Great Giveaway – Ashley Percival Prints

Remember when I talked about my newly fashioned gallery wall in Will’s room?

And remember when I showed ya the little masculine wolf print that I absolutely adore and I told you that Ashley sent me it and she is absolutely talented?

Yeah.

So…she is a he.

Ashley is a dude.

Yup.

I did that.

Online.

In front of everyone.  Including Ashley who OBVIOUSLY is a very masculine man with man bits and no girl parts….my bad dude.  And Ashley, if it makes you feel any better, I have also asked very nonpregnant women when they are due while rubbing their bellies, falsely assumed two staight guy friends were partners, and have inadvertantly called my mother-in-law the wrong name…the name of my other mother-in-law.  Yeah.  I’m that girl.

He has already has his work licensed by Urban Outfitters for T-shirts and will soon have his work on other products.

  32. I need some pretty percival prints in our guest bedroom! After we finished painting and setting up the furniture in there I called it done. Now the walls are looking kinda empty. I’d love to have some fancy artwork to hang up… Also, don’t be embarrassed, it happenes to the best of us. He sounds like an awesome guy, he was probably pretty gracious about it…

    I feel your pain of doing weird/awful think before you speak moments! My worst moment was when a friend of mine showed me a picture of her riding a horse (in my defense SHE had jeans, a long sleeved western shirt and big ol’ cowboy hat on) and she said, “This is the new man in my life.” And I oh so casually said, “Oh who’s the guy?” When she commented back, “The ‘guy’ is ME, I was talking about the horse being the man in my life.” OH MY did I walk right into that one! :-/ Oh and it was in front of about 10 people…yep I’m that girl!

    On that note…I would love a print from Ashley to put right next to our sofa and above our end table. It’s one of those weird spaces that needs just a little something!

    Ashley, I feel your pain man. I named my son Loren, so we get this all the time – even at the pediatrician’s office. “And how is she doing?” is always the first question we get from the nurses. “Well, *he* is doing pretty well, actually…” is usually my subtle retort. No biggie, it happens all the time.

    We’re no dummies. We knew what we would get with “a boy named Sue” so to speak. My dad’s name is Laurie, and my wife’s grandfather’s name is Lauren (dual inspiration for our son’s name). This sort of mix up is nothing new for us.

    Got two funny stories, though:

    My brother-in-law’s name is Ashley, too. My husband had a hell of a time getting his life insurance company to recognize that he wanted his BROTHER to get the money. He spent more than a few weeks at a time trying to get them to understand that their mother had a thing for “Gone with the Wind”. I think that problem finally got resolved by him marrying me. 😀

    Ashley is married to an awesome girl, and they were together for a very long time before finally getting hitched. Their medical insurance (I don’t know which company, or who was the policy holder) figured that they were a same-sex couple and covered them both before they got married!

    Oh, and don’t worry Katie: I’ve done some major foot-in-mouth stuff (called my dad’s new girlfriend by my mom’s name, run through the ENTIRE immediate family names before finally getting the right one), and I’m no longer allowed to touch people without seeing their face first. 😀

    We need some whimsy in every room of our house! When we moved in (almost 9 months ago) we thought this would be a very temporary living situation. So we have done no painting and little decorating to make it feel comfortable and “lived in.” It turns out this temporary home is not as temporary as we thought it would be!
