Mother’s Day is this Sunday.  You ready?!  I gotta buy one more box of Kleenex 🙂

It’s hard for me to really express all I am feeling right now.  I don’t know if other mama’s understand or if I just feel too much…but for me, becoming a mother to a tiny perfect human was terrifying and exhilarating and beautiful all at the same time.  I was taught by my first babe how to truly love, how to sacrifice, how to be afraid, how to devote myself to a cause, how to forgive myself….all those things and so much more.  And I have the scars to show for it….real flesh wounds that have healed over and now remind me of my little guys….the c-section scar from my first day of motherhood, a scratch near my eye from little fingers exploring my face while nursing, one on my ankle from being accidentally hit by a two year old on a Power Wheels, a burn mark on my wrist from saving a little hand from a hot exhaust…the list goes on and on.  And I love those scars.  We moms proudly wear those physical and emotional warrior marks.  We shout our love from the sidelines of baseball fields and laugh at silly preschool jokes and celebrate successful toddler bathroom visits.  Our journey is not one that is just about us and what we want but about self-sacrificing love.  And that is why I wanted to celebrate this coming Mother’s day in a really special way.

(Just so you know….I’m totally sobbing right now just thinking about these little reminders of my babies and how much I love them.  It’s amazing how a little gem can stir up so much emotion!)

  20. I would get the gemstone cluster stud earrings in white gold with citrine, green tourmaline, and diamond. Those are the birthstones of my hubby, daughter, and son.

    On another note, I love Gemvara!! After your post about the ring you had made for your mom, I went on the site and starting making a bunch of items. Finally for my 10 year wedding anniversary, my hubby gave me the ok to get something so I designed a stackable ring to go between my engagement and wedding rings. It has alternating green tourmaline and diamonds which as I said above are my kids birthstones. I absolutely love it!!

  58. I would get 2 stacking rings- 1 with my son’s birthstone- Green Tourmaline and the other with my daughter’s- Blue Sapphire. We got pregnant really easily with my son, but 3 years later things didn’t go so smooth and it took some time for g-d to send us our daughter. When I look at my kids- who love each other more than I could even ask for, I feel so blessed to be their mom. And they remind us of my dad and my husband’s grandma whom they were named for, both having passed away.

I also became a mom for the first time in April, and my big 4 yr old boy shares the same birthday as not only my sister (and best friend in the world) but also my best friend from high school who passed away when she was only 18.   105. I would get the Round Bracelet (3mm gem) in 14k white gold with a diamond because I simply don’t have a single silver/white gold bracelet and I’ve always loved diamonds. I believe in buying yourself jewelry that makes you feel special 🙂 the Stamped Initial Bracelet comes in a close second… I’d get white gold or silver with B for my new married name and a smoky quartz stone for Nov – the month we got married!

I am now mad at myself, for never recognizing that a smoky quartz pair of earrings would remind me of my own 2 beautiful brown eyed boys! I have brown eyes, and have always hated them.   604. Isn’t it funny how the universe sometimes works? Yesterday, my husband had to cut off the ring I’ve worn on my right hand since high school graduation. I’m 20 weeks pregnant and that ring in all honesty has been snug for years (it’s a size 3.5!) But I loved that ring and was sorry to see it go. I customized a Double Gem Disc Necklace with a silver chain and rose gold disc….the two gems I chose were tanzanite and blue sapphire..the color of the disc just brings out the blue and purple beautifully….not to mention my favorite colors….and honestly, this piece would be just for me since I find it to be absolutely beautiful.     Upon your recommendation, I ordered three items from Gemma Gray as a First Mother’s Day gift to myself, and I have been quite disappointed with Gemma Gray’s customer services. I still have not yet received my pieces and they continue to wait until the night before I am supposed to receive my order to let me know that there was a problem with something and it hadn’t shipped. This has happened twice now, and apparently I will only be receiving two of the three items. I hope I am as pleased as you were with the quality of the items… if I ever receive them :(. Anyway, just thought you’d like to know your reader’s experience with the vendors you recommend.

They even offered to give me one of my pieces for free. So, although initially, my experience wasn’t stellar, I very much appreciate and respect a company that makes up for it! And, I’m happy with the two beautiful pieces I just got today – the third will be coming next week!
