I don’t know if you have noticed but we are trying hard to get more regular with giveaways.  I like free stuff.  You like free stuff.  It’s supposed to be an extra post for me each week…making sure you get your bony little fingers on more loot.  (let’s face it…we all work our fingers to the bone and if we can get our hands on extra stuff, we would throw an elbow)…and I hope that you all still like the booty (not mine…although I must confess, twerking with baby junk in the trunk is cray-zay.)

Last month, I kinda fell off the giveaway wagon.  I only had one.  I’m trying to make up for that.  But first my excuses…I explained that I was sick (thanks for all the well-wishing…I definitely think that I am on the mend…which is nice because that means no meds going to Baby LJ) but also, I was crazy anxious about this upcoming gifting season.  I have Jeremy’s, Nornie’s (my lil sis), my Dad’s, Weston’s, and 1305 friends with birthdays in November and December.  Plus Christmas.  If I were responsible, I would have hoarded gifts for them all year.  But you know me.  Hoarding…yes.  Responsible…work in progress.

Plus, did anyone notice that Thanksgiving was a week later than normal?  I feel like I lost out on a week of Christmas shopping.  And apparently so did retailers, because they are offering a bunch of discounts right now.

Okay…so that is my open door to introduce you to my newest obsession…Chippmunk.com

It is a mega-moolah saver.  You go to the site, punch in the store you need a coupon code or discount or sale info on….and boom.  done.  There are a lot of other filters to use (like finding out which stores offer in-store pickup, or who can offer standard delivery in 2 days, or who delivers internationally, or what credit card they take…the filters are awesome).  My favorite is the limit-my-budget filter…because let’s face it, I don’t dig spending hours looking through hundreds of coupons for ones that actually fit my budget.

Let’s explain how this works.  One of my favorite stores for Will’s clothing is The Children’s Place.  Let’s say I was in a rush to get some cute things for Will’s wardrobe…so I click on Chippmunk.com and go immediately and filter the thing with a $100 budget and the store name…

Notice I did not need to leave an email address or fill out ten pages of paperwork or give a blood sample to sign up.  I just start searching.  Then I see the coupons or online codes or sales available…

30% off?  Done.  I just click ‘get the code’ and it immediately opens the window with my code in it and the window for online shopping to happen at The Children’s Place.

And in my mind, saving 30% means I get 30% more for free.  (the math there is shaky…but in my sleep-deprived world it makes sense).  For instance…let’s go shopping together…

  19. I’m not a “vegetarian” per se, I just don’t eat meat. All my boyfriend has talked about is his famous Christmas roast. So, my gift to him is that I will eat his roast. Thus, I would buy him a nice roasting pan from Williams-Sonoma to facilitate the big dinner 🙂

  37. Oh my goodness is many stores to choose from! I’d probably go with my old favorite Target. Or maybe go with a store that I love but don’t ever shop at because I can’t usually afford it like anthropologie!

I’d like to say I’d be productive and use it at the Container Store to organize my apartment, or Casa.com to buys some much needed accessories for it, but I would most likely end up with new glasses from 39dollarglasses.com because I HATE the ones I currently wear. I don’t even know where to start… Gap for the whole family’s wardrobe, Target for everything under the sun (clothes, home goods, groceries, etc.), JCrew to make things affordable (I don’t normally splurge there), Victoria’s Secret for bras! Then there was a coupon to get $10 for every $50 spent, so I would have more shopping to do!! Yippee. I love my kitchen and would buy a few gadgets I’ve had my eye on, but I’m waiting to see what I get for Christmas first. I really want the KitchenAid 13c. food processor, so with my $100 birthday gift card and the $100 prize gift card and free shipping, my own expense would be about 1/3 of the cost. Woohoo!!
