Consider me officially tooting the horn of Frog Tape. I am the conductor on the Froggy Train people. I am the Jane to their loin-cloth-wearing-vine-swinging-Tarzanian-painter-tape-skills. I am the tuba player in the Frog Tape band.
Ever since they came out with their green painters tape, I have been a fan. I used it ever since our old house (here is an oldie about us using it during our crown molding installation) and will continue to use it until my fingers turn green and fall off. I. love. it. So it made perfect sense for me to join the team of other clean-painters-line-admiring bloggers to bring to you FrogTape sponsored projects. It goes without saying that I will be tackling things that I would have done anyway with the help of my favorite tape…just wanted to throw that out there.
When I found out who was on the FrogTape Blog Squad, it confirmed in my mind that this was a team I would be proud of. Some of these bloggers are old friends…some new…but we are all kindred in the fact that we all have high standards about perfect paint lines. I am very very honored to introduce to you these fine folks…please share the love with them and tell em I sent ya with full permission to give em inappropriate public displays of affection 🙂

And because I didn’t want this to be just a post about my new venture…I thought I’d share with ya a little office storage project I did. Supplies were Frog Tape and an Xacto knife (we call these scalpels in our house…we may watch too many ER related tv shows).
I found this tin at the thrift store…it was half off day so I got it for a whopping twenty five cents. plus tax mind you. which makes it like 27 big ole shiny ones. Anyhoo. I loved the simple blue green color and the fact that it was relatively clean. Can’t beat a clean tin with a stick.
You could but then you would be wasting twenty seven cents.
I thought at first that I would paint some bright red stripes on it. Then I got to thinking about how it might be cute with a pattern…a la hole punched painters tape making it more interesting. Then I decided to do a chevron pattern.
Finally, I just said heck…put the tape on it and decide later.
Low and behold I kinda love just the stripes in green. Maybe because it goes well with the green bookshelf….maybe because it is super happy and vibrant….maybe because it reminds me of the washi tape that is oh-so-popular with crafters right now…or maybe it’s because it’s totally non-commital. Whatever the reason, it struck me as finished and I love it as is.
So basically this is like painters tape crafting without the paint.
Inside I keep Will’s markers. I just stocked up from all the back-to-school sales. Gotta love a fresh set of Crayolas in fun shades like tangerine.
So am I nuts? Is colored tape not as cool to you as it is to me? Because I sometimes question the coolness of things I do…it’s my inner homeschooler coming out…just gotta make sure that tape on a tin is not gonna push me into the weird zone. As if this past post didn’t already do that. Ever use painters tape just as is?
p.s. I didn’t realize but Frog Tape has a Blog Squad page – go check out some of the other projects done by my fellow bloggers!
This is a sponsored post brought to you by FrogTape. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

It’s A Breeze!
My favorite baby item is probably the boppy pillow. It comes in SO handy!

It’s a breeze! My favorite baby item is the Papasan Little Lamb swing. My son slept in it for 3 months and it kept him happy and quiet for a long time. My second favorite is the Jumperoo, also kept him happy and entertained for when he was a little guy.

Love the taped tin!! It’s so cute! I’m going to try Frog Tape next time I buy some. I’ve been reading so many great reviews for it that I feel like I’m missing out!
Carolyn says
I know where the tin comes from! They were filled with fancy chocolate covered pretzels and brittles and such at Target a couple of months ago. Part of their “Shoppes” line. I bought it just for the tin when it went 50% off, but the pretzels were a nice little bonus.

I think my favorite baby item is probably the boppy lounger. My kids loved it when they were infants!
Stacey says
I love the colors together…so I say not weird at all to leave the tape and call it good 🙂
Amy says
Love this! It looks great as is — and you can switch it up whenever you want. Perfect.
Alexi says
I love your shelf styling in your office! You have such fun accessories!
Susannah says
That tin looks so great! What a fun use of fun colored tape. 🙂
Adri says
I LOVE it! I think the texture in the tape just gives it a little extra something. And, as a former homeschooler, I feel qualified to say that this post does not push you into the weird zone. Although, maybe since I’m a former homeschooler, I have a weird definition of weird?

I LOVE FROG TAPE!! I will never paint again without it. In fact, I was at Home Depot this weekend, and a lady was asking the paint person about it. She didn’t really have much to say about it, so I (butted in) kindly said excuse me… but that stuff is great. We had a 20 minute conversation, and my audience grew to about 10 people. Maybe I should go work for them, everyone around me walked out of the store with at least 3 rolls!!

Please tell me you know about washi tape. Frog Tape is a very pretty shade of green, but washi tape has all kinds of colors and patterns. You should totally check it out! Search for “Japanese washi tape” in Amazon.

