Bigger is better especially when it comes to lighting. And that is exactly the reason I was so pumped to find this huge (no kidding – it’s humongous) deal at my local Pottery Barn outlet store.
Yes – I placed that regular sized wine bottle next to it specifically because I wanted you all to get a sense of scale. This sucker is big. Like Pamela Anderson big, if you know what I mean! I also figured that most of you knew were pretty familiar with the size of a wine bottle 🙂
Just for kicks, here is a link to a PB side-table glass lamp that is ridiculously similar. See the price? Yeah – $200!!! The original price on my sweet see-through baby was $250 including the oversized linen drum shade. Wanna guess how much I paid? Ok…take a shot. You’ll never get it – I will just tell ya….(drumroll please)…..
$15 for lamp
$17 for shade
TOTAL of $32 for this sexy beast.
This is better than chocolate. better than Lost (this season is rockin my socks off!). better than the time I saw Theodore Huxtable in the airport. And way better than Pam’s acting skills.
**Please note that bigger is not better for Miss Anderson – think apples my dear – not watermelons.

You never told me that you saw Theo Huxtable in the airport. OMG!
How funny.
Hope you guys can come over tomorrow night. : )

Totally fabulous!! Where is it going?
Sara says
Wow! I am super jealous right now! I have been drooling over that lamp and its friend for a few months and refusing to spend that much. I bought the cheaper target ones (still cute) from their home design event. Oh yea, and I still paid more! You are queen of a good deal!
Austin says
I kind of love this lamp. Let me know if you go back to the outlets.
Stacy says
Hey Katie – great find! What PB outlet do you go to? Dawsonville?I’m also an Atlanta dweller and just wanted to make sure I’m in the know…:)

I am so jealous of both your lamp and your Theo Huxtable sighting! I so wish I had a PB outlet near me!

Jen – I have a little plan for this big baby – I am thinking in my new shmancy basement bedroom but the jury is still out 🙂
Sara – I saw those Target lamps and LOVED them. They were definitely a more workable size than my huge beast…just more of a challenge for me, I guess!
Hey Stacy – YES! It is the Dawsonville outlets! And make sure that if you visit you do the following:
1. Go directly to the clearance section – everything ending in .89 is 70% off the lowest price…that’s how I scored this baby at such a knockout price!
2. Get your name on the PBOutlet email list…that way you get notified of don’t-wake-me-up kinda deals all over the store in tons of different sections (plus you get to visit the clearance again!)
3. Program their number in your phone asap. If you are looking for a specific item, give the branch a call before you make the trek. They can look it up for you in the system or put you on the ‘waiting list’ for that particular item. Plus they can tell you their in-store specials for that day…which sometimes don’t make it to the email list 🙁
And hey Stacy – if you ever need a shopping buddy in the outlets – you just holla!
XO – Katie

Love it!

Very old post, but I had to comment about the bottle of Century wine from the Bitlmore Estate Winery that you chose. I worked about Biltmore for about 5 years & although I tried their wines numerous times, I just couldn’t get into it. I’m more of a margarita kind of girl. But I will say that Century is better than most & the design on the bottle is beautiful. Very distinct & hard to miss…even in a small photo on a blog… 😉
Katie says
Aww thanks Rachel. I guess we have discerning tastebuds. Either that or dumb luck 🙂
