My heart is really full. I think I realized this week that I get ridiculously excited about Easter. Which is not anything news worthy…because honestly I love me any holiday where eating or crafts or decorating is involved. In fact, I vote that full moon nights be declared national holidays too…just so that there can be more food in my mouth, glue on my fingers and moon-shaped decor in the dollar spot at Target. Who’s with me?!
There’s not much to say here…this is our Easter photo recap. It’s self explanatory. Lots of Will-with-his-tongue-out and cuteness from my little munchkin.
I’m obsessed with this kid. He is exactly what I need. He is such a little bundle of joy and I want a million more little ones just like him. Seriously. He makes me want ten more babies. Which is ironic since he’s a bunny here…
Will was completely serious. I was dying. And I love how my little Tiger is such an agressive little guy until he starts holding his brother. melt. my.ovaries. down.
This year’s Easter baskets! What did you get your kids?
Weston got one of those soothing seahorses, a giraffe, a crabby rattle, a rubber ducky for the tub and a clear piggy bank )along with his ears). Will got a big brother tshirt, bubble bath, easter stickers, a bunny Pez dispenser, hot wheels, an alphabet puzzle, a trucks puzzle, a Thomas video, a butterfly net and candy. I may or may not have consumed the candy.
Oh and yes I did the man basket again for Jer. I can’t help it. Gift baskets are way easier than birthday presents or Christmas gifts.
Our most current family photo…I’m kinda obsessed with Weston’s drooling face in this.
So our easter celebration actually started on Thursday – we went to a Maundy Thursday dinner (a first for us since usually we just have a Seder), a flashlight easter egg hunt on Friday, a day of rest on Saturday (we cleaned the house a little but in general tackled no looming projects which was a huge relief), and on Sunday, we went to church, followed by a church egg hunt, then went to my mom’s for lunch and another egg hunt.
My mom had baskets for all the boys (Weston and my sister’s still-cookin’ baby).
Will’s basket had a new little outfit and some boots.
Bubble concentration…
By the time we got to the third egg hunt of the week, he finally understood the point…
My parents…Will and Cole don’t realize how lucky they are. yet.
Soooo what did y’all do? Anything fun? Anything pinteresty? We did the numbered egg matching game and decorating cardboard eggs this year from Pinterest….anything else for future reference? Hope it was eggcelent 🙂 sorry. had to.

KATIE…I am just obsessed with you and your little family. Does your sister have a blog, because I just can’t get enough of you guys. My husband and I are going through a hard time with work and really just life in general and reading your blog and seeing your family truly gives us hope for the future. Thanks and keep on writing.

Ok several things:
1. He is risen!!!
2. Your boys are so precious I cannot stand it. My teeth even hurt.
3. The photos are gorgeous, as usual.
4. Your whole family seems so wonderful. You are a blessed girl.
5. Will’s shorts and boots outfit is cracking me up. I love it.

Such a cute family pic! You look great, are you back at your pre-baby weight already!?!?! Tha’ts awesome!!!
I have the same tongue-out-while-concentrating syndrome. Kitchen floor got tiled this weekend and the tongue was out the entire time… My mom told me I used to do it when I was younger but I had no clue I still did, until the hubs so kindly pointed it out. Ugh.

tell us more about this flashlight egg hunt!!! i have never heard of this… sounds pre-tty cool
Amy @ drivethirtythree says
what a great family photo!! Will is a mini-Katie and Weston is a mini-Jeremy. So sweet!
Stephanie @ Sandpaper & Glue says
In that family photo of the 4 of you it is crazy how much Will looks just like you and Weston looks just like Jeremy! Wow! Glad you had a good Easter 🙂
April says
That Weston is too much cuteness for one blog! LOL He looks like a good target future-son-in-law for my baby girl cooking in the belly. Plus you and I would get along great in the craftiness arena.

Most of the time, I don’t want kids yet. Honestly. I am too selfish at this point in my life (ie. I love to sleep). But then I think of establishing all these fun holiday traditions and stuffing stockings and making Easter basket and dying eggs and babies with bunny ears oh my gosh, ovaries on fire. My mom thanks you, Katie 😉
m @ random musings says
Happy Easter to you too! Those boys surely do have their father’s eyes 🙂
Maura says
Man, you know how to make a lady “baby hungry.” Your boys are adorable. P.S. You look amazing in that shade of pink!
amy says
Ok – so how funny is that you have to take TWO one-a-day gummies? Just slays my kids every morning.
Courtney says
I love the idea of the man basket!!! We had a small Easter egg hunt in the yard and the girls got small baskets with a few gifts. It was a really low-key holiday.
Lori says
Very cute pictures of the boys! Are you letting your hair grow out?
Katie says
Haha…prebaby weight? no. nonono. I have about 15 more lbs and about 30 till I’m at a good bmi. I just hide it well 🙂

Is your dress from Old Navy?? If so, it’s adorable, and I have the same one 🙂 Which might make us dress BFFs which makes me very happy.

