Dearest Readers,
I would like to start out by thanking you.
Thank you so ( as in so,so,so,so) much. I never expected the editing service or Print Shop to be successful (I always try these things out fully anticipating complete and utter failure)….but you guys obviously wanted to beautify some photos…and I loved being able to be a small part in your christmas cards/wedding photos/facebook pics/family portraits. You should know that your financial support helps make this blog possible. And your emails make me smile like a bear in a marshmallow field. I loved being able to connect with so many of you – you made me laugh, cry and squint when you said you had wrinkles. Your photos were so precious, I wanted to share some of my favorite before & afters.
Here’s Aimee…
who looked amazing before…but wanted to get rid of the blue in her hair. Isn’t her skin amazing?
And there was Stacey’s family,
who was suffering from some speckled light issues. Now you don’t focus on the shadows, but the beautiful fam.
And there was this little Santa baby…
whose Mama took a great picture…but it needed a little boost. Check out her amazing eyes!
Santa Babies were pretty popular….like little Lucas,
whose mom set him up using the white sheet method and he struck the perfect pose.
Karen was one of the many who didn’t like something in the background of her family portrait…
But now you don’t even realize there was a screen back there…instead you wonder how the gene pool will compensate for that much goodlookingness.
And one of my absolute favs was Colette’s request. She wanted a bulk package for her recent party – the theme was Lumberjack….and she asked each guest to wear a fun plaid shirt and set up a white sheet background to make them pop.
Is that a giant fake beard? Sounds like my kinda party!
But seriously, aren’t those before & after’s fun? I just loved them so much I knew I had to share them.
I also have to share some love for December’s sponsor – Ally’s Willow House. Ally is a consultant for Willow House which is basically a high end home decor and home entertaining provider. Their products are sold at uber reasonable prices (and yes, they have an online store plus a catalog).
Have any Christmas money? Yeah…this is the place to go. But first, talk to Ally about hosting your own online party. She puts all the pieces in place…and then you get host rewards (discounts on Willow House goodies and FREE products). That way you can pocket more christmas cash and you still have things that make friends and families ooh and ahh.
Ready to see what I picked from their slew of awesomeness?
There were these mixong bowls…to die for…they would make an amazing gift…or perfect as a way to spring-ify your kitchen. They look like they were collected over time…and the little details…soo cute!
And the ribbon plate? Well, I have two of the predescors of this do-it-all-and-then-some dish…and pull them out every single time we have guests. Not only can I customize them with ribbon for the season, but they are food safe PLUS you can write on them and hang them on the wall…wouldn’t it just be darling with a menu? The ones pictured are their new classier version…like the big sister to my plain Jane.
Lastly, I wanted to show you their cinnabar baker dish. Okay…I know what you’re thinking…it’s a dish katie….whatever. But this dish is literally what makes me hate one of my friends. Every time she bakes ANYTHING in it, it looks amazing. Fish ? (which we don’t love…) AMAZING. Chicken? AMAZING. Casserole? AMAZING. It makes the food look better…and I think taste better too. I mean, I’m willing to chew on the artichoke printout of this photo…
So go shop! And tell her that Katie sent ya.
Thanks Ally for your support as well. I love having sponsors like you.
Have a safe New Year’s Eve’s Eve! And stay tuned for another project post tonight 🙂
Love and kisses from my PaulaDeenKnockoffLine to yours 🙂

Stacey says
Katie, THANK YOU!!! You saved the day as far as our little DIY family picture is concerned. And I love it! It looks amazing and so worth the investment…would’ve paid double! Thanks again!
Katie says
Aww thanks Stacey…
I still talk to Jeremy about the little curls on your baby girl…too cute…and pretty much a fantasy since Jer’s hair is poker straight and mine is only a little wavy.

Hi Heidi,
Check out the photography tab on the top navigation bar. In that section, you can see links to how I brighten photos and how I make them eyeballs pop out 🙂 Sounds gross but it ain’t.

katie,
I share your deep love for all things bacon…and I love your bliggity-blog :0)
I’ve been a shady stalker for over a year now and never left a comment, but your before and after editing made me want to stand up help-group-style and raise my right hand and say, hello, my name is Bri and I’m a bowerpower-aholic. (and then everyone nods encouragingly and quietly claps…) Best wishes for a wonderful new year to you and your handsome men-folk!
Blessings!

I’m so impressed with your editing skills!! I’d have a lot less “throwaway” pics if I could edit like that! 😉

I was so thrilled to see my baby girl on the blog! Let me tell you, our Christmas cards were a HUGE hit, it made me feel pretty damn awesome when I was getting text messages and phone calls, JUST to tell me how great they were.
I will, no doubt, be using your services again. THANK YOU so much.
BTW, Will looks adorable all warm in his stroller in the Hobby Lobby post. Love him.
xoxo
