When I was asked to try out the Canon IVY Mini Photo Printer, I couldn’t help but think that my mom and sister would love it. Of course I trust their opinion 10000% and decided I would invite them over to give it a try. Also it should be noted that I love fall and I love girls night so I thought I would combine the two and share with you a fun centerpiece while I’m at it! My little sister and my mom came over and we took a bunch of photos of our two little girls (in matching outfits OF COURSE) and we hung out. It was chill, low key and I loved the beautiful fall tablescape that was loaded with floral and pumpkin vibes. And guess what – they loved the Canon IVY too.
For the mini event, I decided to go with pink, gold and white with pumpkins and lots of flowers.
It is definitely oozing feminine touches and the little girls got tutu’s and flower headbands (although Ella rocked her flowers as a belt since she tried to eat it if it was on her head!)
The real star of the show was this beautiful and interactive centerpiece. I made it with two $1 pumpkins (they were black and I spray painted them pink) and popped faux flowers in them for extra girl power.
I picked up this $2 wood pumpkin cut out too and told my family that we needed to have a spot to make memories and most importantly display them too!
At each of the place settings I put a Canon IVY printer and guys – this might be my new favorite printer. YES THAT IS A PRINTER. Let’s all take a moment to let the shock wear off. My sister was so confused until I explained that it literally prints directly from this tiny handheld accessory.
Okay, so I know I will get a bunch of questions about it – it is basically the size of a cell phone and it fits in your back pocket but it produces pictures that are soooo good. I put one at each place setting so that my mom and sister could upload the app and use it to print their own photos too.
The printer works like this – take photos with your phone like normal, upload to the Mini Print app, link your IVY printer, and print directly from your phone!
We used the photos we took and we we stuck them on the centerpiece as we chatted over fruit and finger foods. The paper that you load into the IVY is ZINK based technology which means “zero ink”, its already in the paper! If you peel it off, the picture becomes a sticker! How fun is that!
Of course, we took about seven million photos. Any time the little girls are in tutu’s it’s a general requirement 🙂
We of course missed having our sister in law and nieces there but it was so nice to just be all-girly the whole time! And the best part is that I put together a little video too.
I hope that now I can make this an annual event and show the littles how to print their favorite memories as well. There is just something about holding that photo in your hand and tucking it into your wallet or sticking it on display that makes the moment so real.
I think honestly that this little printer will be the next big thing. I can totally see this being a great stocking stuffer and perfect for anyone that doesn’t like wires or cords but loves instant photos. My kids are now constantly fighting over it and asking for LOTS of their photos to be taken so they can print them out. OK KIDS, YES I WILL TAKE YOUR SMILING PHOTO 🙂
