If you are one of those house-lovin’ peeps that care to see all the angles of the Dream House – I created an easy way for you to get more of your fill. Click on the button that looks like this:
It’s in the sidebar just below Will’s Flickr button. And you can see all the nooks and crannies that didn’t make the cut for the house tour. All I ask is that if you have a question – put it here in the comments – I will be more likely to answer it. Just please don’t ask me questions that you know I will have no answer to…like math…or english…or school related topics in general. You know what? It might just be safer to not ask questions. Unless you are in the mood for a cheesy joke in response 🙂
Happy Touring!

Love the house, is huge, i’m already suffering for your heating receipt

Girrrrl! I am sooo excited for you. That house is going to be absolutely stunning once you get your hands on it. My thoughts:
~ I would never want to leave.
~ Your youth group kids are going to try to be there at all times.
~ I repainted “your” house in my mind in every single photo. Yeesh. Are you guys going to hire that out?!
~The downstairs toilet conveniently matches the blood-walls. 😉
~ I love all the arched doorways.
~ Like you mentioned, what in the world is up with the light fixtures?! Ugh.
~ Many of the photos were apparently taken on Dec 1. That’s my birthday, so I’m gonna go ahead and say that will bring you good luck! 😀

I saw in your wishlist you have a signing book. Is will learning how to sign to you? I have a friend who’s 6 mo old knows “all done” and “more” it seems like a great thing to start so early.
Ps- How do you get your “stuff” to show up in your wishlist? Do you add the separate pictures individually with links or have a way to list them all at once?
Cindy says
@Katilin, my son signed when he was a baby. “Milk, more, help, eat.” Pretty cool.

@ Cindy-
That’s so neat! No kiddos for me quite yet, but their on the radar now, so all these little hints/tips are great. This is one thing I’ll be doing whenever we have little ones.
Bri R. says
Katie, the house is gorge! All the light! All the moldings!
Can’t wait to see all the bower power-y goodness that you guys come up with to make it even more fab 🙂
Congrats!

When I see these pics, all I can think about is how amazing your house is going to look at Christmas. I can just see huge wreaths hanging on those beautiful double doors. Also, your kids are going to have a BLAST playing hide and seek in a few years.

I’m not a regular reader, but I will be now. Got linked over here from The Nest’s Decorating board. I LOVE, LOVE the house. The crown moldings are swoon-worthy! Please, please, please paint that foyer a Tiffany Blue or some other fun jewel-box color.
We are trying to close on our own 3,300 foot dream house which we hope to be in by March. Like yours it’s filled w/ bad paint and horrid light fixtures that need replacing. I’ll be taking notes, for sure. Good luck and congrats!

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!!!! I am so excited for you guys and praying that all goes well! What city is the home in (or county if you don’t want to give that info)?
Melissa says
This really is a dream home. Congrats to you guys! Can’t wait to see what you do to make it yours!
Chrissy Henry says
Did I mention that I think your dream home is AMAZING… pretty sure I did
FYI: I think that the people who lived here before thought that bright crazy colors and gold everything make for a classy house. In nearly every photo you can catch a glimpse of something gold! I am sure you have big plans for improvements and gold eliminating 😉 Can’t wait to watch the transformations!!!

This house is AMaZiNg. Twins on the way what are you not telling us???
Jenny @ Bakography says
As Rachel Zoe would say, I DIE over this house. Way jealous seeing as the hubs and I are still in a 2bd/2ba apt in Atlanta. One day 😉
Heather @ REOlisticRenovation says
Really holding myself back from jumping on a plane and moving to Atlanta! What an amazing house! Congratulations!
Lonely Wife Project says
This truly is a dreamhouse! The amount of space you have leaves me speechless 🙂 Congrats!
Emily says
The house is even better looking in these pictures. I’m surprised that I like any color in the house, but I really like the reading room. Thank you for posting all these pics and taking us all on your journey.

Love it. Loved it yesterday, love it today. Love it.

I am a new reader, but seriously…
I love your dream home! I love everything about the layout! Congratulations on finding your forever home!

What a beautiful home yall have been blessed with!!! It will be fun seeing how you make it “yours”! I was wondering how you found it – was it listed with an agent or did you drive by and see a sign or what. We live down in Columbus and have been looking into foreclosures. Would you do it over again or has the process been ridiculous? Thanks and best wishes with your new place!
Julianna says
this is beyond what any of us could have expected!!! i am so excited to see the transformation! the house is gorgeous!
Alison says
Katie, the woodwork in your new house is INSANE and by “INSANE” I mean “I AM INSANELY JEALOUS!!!!” Gorrrrrgeous. 🙂
Bethany says
So pretty! Wow, you guys are getting a steal! It looks like all the trim is cream. Do you think you’ll stick with that or paint it white?
valerie J. says
The new house is going to be beautiful when you gets your hands on it. I will say that cleaning that many square feet would scare the sleep pants and slippers off this stay at home mom. Maybe you could make Will a “dust mop onesie” so he could earn his keep. 🙂
Katie says
I want to paint it white but I think that will have to be a project that we wait a while on…or go room by room. Kinda stinks but since I am afraid of heights, there is little to no chance I will be painting trim on scaffolding.

