Raise your hand if parents are the hardest thing EVER to buy gifts for? AMIRIGHT?! I mean…they have everything. Some of them (not naming names) have too much of everything. So there is literally nothing to get them. Nothing. On the whole planet. Except this stuff because it’s awesome and you probably didn’t think of it 🙂
Okay – so I scoured countless websites looking for things my parents and grandparents would ACTUALLY use and love. Things that they would appreciate. Things that would make them smile or think of me and their grandkids. Things that they wouldn’t regift 🙂
So here is the list – it’s short and sweet and I think that any parent (whether they be 40, 60 or pushing 100) could appreciate.

Coming in at around $35, this cute record player would look modern enough for any home but fill the space with tunes from another time. I love this so much that I am asking for it for myself for my birthday. Take notes dad…mom doesn’t know how to use Amazon…or the internet in general…so I’m counting on you 🙂 Personally I would love to collect some vintage Sinatra, Billy Holiday and even a little Springsteen. What would you get?
My parents are totally turning into those people. You know. The ones that creep the windows when dogs pee in their yard. It’s like their little baby. The grass is always perfectly cut in stripes and in opposing directions according to the most recent mowing. The beds are never dry. And they literally can grow ANYTHING. One time my mom dug a little dogwood out of the woods….it was only 6″ tall and the next year it was a full tree with blooms. It was incredible. Green thumb is an understatement. My parents are fully green. Head to toe. So I think that they would really appreciate a utility garden wagon (it’s easier on the back than wheelbarrows) and this beautiful tool set is so pretty. I mean….even if your garden doesn’t look good, you will while tending to it 🙂
This might sound crazy….but I think this is pretty much the winning combo for ANYONE. I think that a robe+soap combo puts a smile on anyone’s face….because it’s like giving a hug….without actually touching. These robes are on sale (SCORE!) and the personalization factor makes it feel SUPER fancy. The loofah soap is just a match made in heaven. Every adult wants softer heels….heck I think pirates want softer heels…and this is the perfect way to get just that. Want to get the grandkid of the year award? Men in my family are still on the smoking kick. They smoke meat ALL.THE.TIME. And I am definitely not complaining. My hips might be. But my mouth is not 🙂 I think they would love this small smoker box that they can use with their regular grills for smaller portions. It gives the meat that smokey and infused flavor taste but won’t require a 72 hour nap on the patio 🙂 And this branding iron is the first I’ve seen that is customized with whatever. I love the small signature. It reminds me of how my dad initialed my report card growing up 🙂
How nice would it be to give your parents a really beautiful gold leaf piece of artwork….designed by their grandkids or a blast from her homemade kitchen? My Mummum would love that. She is like a bird….naturally attracted to shiny objects (as is her daughter and granddaughter)…and this would be sweet enough for a conversation piece while still being beautiful. And the options are as endless as your child’s imagination or as deep as her love for cooking.
I bought this for my mom two years ago. It’s HANDS DOWN one of my favorite candle scents. That’s all.
Coffee glasses are so nice. They make me think of fancy things…like Paris and new car smells and putting my pinky up. Seriously though….they are really elegant. And I like these snowflake ones because they would be seasonally appropriate way past Christmas. And I personally would send them along with cocoa and fancy shaped marshmallows….because you know…that’s a theme and you always work a theme 🙂
I just recently discovered this book and I think it is a really great gift for any grandparent. It is a prompting letter gift set for a grandparent to do with their grandchild. Each page has different themes where you fill out cards and leave special messages for the next generation. They can share very special moments, fun facts and even family recipes all in one place. To me it sounds like the highlight reel of their life….the gift that keeps on giving 🙂
This little cutie had to be included because it is pretty much the perfect gift for my mail-lady. She is my parents age and we have this really fun friendship. Whenever she is off, Weston gets really offended. Ms. Margaret is a favorite around the Bower house 🙂 So I thought that this letter/photo car would pretty much be the best gift for her….plus a little gift card tucked into the photo wire…just as a thank you for always walking our mail up to the front door 🙂
My grandparents showed me about thirty minutes of squirrel videos when I visited them in October. It was hilarious and fun and they get so much joy out of watching those squirrels trying to get the bird seed. They have the best sense of humor! I thought they would laugh till it hurts if they got this bird feeder that makes any squirrel look like it’s more equestrian. Shoot. I will probably buy one for myself because it’s too dang funny 🙂
Happy Shopping guys!
