It’s official…summers are WAY too short and my kids are growing way too fast! But nobody (and I’ll say that again for emphasis – NOBODY) is more excited about school than my kids. All four boys adore their teachers, their friends and even love showing off all they learned. And honestly it soothes my mama heart to know that if they aren’t here cuddling me harder than they have ever cuddled before….that they are in the best possible hands filling their little brains with knowledge and their hearts with sweet playground memories 🙂

Of course, this year we were equally excited about gearing up for class with all the cutest clothes, shoes and backpacks. We found some of the best back to school finds at Walmart and I am excited to share all of them with you today!

The little boys got to pick out matching backpacks and lunchboxes. They have a bunch of different designs and my kiddos picked rescue vehicles and robots. Both boys were squealing when I told them they could also use these as overnight bags to Nana’s house! The best part about these are that they are way more affordable than similar bags I’ve seen floating around the internet!

The boys were also excited about showing off their new outfits too. We as a family all really like clothing – that sounds weird so maybe I should explain – but new shoes are equally as exciting in our house as a new toy! I like to joke that I should have named the boys Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs. That actually would be awesome. Someone do that.

The best part about the back to school is that the kids let me take 1.1 million photos of them!

(HEY Max’s shoes above are velcro. Perfect for the kids when they are super independent but also need a non-sloppy shoe!)
These two are like two peas in a pod. I tell ya what. I love seeing how LJ and Max are friends to each other. I am so glad that they are in the same school!

We also picked out some really cute outfits that speak to their individual personalities.
LJ loves flashy clothing – the brighter the better! He is such a ray of sunshine – I know that picking out his clothing means picking something that is as bright as him!
Side note – my kids go through shoes like crazy so I hate spending an arm and a leg on new ones. I have been buying the kids sporty ones at Walmart for years now and they are great! Easy to get on, affordable, and cute!
I love how LJ has also always loved red. We call it his trademark color. It is funny because he is always naturally drawn to red jackets so this one absolutely was his jam!
Max found the cutest clothing in Walmart too.
We all were obsessed with this jacket and shirt set. Jeremy even wanted it in his size 🙂 The graphic tee with the astronaut is perfect for the kids that are out of this world and the little bomber jacket?! I die.
Also Walmart has stepped up their jeans game and now they have tons of kids options in great washes and cuts. I love the more skinny leg on the kids and the soft waistband always is a win for the numerous potty breaks!
The boys were also super excited about these outfit sets. They came all together so even Jeremy can’t mess that up! He is notorious for putting the kids in “matching” clothes that do not match. This takes some of the brain-work out of it.
LJ said that they felt like jammies but I told him that when the weather cools down, he can wear it to school. He was surprised and said “JAMMIES TO SCHOOL!?!” Gosh darn…I love this kid.
Also I told him that his little friend that happens to be a girl might like it….and he made this face….
Y’all…I wish I could duplicate him and give you all an LJ…he is too good for the soul.
Also is it just me or when you put your kids in comfortable clothing….the immediate response from them is a desire to wrestle?! My kids turn into WWE pros when I put them in sweats! I guess that is how I know the clothing is comfortable 🙂
Also there has never been a more appropriate message from Max than “stay wild”. He is my little wild one! I LOVE how he is enthusiastic about EVERYTHING…
Full of personality and spunk! Also I am fairly certain that he is gonna get away with everything at school because he can love on you like no other. Just the BEST hugs and the cute clothes make him even more cuter 🙂
Also – this photo was 100% their idea. Immediately afterward they wanted to dance on the counters. I let them. Just for a minute. I’m in trouble y’all.
SOooo….you know who else demanded a backpack? I’ll give you one guess…
Yup. Of course my sweet baby girl was ALL ABOUT the “pack-packs” as her older brother called them. And I’ll just be honest….I can’t resist it either!
JUST GIVE THE CUTE BABY GIRL EVERYTHING SHE WANTS.
We got her some back-to-school clothes (even though she technically doesn’t attend school) and some fun new things to keep her occupied while her brothers are gone.
One of my favorite finds for her was this little jean jacket. I mean….this girl looks totally ready for school!
You know how much I love me a good denim jacket and this one has the sweetest details….sparkly buttons and a little ruffle trim.
Also the boys picked out these unicorn shoes for her and Ella was over-the-moon about them. If shoes aren’t 1000% comfortable for her….she will SCREAM bloody murder to take them off. She loved these so much that she ran around and started jumping up and down! You know this girl doesn’t lie…they get the Ella-stamp-of-approval-for-comfort.
Also I couldn’t resist some of the cutest little clothing finds for her in the toddler section….this plaid skirt?! the little boots?! I LOVE dressing her!
I know she is so much more than a little living doll baby….but dang it if she doesn’t act the part sometimes! One of her favorite things in the world….besides snacks….is changing her clothing ten times a day. This little fashion show was RIGHT up her alley!
One of the best things I found at Walmart for all the kids were these bubba water bottles. The top is a flip and has no straw or weird parts to clean. Just unscrew the top and pop both pieces in the dishwasher and it makes finding the parts so much easier!
Also – I know that everyone and their mother knows about the separates for the kids at Walmart but they just came out with new ones and they are all the best trends….animal prints, rainbows, unicorns, and florals.
I’m learning that with a girl – the clothing lasts a little longer – it can transition from a dress to a tunic and from long leggings to capri leggings. So I love the basics….black leggings, simple prints and really classic cuts.
They are perfect for every day….and fast to throw on so that getting to school on time is not such a headache!
So there you have it guys….some of our favorite back-to-school finds with Walmart. We got all of that along with fourteen packs of dry erase markers, seventeen hand sanitizers and more reams of copy paper than I can count! Let the learning begin!
So that is it folks! A little back-to-school fashion show just for you mamas out there looking for affordable and adorable clothing and gear! And Grandmas – if you don’t buy that backpack for each kid and make them ‘Nana’ or ‘Mimi’ or “Grammy” overnight bags….you aren’t bribing those grandkids right! Ha! They will LOVE it. And with that – it is time for me to run to get the kids! Happy shopping y’all!