WOW. Just “WOW”!! I’m in awe of your McMansion. I’m praying that things wrap up quickly!
I’m impressed with all the doors on the front of the house. I don’t quite understand it but I can see you hosting a grand ole southern picnic (i.e. “Gone With The Wind”) and opening them up to let the breeze through! I’m going to live out my fantasy world vicariously through you, thanks 🙂
Katie says
We found it on Zillow. It was literally the same day that the price had been dropped. I really feel at peace about the process. Honestly the scary thing to us is the renting or selling of our home. We’ve never done it before so we have found that to be the most stressful part.

Katie says
heehee…off to google “how to make dust mop onesie”

It’s about an hour outside of Atlanta. It’s in the country. That’s all I really care to divulge right now…but I am sure I’ll tell more later 🙂

Will is totally deficient with his hands. He just learned the pincer thing. So as much as I would hope he would sign…I don’t know if he’ll grasp (punned!!!) that anytime soon. We’ve been doing food and more and thank you and all done with him for months and months though…just in case 🙂
My wish list is all added separately…takes alot of time and is a pain in the patootie but it’s the only way I like it.

My husband was looking over my shoulder while I flipped through your pics!! (He also thinks your house is AWESOME!!) He noticed that the stone above the fireplace resembles a cross!! Totally meant to be your home.
Amanda says
Love love love this house! It has so much great potential and I know you’ll bring out the best in it. I think it’s interesting that the paint colors downstairs – aside from the bathroom, of course (yuck!) – seem to be at least somewhat normal and the upstairs colors are so crazy. I just can’t imagine someone looking at a room and saying, “You know what would be great in here? Pink on pink sponge paint and purple carpet. Perfect.” And all that gold has definitely got to go! But it really is a huge, gorgeous house! Congrats!
Alana says
How incredible! It will be so fun to see what you guys do with such a gorgeous canvas to start with. Can’t wait to follow along 🙂

THAT. HOUSE. IS. NUTS!
I have a signing book that I bought when the girls were young. Never used it. It’s yours if you’d like it, just drop me an e-mail…XXxx.
PS. Can you see my email addy from there? x.
Bethany says
Yes, it will be quite a big job! I’m over in Cobb County, and I’d be willing to come help for the price of a tour of that awesome house! 😉
Sonda Jordan says
Oh Katie, God is so good!!!! Thanks for sharing your story with us!!!!!
amy says
It looks…..dusty!
Nah, really, it’s a fantastic house. Congratulations!
Oh, and it really killed my eyes adjusting to each room color in the slide show. 🙂
Alissa says
So excited for you guys!
On the video tour, in a brief shot through the window it seemed like there was a big circle in front of your house. Does that mean y’all got the “preferably in a cul-de-sac” that you were hoping for?
Cait @ Hernando House says
I was pouring over these pictures on my phone last night (since my laptop decided to bite the big one) until the battery died. LOVE THEM! Still so, so excited for y’all!
Katie says
The house is in a cul-de-sac but it also has a circular drive – that’s probably what you see 🙂

Rebecca says
LOVE your dream house!! I love pouring over all the pictures! Praying the process goes smoothly and on time!
kat says
Love the master – are you going to put a sitting area or something over where the wood floor is in there?
The playroom will be great for hiding Will’s toys! Bit of an odd layout though – it looks a bit dark too, maybe it could use a bigger window?
Katie says
Actually Kat I’ve been thinking that it would be an AMAZING spot to shoot babies. That sounds weird unless you know I like taking photos. We’ve talked about a LOT of options…most of them are more leaning toward sitting area/daybed/small scale sofa type space.
And yes – the playnook is definitely dark – but we hope once that we get some lighting in there it will help. Plus we have a space that we love in the basement for a play area too…so one could be more bright and airy and the other intimate and cozy 🙂

Alicia says
Okay, but seriously … why all those doors!? Do you know the reasoning behind it??
Katie says
Don’t have a clue. My only thought was that they visited a tropical place that had great breezes..and wanted to bring that home.

Julie says
You have four of my dreams… an island, beautiful hardwood floors, molding, and a double oven. Can’t wait to see you put your touch on the place!
Alicia says
OHMIGOSH I just had an awesome idea for the play nook. Jungle-themed reading nook. Paint the walls a jungle theme, LOTS of pillows/bean bags, and a little table/chair set! I’m going to go on a little bit of a memory lane adventure right now: The Border’s book store in my hometown has a jungle nook underneath the stairwell leading to the second level … The children’s section was surrounding it, so while parents were looking for their books, kids could sprawl out with a book or two! It was THE COOLEST thing ever!
Cindy says
Katie, this reminded me of what your house might be similar to after you start working on it. 🙂 Gorgeous, no?
