I thought it would be fun to look back and see all the decorations we have done in the past for Halloween! Kinda like a Halloween parade of sorts. Parades are always fun! I should know, I am like a parade-aholic. It doesn’t matter if the parade is of marching ants….I am breaking out the camera and cheering them onward! I wish I were kidding but I am not. Not at all. I am really. really. obsessed. with parades.
The first little recap is of our exterior decorating. We have done everything from silly monsters out of topiaries to a duct tape and drop cloth spiderweb rug. I don’t really believe in spending a whole lot of money for Halloween decorations except when it comes to mums and a plethora of pumpkins….I will seriously throw a wad of cash at the pumpkin farmer and run outta there with a trailer full of those babies.
HALLOWEEN EXTERIOR
I would love to create an entire Halloween themed HOUSE but sometimes that is just not feasible….ya know, with the sixteen to twenty diapers a day we have to change around here. So I have discovered that if I just create one table or one area that is all holiday themed, it helps put us in the spirit but doesn’t take too long to set up. And it is a whole lot easier to clean up at the end of the day 🙂 Here are some of the past Halloween tables that boast everything from an easy mummy vase to dollar store skulls (painted black!) to paper spiders crawling up the walls!
HALLOWEEN TABLES
Nothing says Halloween like a good ole carved pumpkin! We have done our share of making fun and not-so-scary creations. My favorites were the ‘studded’ pumpkin (Will got to hammer in the nails!) and the spider pumpkin made from plumbing supplies 🙂
HALLOWEEN PUMPKINS
Sometimes there is that random segment in the parade when all of a sudden people are just gathered together and handing out candy and maybe a horse is in the mix. I love the randoms. Here are a bunch of things we have done in the past that scream Halloween to me and that get us in the holiday spirit. (I put the links for these because some of you may need instructions)
HALLOWEEN RANDOMS
Spooky snail mail from your little ones foot print! It glows in the dark!
We make a list each year of seasonal things we want to do….here’s one from 2012.
Full tutorial on how to make a glow-in-the-dark mummy wreath
If graveyards are your thing – you can make these cheap headstones & crosses for cheap!
And because I know you guys might want to see all the past characters outfits we have worn (or not worn), here is a little blast from the past with our costume parade! You can tell we try to keep the costumes less scary and more fun! (except for that one of me in the woods…that’s pure terror) I can not wait to see what the boys pick out this year!
HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
So now I gotta get back to my bins! It’s time to break out the Halloween decor and get spooktacular up in here!

Love all your ideas! And love all of yalls costumes. If you find any time to watch tv…you have to watch the latest episode of The Goldbergs. The mom wears coordinating costumes for a wee bit too long. Super funny. Your pics reminded me of it. 🙂 Although matching costumes with your littles is PRECIOUS.
