If you follow ABP on Facebook, you know that our friends Jeff and Jill had a darling daughter about a month ago. In fact, when we went to visit Chattanooga recently, I actually had the opportunity to attend her beautiful baby shower. And then a few weeks later, we made the trip all over again just for the chance to see little their little girl after she came home from the hospital.
Now if you are a long time reader, those names may ring a bell with you. Well, four thousand points to you because they are the same Jeff & Jill that we helped rework some walls in their lake house in a post ages ago. And then they allowed us to see the finished space and those kitchen cabinets knocked our socks off.
Now our socks are off because of another reason: little Lola Grace.
We met her at about three days old and she was stunning with a head full of BLACK hair and the sweetest delicate fingers I have ever seen.
Well, let’s fast forward to this past weekend when we made our way to Jeremy’s fantasy football draft party. Since Jeff plays in the same league, Jill drove down too and brought with her the little snugglymuffin. Jill was telling me about how she got some newborn photos done and didn’t exactly get the pictures she expected (also known as I-coulda-done-that-with-a-disposable-camera-disappointment). Since I wasn’t exactly getting a thrill from watching the guys pick their running backs, I suggested that we take the little one outside for an impromptu photo shoot.
Seriously. Could there be anything cuter?
Break out the butter…I wanna eat this one for breakfast.
I think I’m in love.
And it looks like Will is too. Sorry Clara to make you see this. Apparently summer flings are still hot and heavy here in Georgia.
I gotta talk to this boy about his hands. and the rest of his parts. and how No means No.
I just hope Jill isn’t too disappointed with these photos. I know it was a joy to take them…and editing them was just as fun. Is it weird that I get a kick outta photoshopping? Because I do. Like I would totally do it all day long. But that would mean McHandsy would have to sleep one heckova nap. A girl can dream, right?

Elle oh elle ay, Lola…. love that name.
And the pics are super cute. I’m sure she’ll love them. I, too, could spend all day (and night) on photoshop.

Those pictures are too cute! And “McHandsy”, haha!
I could edit in Photoshop all day, too! But it’s just not as much fun when I have to do it for work! On the weekends? Yes please! Does that make me weird?

Have you thought about offering Photoshop editing services for those of us who 1) can’t figure it out or 2) don’t have it? I have some pictures of my little one that I’m sure could be great with just a little editing. I received Lightoom for Christmas, but just haven’t had the time to get the knack of it. I’d love to have someone work their Photoshop magic on them!

Love the name. Love the photos!! And I super-duper love their new kitchen. Like ah-mazing! Everyone needs a wall of custom cabinetry!

So precious! (PS – How many of your friends have JUST had babies??? At least 3 if I’m counting correctly!)
Katie says
Good question Ashley. Let’s see – since this spring, there have been lots of babies….here’s the list: Brook who had Maggie, Julia had Ethan, Austin had Noah & Silas, Jill had Lola, Kate had Caleb, Sherry had Clara, Kristin had Robin, and my friend Ellen’s new arrival is Dominic (who’s an adoption baby!). And there are more preggo…geesh.
Gotta love it when you are surrounded by newbies 🙂

Super cute little girl and great photos!
I LOVE editing too! But, I love it even more when there isn’t anything about a photo I can think to change!

those baby lips are so cute!

She’s cute! But I’m loving Will’s Steeler’s shirt!!!
Sherry @ Young House Love says
Clara is heartbroken. Will was her first love and now he’s hanging out with Lola? Luckily he hasn’t seen her in her new sleeper (it’s pink and it’s adorable) so she’s fairly confident that she’ll get her man back.

Whoa…Will just squeeled. I think just the mention of Clara in her nightie is enough to make him burp up breastmilk. Boys.

Love these photos! What a cute idea with the basket. I too love to take pictures of my kidlets, but sadly don*t know how to Photoshop. So, since you like doing it so much….wink, wink.
Hahaha…anyways, love your blog. Keep on keeping on! 🙂

Aw…beautiful girl, beautiful name. I’m partial to the name Lola because it was my grandmother’s name and is now my daughter’s name as well. Good choice!
