This Amy Butler print would look just DAHLING in a little girl’s bedroom.  Or in a nursery.  Love the combination of girly flower art with shades of blue.  It pleases the girlie-girl and the tomboy in me 🙂

And while we are on the nursery kick…let’s talk about this one for a baby boy’s abode.  Simple and mod, it is super happy.

I love me some Thomaspaul…and this graphic coral art really tickles my toes.  It could be the modern touch in a blue & white seaside retreat or the crowning glory in a lofty townhouse.  Gotta love a versatile piece of scrumptiousness!

Can you imagine this in my den?  Now let’s all say it together – FAHHHHbooolus.  I have never wanted to be an artistic rendition of an owl more than I do at this moment.  I would fly into those birch saplings and never leave.

And last, but most certainly not least, we have this piece from Rodney White.  It really speaks to me.  No literally.  It says “Perfection leaves nothing else to discover”.  So often I forget that….not that I am perfect.  But I wouldn’t mind if other people thought so.  And leaving that desire behind…well, that would be pretty awesome.  I would then be less  Stepford wife and more Christopher Columbus.  Let’s not tell Jeremy though.

    I’m a photography lover at heart but I like all kinds of art. I’ve always liked vintage posters/ads like old school Chanel ads or magazine covers. They look great grouped together or solo. Oh and I love anything pink, it makes me happy.

    I really do! Being a custom picture framer I get to look at the amazing art that people bring in everyday. I’m not sure I could pick just one style as I love them all…but I do have an affinity towards abstract art. 🙂

    I have all kinds of random art in my house — pen and ink, photraphy, botanical, portraite style, etc. I’m just missing modern and abstract art, although one piece I have might be considered abstract. I tend to like pieces that have meaning — things that have been in my family, things I’ve found on various travels; I have a framed dishtowel in my dining room that my mom brought back to my grandparents from a trip to Ireland they had framed that hung in their home for as long as I can remember.

    Hmm, my favorite type of art is hard to place. I’m not particular about the medium, but the art has to be able to pull me in and want to live in it, or remind me of something really great. I’m not a fan of modern art, I understand the concept, but I just can’t get my pea brain to appreciate it. But I love some of the older paintings like “The Wedding Feast at Cana”. Wow, that would be awesome if I could win a full size replica of that monster!!!

    I love abstract art- like just blocks of colors. Some lass abstract is good too- but nothing that looks too “real.” This is a problem because my husband likes stuff that looks “real.” It is going to be a challenge to decorate.

    I love those photographs that are extreme closeups of ordinary things – like a butterfly wing. Really closeup you can see all the colors and texture and it doesn’t look anything like a bug’s wing. Very cool.

    I’ve always known what I like, which might not necessarily be considered “art.”
    Now, though, everything can be art, and I’ve discovered that the kind of art I “like” varies.
    For the most part it’s realism, not a lot of abstract, although I do find myself gravitating to some graphic pieces, pieces where color is more the focus, or shape, rather than the “picture.”
    I have 2 new fireplaces which “need” some art hung over them – I SOOOO hope Mr. Random Integer Generator picks me to win this prize!!!!

  388. I love the art, but my favorite, by far, are the suprises I see and learn from God in nature. I was on a walk the other day, and saw a leaf on the ground that was in the shape of a heart. At first, I thought-Heather, you’re a dork. But I was really excited about it, it was beauty in an unexpected place. And it was a little piece of art that, on that day, I didn’t drive past or step on, or have to pay for to appreciate and have.

    My fave kind of art is BIG and starts good conversation. I have a lot of photography taken by friends, a few of my own photos, and also stuff from where I’ve traveled — like a framed rice sack from Peru.

    I majored in Art History in college because I am absolutely taken with the power of art, and its omnipresence around the globe, in every culture. It has a deep-seated importance that can be difficult to describe, a pull that can be almost painful in its beauty. And as much as I enjoy the academic dissection of a piece, I find a certain deliciousness in ones that strike me speechless.

    Lately, I have been drawn toward a dichotomy of pieces – intricately detailed black and white photography, and richly hued, two-dimentional prints, either of organic or human subjects. So, yeah.

    One of my favorite pieces of art is the pen sketch that we picked up on our honeymoon in Mexico from a guy drawing underneath a bridge – for $5. Add matte and frame and it looks like a million bucks!
