Who wore the pants in Hollywood? It was Katharine Hepburn.
During a time of dresses, skirts, high heels, and sex appeal, the “Great Kate” was a nonconformist. She was true to herself – believing that she didn’t actually have sex appeal and therefore would dress how she felt comfortable. That meant pants. Always with the pants. She even won an award from Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1986 for her menswear-inspired style.
Her favorites were men’s trousers, loose fitting button down shirts, and loafer style shoes.
