forget when you are in it day to day.
