A couple months ago I saw an article in Woman’s Day(which by the way is $5 for a year subscription!) that was titled Handbags under $50….and they had like seven listed. seven. I was all geared up to dive into the world of affordable handbaggery and it was like that moment when you realize that your health teacher was right and your metabolism DOES slow with age. Thanks again for that Mr. Phillips. THANK YOU FOR NOTHING.

Anyhooo….I thought I could do one better…..let’s do LOTS of handbags under $50. let’s do FIFTY. And let’s make them cute to boot. So after scouring THOUSANDS of bags and so many sites that I may have carpal tunnel in my eyes….here are my favorite bags that are inexpensive and loaded with style. Click on any of the photos for the direct link and more details.
SATCHELS
Anyone that knows me knows that I am a satchel girl. My mother loves them and my sister loves them and I love them. We have the satchel gene. They are the thing that makes me feel human even if I am dressed like the hunchback of Notre Dame….it’s like if I get the stink eye in the grocery store because someone forgot to put on deodorant….okitwasme….I can just hold up my bag like the ultimate Ace card and be like BOOM. I am not a slob. I am just having a moment.
TOTES
Totes are totes adorbs. Sorry. Had to. But seriously….I love me a good tote for any weekend out and about. They were made for moms (or for anyone that likes to be prepared) and can hold everything you need for any diaper change, plus snacks and necessities. I love them and the reversible ones are just two bangs for the buck.
CLUTCHES
I’ve been looking at clutches with heart eyes lately. I guess that to me they symbolize every good thing in the world….date night….delicious restaurant food…potty trained children….showers….outfits that smell good…Jeremy Bower….and I need more of that in my life. So yeah….consider a clutch in situations where you don’t want to carry around something huge and need nothing more than a phone and a wallet.
CROSSBODY
Oh Crossbody bags….my current favorite. They are my go-to this fall and make getting ready easier than eating a whole sleeve of girl scout cookies. I also like the fact that they require no hands….because I don’t have enough of those as it is. Basically it’s a pocket that makes things accessible in a snap.
WILD CARDS
I had to include the wild cards because they are SUPER fun. All of them are. That little Santa bag would be the perfect addition to any Christmas party outfit and SO cute. That middle fringe bag may just look like a normal run-of-the-mill fab fringed bag….EXCEPT IT CHARGES YOUR PHONE. And that striped backpack? Made by the same people that make Baggu bags…you know…the little totes that are super fun and fashionable. Now they make backpacks! Who knew?! All of these are amazing…and yes, I need the bling.
So there you have it…lots of affordable bags just in time for the holidays. I know most budgets are tight around the holidays! These are some great options for those moms, sisters and BFFs! And maybe your favorite blogger…which I fully will scream if anyone sends me a bag. Seriously. Don’t do it. Unless you wanna….in which case, please and thank you 🙂
P.S. Amazon is having their $5 Magazine Sale on magazines like HGTV, House Beautiful, Real Simple, and even Sports Illustrated for the man in your life.

Your comment about holding up your purse like an ace card is great! I have four youngsters too, and most days, I’m just glad that we all got to the store with shoes on.