It’s a breeze! My favorite baby item is classical music CDs. Both our kids love them!

Oops. Embarrassing! This is the wrong post. Ignore me please!

I was totally rocking out to Gettin Jiggy With It when I came to your page and saw your post title. Really strange coincidence.
I love new markers. I bought myself a pack during a back to school sale. I got the thin Crayolas but after seeing Will’s box of fat markers I might have to go get another pack. Nothing compairs to new markers.

You make me want to be a better thrifter. 🙂

I paid $10 for that same tin, but it was filled with chocolate covered caramels! Haha It was from one of those Shoppes at Target this summer.
Maribel says
is that a mini version of your DIY painting near your stairs?

I have yet to try frog tape…but I love your box! Good idea and easy peasy! Off to get some frog tape! Lol. Brooke

The tin looks SUPER cute with the painters tape! I actually have the same tin…it’s from Target and originally had some yummy salted caramel chocolates in it. I know this, because someone gifted it to my office, and, like the design-loving, cheapo that I am, I waited til everyone had consumed the chocolates then shamelessly asked if I could take the tin!

So fun!! A side question – where did you get your white octopus from? (it’s in the pic on the top of your green bookcase) I am in love with it!!
Mandi H says
I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how long froggy tape can stay on the walls – before it damages the paint underneath. I have a room to paint, but it will be a process if you know what I mean – tape one night, tape the next, paint, paint, paint… etc. I am hoping to leave it up for a week or so!

It’s a breeze! the Ergo baby, hands down, what with hiking and all 🙂

Well since I’m currently 32 weeks preggers with our first I can’t say I have a favorite baby item yet, but I have my eyes on that 4 moms Mamaroo….the thing looks amazing – not to mention it’s not a space hog like all those other swings & bouncers out there. I have heard that it’s important to splurge on the newer model (not the one from last year) because it’s speed is faster and most babies tend to like it better…..I guess we’ll see!
Ashley@AttemptsAtDomestication says
Dont shoot me, but I still have never used Frog Tape… I totally need to hop on that!
Caitlin @ Desert Domicile says
It looks great! Aqua and green wouldn’t have been a color combo I would’ve thought of but it works and looks good 🙂
Brenda says
I got kind of distracted trying to remember where you had a green bookshelf in your house, then I figured out it was your office. I love the non-committal aspect of the tape, although my favorite part is always peeling it off post-painting to see the clean lines.
Joya says
It’s a breeze! Our little girl loves her taggie – it keeps her busy and happy if we go anywhere in the car!
Katie says
It was a gift from my darling boyfriend 🙂 He got it at ZGallerie I believe. It arrived the first week he went into the office and no longer was home with me working from the basement. I had a rough go of it and he got it for me because he knew I would love it and because sometimes presents make everything better 🙂

No, you are not nuts. I have always been a sucker for any kind of office supplies.
Love the green stripes with the bookcase!

Your tin looks really cute and it’s nice to know I’m not the only one to use painter’s tape as-is! I decoupaged some of my old sketches onto the doors of my art supply cabinet and taped around the edges, intending to paint over the white borders. Then I couldn’t decide what color and ultimately (feeling lazy and commitment-phobic) decided I liked it the way it was. I think the color works and it kinda goes with the artsy-fartsy theme in my studio, being painter’s tape and all 🙂
So yeah, thanks for making me feel less weird about that…
Jenna at Homeslice says
I’ve never used painters tape as is, but no worries girl. It looks rockin. Now tell me… since you are the tuba player after all… is frog tape really the best? I haven’t used it but I’m always wondering how the brands stack up against each other.
Katie says
I am brutally honest…and yes, I have found that it works better for me. It is pressure activated, so I always recommend that when you put it up, you put it in place and then rub your library card, or a credit card or a stir stick (something thin and firm) on it so the edge gets sealed.

We loved the green color of the Frog Tape after taping off our write edging that we chose to paint our office a kelly green color…and then used the tape to paint our curtains!

I don’t use painters tape when painting but I do like to use Frog Tape for a plethora of other projects. I haven’t decorated a tin with it though…at least not yet. 🙂

haha…I was gonna list you as The Uber-famous-Roeshel…do people recognize you on the street after the magazines all feature you? Because I think I would probably be a raving lunatic fan that asked you to sign my bra or something weird 🙂

I love it!! I was actually working on my first FT project yesterday and using the yellow tape and once I had it all taped up I thought, hmmm, maybe I should just leave it like this. I didn’t because I was afraid my family would mock me for being lazy, which they likely would have. I love the look of the green tape on the box and like you said, you can always change it up later.

It’s a breeze! My favorite for this baby (my#3!) has been the Fischer Price rock n play thing. It’s a great bassinet/bouncer thing all in one!
