If you haven’t received your 2011 Ikea catalog yet, well, you need to get on that. I stole my brother in law’s. Yep, he’s that metro. It only took me like thirteen seconds to review the entire thing and earmark my favorite new items. Wanna see what I am diggin? No need to twist my arm…
Maybe it’s cause I have a kid now…but I am totally into these soft toys. That fruit basket is adorable. And it never goes bad…which happens alot here in the Bower household. It’s like produce enters the house and suddenly becomes riper than Betty White. And do you see that breakfast set? Hello my love. It’s nice to see you my bacon dearest. (smile smile wink wink)
But seriously. Ikea also has some pretty fabulous new big-kid home items….
I love me that jute rug. Especially the price. I might be picking one of these up for our basement bedroom. Like tomorrow. And while I am there I might as well get those white candlesticks. They are just darling. And I can think of 1.8 million ways I can use them in my home.
Those are some of the pieces that I marked with Sharpie hearts in my stolen Ikea catalog…have you explored your own? Find anything far-bu-lous? What can’t you live without? Anything get you to say me like-a?

I live in Germany and we don’t get the new catalog until August 30th, but I’ve alerady seen most of the new products in the store a month ago. And I LOVE the soft toys! I almost bought them for myself 😀
Abby @ abby & her boys says
I want it all! Considering my baby puts exactly everything in his mouth, the soft toys are a must.
I am loving that grey couch, and of course those candle sticks. Like you said, the options are endless. I hope by the time you read this you have already bought them. 🙂 You’re lucky to have one so close!

Those soft toys are ADORABLE! I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of my IKEA catalog and our teaser is making even more ANXIOUS. Our closest IKEA is about an hour or so away. I may just need to take an afternoon off of work to head to IKEA and GO CRAZY!
I love that white cabinet – I am imagining it all over my house :o)
Have a great day!
Kate says
I bought the tractor set for my daughter and she loves it. It was hard not to buy them all when I saw them in the store.
Kasey says
Those soft toys are adorable! My son is 2 now so he more then likely wouldn’t find them ‘fun’… [although out Boston terrier would sure love them ha!].
I also want to say that I am jealous of anyone who has an IKEA near them. Our closest one is 6hrs away. Uh!
Cait @ Hernando House says
The 2011 catalog is out?! Well now I know what we’re doing this weekend… Good timing, since I was just about finished pouring over the 2010 for the billionth time.
Lori says
Too funny! I was just showing my husband the new stuff yesterday. The soft toys and candlesticks were a few of my fave picks too!
Deb says
I got it last week and was so excited until I saw the entire thing was in Spanish. 🙁 My high school Spanish is not nearly good enough to decipher the catalog so I requested one in English. I am anxiously awaiting it’s arrival…..
Kelsey says
We bought the farm set for our son Drew, including an animal “expansion” pack! 🙂 He LOOOOOOVES it and it’s the first time we’ve seen him do dramatic play, so we’re tickled too!
Heather says
Yessss me like-a a lot!! Got my catalog in the mail last week and I’ve been earmarking it like crazy. Also took a trip there with my (teenage) daughter to get some new things for her room….she picked out some bedding, retro looking alarm clock and an adorable storage bench. She got bored with everything I was looking at so I’ll have to go back by myself when school is back in session. I got some play drinking glasses for the little one who likes to play restaurant.
Lisa @ lists in my pocket says
I have the Ikea catalog on my bedside table. 😉 I hope to post on my favorite finds soon too! Thanks for sharing!
liz @ bontempsbeignet says
Wth IKEA? I still havent gotten mine : /
I will be buying that jute rug!
Leslie says
This stuff looks great! I’ll sign up for a catalog right away! And I love that you love bacon— I just read a knock knock joke that made me think of you. I have to share—
Knock, Knock.
Who’s there?
Bacon.
Bacon who?
Bacon in there? I smell cookies.
HAHAHAHAHA Hope you enjoyed 🙂

Katie, I love the white cabinet that you have in the second grouping but I can’t find it on the IKEA website. Do you know what its called? LOVE your blog. My 6 month old is named William also 🙂
Ashley @ According to Ashley says
I’m a new reader (found you through the fabulous YHL), but I just wanted to say: 1) You’re hilarious, 2) It took me a while to figure out why you had a husband AND a boyfriend and openly spoke about both of them on the internet (hehehe), and 3) I’m so jealous of people that have an Ikea near them. The closest one to me is 2-3 hours away, so (gasp) I’ve never even been there!! I’m loving those white candlesticks, though!

I have that Snelle desk chair, and although ridiculously cute (and well-priced), I gotta say it isnt the most comfortable thing in the world. As for the felt food, that’s totally on my wish list as well! (And, WTH Ikea, where is MY catalog?!) I’ve saved them back to 2005, and STILL routinely peruse them for ideas. 🙂
Meaghan says
I sure did like the lower price of the Karlstad sofa — cause I just went and bought one on Saturday!! They definitely have some great new things out this season.
Amanda @ Our Humble A{Bowe}d says
I have the desk chair! I LOVE it, except that you have to spin it to raise it, but it goes back down when you spin while using it. But, it’s comfy and looks good: http://ourhumbleabowed.wordpress.com/2010/06/02/office-progress-2/
Sarah @ The Ugly Duckling House says
I haven’t yet started perusing my catalog, but I had it sitting on my passenger seat on my way to work this morning. I somehow have to find a second to sit down to read it!
Meghann says
LOL.. I also went through the new catalog very very fast. Its dog eared and notes on the pages of my ideas where to use the things I spied in there. I so want those candlesticks as well… and the soft play food… my daughter would love them… we were thinking they are perfect for stocking stuffers!!!! Santas got to start shopping!
Natalie says
That gray couch is one of my favs.
Question, though: How well does IKEA furniture hold up? I own about 1 billion of their accessories, but no furniture. I know some of their tables tend to break down after a bit, but have you heard anything good/bad about their couches?
LOVE the candlesticks, and that jute rug would look PERFECT in your basement bedroom!
God bless 🙂

I almost feel honored that you like Ikea! You see, Ikea is a very, very Swedish company, and as it turns out, I am very, very much swedish.
I grew up around nothing but Ikea furniture, and when visiting a store here in the US, I get almost too excited and need to be calmed down by starting with lunch at their restaurant.
If you need any translations of items done, let me know :).
{Ps. At the age of 6 I was a pro at putting Ikea things together. that was the first time I had chosen a desk by myself and my parents told me to put it together}
Rebecca says
I love it all! I just heart ikea. I don’t heart the 1.5 hours in the car en route to ikea. And the boyfriend keeps telling me we have too much clutter. I guess he can’t see my design process. My ikea craving will probably be too high to ignore soon enough though… those candlesticks are perfect!
Kylie says
We just hit up Ikea last weekend after church to check out their new stuff. I am loving the grey sofa you posted. We’re on a serious hunt for two affordable, extra long, comfy, nailhead trim grey sofas. If you have any ideas, please send ’em our way. Thanks!
Chez says
I’m also having trouble finding that white cabinet. What is it called? I’m in love!!
Katie says
Hi Chez,
The white cabinet is Birkeland.
Here is the link.

See, you know how I feel about IKEA, KB. Fabulous. All of it. Except for that little issue of IKEA not existing in Colorado, yet.
Katie says
Once again Emily…just another reason for you and Tommy to move to the ATL.