Katie! I am obsessed with Will’s Toms! I love them! So cute!

Your mom has a white carpet with three grandkids? She is a brave soul!! 🙂 Glad you had a lovely easter. Here’s a photo of our boy’s basket, is it weird that he got chocolate flavored lip balm? I was looking for non-candy alternatives…

Didn’t see this until after we did our Easter Egg Hunt, but I saw pictures where a friend tied balloons to each egg throughout the yard (a big ole country yard like yours) so that the little ones who don’t really understand the concept can snap to it quick! It looked soooo fun in the pictures and that way the 5 year olds didn’t beat out the 2 year olds!
Katie says
They are Toms. I think I got them off Zulily during a half off sale 🙂

Well since you ASKED, haha, yesss, we did have a few Pinteresty moments…or at least Pinterest-worthy. 😉 If I might say so MYSELF. 😉
Had a blast being creative with eggs this year and made me some LEOPARD print Easter eggs. Yes m’am. 🙂 –>http://hennablossom.com/?p=809
AND, come on…really, it’s ALL about the adorable babies and their adorable outfits. Our little man had on his Easter best. AH, baby suspenders! 🙂 –>http://hennablossom.com/?p=1239
Katie, I can’t believe how big Weston is getting already. You are so lucky to be surrounded by such handsome men! 🙂 xo

I thought that dress was from Old Navy! I bought the same one, but in hot pink. Then, I did a navy cardigan on top. When I saw that picture, I immediately thought that we had picked the same outfit but swapped in colors! Love your Easter recap!

I can’t believe you know what Maundy Thursday is!! I always grew up going to Maundy Thursday, but now it seems that barely anyone knows it’s a thing! I’m glad your Easter was so great; your family is beautiful!
Kaitlin says
Where did you get those cute egg holders in the first picture?
Mandy S. says
Looks like you guys had such a Happy Easter! It’s so much more fun with kiddos isn’t it?!
I must know where the crab rattle came from! It is adorable and I have a little set of twins who would love that!
Carol D says
I too want to know more about a flashlight egg hunt! With 10 grandkids, Nana needs new ideas 🙂
We did the kool-aid egg-dying and the shaving cream-food coloring swirls eggs, both from Pinterest. Both were great successes – you just have to be patient with the swirled eggs.
Blessings on you and your beautiful family!

My husband and I announced the impending arrival of our first baby at Easter with our parents and siblings. We put little pacifiers and tiny baby socks inside plastic eggs for them to open before we prayed for the meal. We didn’t tell them we were trying, so imagine their total surprise when they realized it wasn’t chocolate in those eggs! My sister even got their shocked reactions on video for us to replay over and over again 🙂
Sarah says
I love your Easter egg colors! We decided to get some wooden eggs this year to go with the real eggs, and to replace the plastic ones. (I’m sick of finding plastic eggs, or half of them, all over the house even months later.) We had fun painting them and I plan to do a tea stain on some of them, the “Mom” ones. I also made our Easter baskets out of theater boxes of candy and stapled ribbons for handles. And we made clothes pin and jelly bean butterflies to put in the baskets. Thank you Pinterest!
Happy Easter! He is risen!

Big boys and drooly faces… Melt! Makes me want to go wake up my toddler and baby boy from their nap and kiss their cheeks! Almost… 🙂 Love that Will has your face and Weston has the hubs. We’re the opposite, Wyatt has his daddy’s looks and my baby Weston is his mama’s

Basically they just hid the eggs and each kid had a flashlight. They did it just after sunset so it was still light enough to see where you were going but the colors of the eggs didn’t pop like it does in the daytime. I hear that glow sticks in eggs are fun too!

Inspired by this pin: http://pinterest.com/pin/267471665338796538/
My husband made this for our nursery: pic.twitter.com/SRoVGxo09A
It’s my grandmother’s dresser, which needed some small structural repairs, including one new drawer pull, which then became the elephant’s eye in the design. The blue also wraps around the side of the desser, so you can see it as you enter the room. I am so in love with it, and him.
Can’t wait for our little guy to get here and use it! 🙂
