Great Giveaway – Olympic Paint

Remember that post where I showed you our newly finished basement?  Yeah.  The one from yesterday.  I had mentioned how easy it was to pick out the paint for the rooms.  It was so simple because I adore Olympic paint.  And I am back to bring you the down-low on my picks for our new space:

First of all – I am not endorsed by Olympic.  Olympic knows me just as much as Ashton Kutcher does.  As in – not at all.

Secondly – I wouldn’t recommend something that I don’t have – but this brand?  It is actually used all over the house – go ahead, check the source list.  So it was a shoo-in for the basement makeover.

And #C – It is uber-eco-friendly AND affordable!

Even their paint cans got a greener facelift recently in celebration of their commitment to environmentally safe products.  Not only are they low odor but their formula has zero VOC’s (which is good news for all you breathing people out there!) .   That means that your newly painted room will be beautiful for the eyes and for the lungs.  And do you see that little seal there on the bottom of the can?  That is the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval…yeah, I have one of those on my patootie too.  It means we are F to the iiiine!

    I was just at Lowe’s yesterday checking out Olympic’s paint line–specifically dusty trail, toasted almond, and stonington for my living room–I can’t decide. When we first moved into our cape code two years ago, I had this crazy idea to paint our tiny living room red and now I can’t stand it! It needs some neutral paint to make it seem brighter and bigger!

    I’m actually mid-bathroom redo (the tile resurfacing guy is in my bathroom as we speak!) so I would absolutely love some paint for my bathroom! If I can’t get that in time, the guest bedroom has had the same sloppy white semi-gloss on its walls since we moved in six years ago, and painting that room has been on my To Do list for just as long.

  17. Can I confess something? I’ve never seen Olympic paint in a store. Am I clueless or is it a regional brand. Because with your raves, I might have just found my new paint brand if I can get it out here in the wild west.

    And obv PAINT ME PRETTY. We have a basement finishing project of our own on its way (thanks to your awesome advice) and It’s going to need some paint when it’s done. You know, in like 6 months.

  29. First comment? Wow. PAINT ME PRETTY! I would paint my guest bedroom. I’ve had the house for 6 years, you’d think I’d have done something by now. So far, the only color in there is a splotch of a horrible purple as a test (no, I don’t know what I was thinking). Fortunately, it’s small enough to cover with a framed photo!

    I just used Olympic Paint to re-do the bathroom at our church and it looks great! I am also going to be using your tutorial on framing mirrors, because we have to frame two mirrors in there, too. You are so very helpful 🙂

    I would use the colors to paint my basement (soft gray or blue) or my office (maybe limey green?) I am getting ready to move into my very first house and it’s such a big project. This would be an amazingly awesome giveaway!!

  37. Paint me Pretty – We moved into our new/old house in March. Haven’t started one.single.project. I need to paint the kitchen from top to bottom . . have I mentioned that there is a wall of faux wood paneling in there? Paneling, in the kitchen. Yes, it is atrocious. So I need to prime/paint that, and strip wallpaper off the rest and paint the whole dang thing. I really hope I win. 🙂

    I have some hand me down furniture that desperately needs a face lift. My dining room table is currently a creamy, white color (which I love) but it’s stained from the many meals eaten there before me. Fresh paint would make it look brand new. A coat of paint and new hardware would really make my fiance’s dresser much easier on the eyes. I would love to get a dusty light blue or pale green or even a buttercup mellow yellow to add some personality to our little abode. **I’m crossing my fingers!**

    I would paint our guest bedroom.. When we first moved in, we just slapped some random beige paint that our inlaws gave us on the wall to cover up the ugly walls that were gray and scuffed up. I would love to be able to pick out exactly what color we wanted and make the room beautiful 🙂

  433. I have a room screaming “PAINT ME PRETTY” and its my kitchen. It has country wallpaper from when we moved in 8 years ago (the 4 year old has been ripping off the paper, to make it look worse).     I would paint my bedroom! I just used Olympic paint this last week to paint my son’s room. It took 7 hours but I did it in one day and I love it! I even used a Waverly color choice and had them put it in the Olympic. Love this paint and the price is so right!

  458. “Paint Me Prettty” is what our kitchen is screaming out to us everytime we walk in the room. It is the room we probably spend most of our time in and the room that needs painting the most! How ironic is that? I think we know how much we love being in the kitchen so the idea of having it “out of commision” while we paint it is is the driving force that keeps us from doing it!   480. I would love to paint my front room. We don’t really use it and so I didn’t spend much time decorating it or anything like that but its the first thing that anyone sees walking into the house so I’d like to brighten it up a little with some paint. I think a really pretty teal color would be great.
