I didn’t have any sponsors this month…like I’ve said before…I kinda stink at keeping up with sponsors. It’s the last thing on my priority list…I mean, I know that they keep this blog’s tank filled with gas, but it’s just so much funner to renovate, take pictures, write corny jokes and post weirdo photos. Anyhoo. I spent the time that I would have spent corresponding with sponsors and invested it into organizing the Print Shop & Photo Editing tab. I love it now. Now it’s like the old Sean Connery…not british…just easier on the eyes.
And I added some new 3-packs to the print shop. That sucker needed some new lovelies. This first set I like to call Growth.
The other 3-pack was named Spring. I think you can see why. I’m loving all the colors lately.
And lastly, there was a request for a print of my little line “we color outside the lines when it comes to love”…you know the one, where I was telling you about how my sister’s little boy Cole isn’t old enough to understand everything about his nontraditional family…but he knows some good ole fashioned love.
And even though I don’t have sponsors, I do have some very supportive people to thank. Thank you to everyone who purchased photo editing services in this past month. Your photos make me laugh and cry and pull my hair out sometimes but mostly laugh and smile…so thank you. You all get ten thousand points a piece. I know. I was feeling generous.
If you were one of those peeps that requested editing work and haven’t actually paid for your photo, I just want you to know that I am doing some hard-drive spring cleaning…and in seven days I am cleaning out the old photos…so here is your warning siren – buy now or forever hold your peace 🙂
Okay – now onto the fun before & afters! Tysie sent me this little one’s photo…love the green chair, didn’t love the Oompa Loompa skin. After you can appreciate the creamy ruffles on the bottom of that porcelain babydoll…
and speaking of weird color casts – Tempest’s little girl was feeling blue. literally. Now the only thing blue about her are those gorgeous eyes. Did I ever tell you that I want a little girl with blue eyes? No? Well, Tempest, consider yourself warned…I would lock the doors.
And Elizabeth needed some help with a vacation pic that didn’t quite show what a grand time she was having on the beach. Now you can actually see those shapely legs…yes, I am checkin em out and feeling quite jealous.
Boys always end up on the favorite list…and this one made my heart skip a beat. Probably because he is wearing Steeler colors. And it doesn’t hurt that he is so cute I wanna blow raspberries on those cheeks…
Newborns are tricky…and if you can catch them with their eyes open, well, consider yourself lucky. Allison climbed that Mount Everest but needed help jamming the flag into the side of the mountain. That’s where I came in. Now you can appreciate those big newbie eyes and that ridiculously cute double chin.
This one has to be a favorite. I would literally kill for that handmade hat. That kinda bonnet is what photographer’s dreams are made of….especially when it is strapped to such a Gerber baby.
Obviously, I could do this all day long…but I gotta get back to my regularly scheduled blogging….so these few before & after’s will have to do. And again…thank you from the bottom of my blog for your support. Now enough boring stuff…let’s get back to the weird stuff 🙂

I’m not sure that you got my message on facebook or not but I wanted to order the 3 pack of the Woodsy photos but now I want to add on the Growth ones to that if possible. Please let me know if that’s ok.

I especially love that last photo and how you removed the distracting background. All the photos, after editing, look like a professional took them. Great job!

KB your ‘analogies’ make me laugh! The Sean Connery one made me choke on my toaster strudel a little.
I bet you scored HIGH above average on the analogy part of the SAT’s 🙂 Ex”the pencil is to the eraser, like the ____ is to the dog”. 🙂
Sponsors are great, and keep the blog rolling as you said…but going back to a post title from a few days ago ‘Family comes first’. Im glad youre enjoying the moment right now with those little Will feet, and your new beautiful house, and your handsome BF..I dont covet him, I swear 🙂

LOVE those pics!! What a great job! Sometimes it’s fun to blog, just for the sake of blogging! Not much pressure, when you are doing it for you!!

Hi Katie,
Love the photos!!! I’m confused about the sponsor thing though. There are loads of ads showing on the sidebar on my screen. Are they not sponsors? I hope you don’t think I’m being nosy, I am starting own blog and I always thought that was how you made money from it. I guess I’ve just shown how little I know.
Katie says
Those are just google ads. Sponsors would be small businesses or sites that would purchase an ad spot. Actually it’s funny because I do make more money on Google ads in two days than a sponsor spot costs for an entire month. But I guess it is just one of those hit or miss things…there are ten million blogs out there and only so many companies 🙂

Hey Katie! I know how much you love to reply to comments 🙂 but I was wondering if you took any classes on photo editing or you are self taught? Also if you have any websites that may help me use mine a little better. I have photoshop but I can’t seem to figure it out. I seriously get so frustrated with layer and stuff I just end up shutting it down. I know there is so much I can do but can’t figure it out. any advise would be helpful at this point. Thank you so much.
<3,
Whitney
Katie says
Hi Whitney,
Totally self-taught…unless you count watching countless Youtube videos and free video tutorials I found online as classes 🙂
I would recommend googling…it’s amazing the information that is out there on photoshop!

Your photos are really nice. Is there a chance to buy some? Is somewhere a pricelist? I adore the very right one from Spring collection.

Hi Katie, I’ve emailed you several times about a photoediting job the last few weeks and I’ve never heard back. Maybe it’s going to spam? Or perhaps you’re not taking on any jobs at the moment? Or maybe I have the address wrong. Either way, I hate to continue bothering you, but you do such a great job, I wanted to try to get in touch with you through the comments as a last effort. Please email me if you have a chance.
Annie says
And, thanks!
Katie says
hmmm…let me check my spam and get back to ya! Sorry about the hassle!
