This is my dad.
On Father’s Day, he received one of the best family pictures ever.
Each stick figure was hand sketched by my five year old nephew Cole.
And in case you were wondering…I have labeled each family member drawn.
Let’s take a closer look.
First up…my sister, who is Cole’s mom. Note the prominent hair. Apparently she is the only one that has any. Cole is quite accurate with this picture….Lori does have a full head of curls.
And Jeremy is well-illustrated as well.
We will leave that one to your own imaginations.
And lastly we have me.
Since Sunday, I have started a rigorous workout routine and a very strict diet consisting of water and a small bowl of Kleenex with one tablespoon of tabasco sauce. I got the hint.
Laughing out loud over here… at all of it! So cute, that little Cole!
Oh my goodness, that is just too cute!
Hahaha! Too cute! Little kids draw the best pictures.
You are HILARIOUS (and definitely looking mommy-fabulous in the post-partum pics you’ve posted), but that picture is really funny. I think we scare the young when they see formerly normal women in their lives transformed into wobbling, Teletubby-esque blobs. Apparently they find such images hard to wipe from their impressionable minds. As for the 3-legged BF…lucky lady! 😉
LOL @ Jeremy! I bet he was flattered by that representation.
Hilarious! When I was 5 and my little sister was born, I drew a similar picture of my family – except everyone had GIANT BELLY BUTTONS! My mom used it as the birth announcement. Good times.
You so look like your dad and that picture is cracking me up, especially with all your comments about it! LOL
Thank you for the belly laugh before bed.
HILARIOUS!!! Don’t you just love that kid? I know I absolutely LOVE to see the pictures my son draws… 🙂 Thanks for sharing, I totally laughed out loud!!!! 🙂
Ohhh my. What an imaginative kid. I had to forward that post to a bunch of people it was sooo funny.
Now people are getting mad at me for sending them silly emails at 5am.
hehe.
haha, too funny, Katie!! 🙂
For a moment I thought you had an “announcement.” I guess your pregnancy made a big impression on him!
LOL!
I’m currently 19w pregnant, and some people are bothered that my 3yo daughter CONSTANTLY asks other women if they’re pregnant as well. I feel I have to reassure them that she doesn’t think you’re thick around the middle, it just so happens that Mom, 2 aunts, and our neighbor ARE pregnant. I guess she feels she knows so many pregnant women, that everyone must be! 😉
idk whats more funny, you or Jeremy. At least Jeremy can take his as a compliment.
Hahaha! That is so funny–don’t worry, I’m 100% positive that he was thinking of you pregnant when he drew that. 🙂
Too funny!!!! = )
That is super cute…. dang kids and their honesty. LOL
LOL. At least Will is still a tiny kid. It’s much worse when your baby is only a few months shy of turning 1 and a kid asks you if you have a baby in your belly. Yikes.
Woah…. Congratulations on your ‘3 legged’ boyfriend! And you’ve looked amazing in all your pics lately so have a little bacon grease with that kleenex.
This made me laugh so hard – HILARIOUS.
As an art teacher I get some funny pictures but this is too funny! Your pregnancy is still very fresh to him! A funny picture I got in class was a boy drawing his dad with a car over his head. I said “what did you make” without hesitation “my dad, he can pick up cars.” I guess he thinks his dad is superman. Kids have very funny viewpoints.
I thought you were going to tell us you were pregnant again!
As an elementary art teacher I fully appreciate your analyzation of the drawing. Kids drawings are so funny!!!
Oh goodness, so funny!
CRACK ME UP!!! 😉
gotta love little kids!
Oh my gosh. This is too funny. Big belly laughs.
That is HILARIOUS. I am sure he is just remembering what you were like and not thinking about how you changed recently! Too cute. My niece always draws me with HUGE earrings. ha which is pretty accurate but also funny
Dear Cole,
I miss you.
Love, Austin
This is the funniest thing ever….you should let Jeremy know I had no idea. No idea.
Dear Austin,
I miss you.
Love, Katie
Laughing out loud! We have a picture that my oldest drew when she was in pre-school that has my husband sporting the ‘extra leg’. The thought did cross my mind to frame it, but for now it’s stuffed in her memory box. As is my husbands ego.
This is sososo funny!
Katie- I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant and I laughed so hard my belly shook. You crack me up. Thanks for sharing this – just absolutely adorable!
The way in which those little ones see things is amazing, isn’t it? 😉
That is freaking hysterical……………so precious, but still freaking hysterical!
You look great! You did have a 9-lb human inside of you, after all. 🙂
You’re a lucky woman havin Jeremy around. hahaha, this is great!
You made my Monday morning with this one, girl! Hilarious! Thanks for helping me start my week off with a giggle!
fantastic. hysterical. love it.
Hilarious! But I do have to say you look fantastic. I’ll be on that same diet for the next 6 weeks until our wedding.
I just died laughing. Seriously, what a hilarious little guy.
I laughed so hard when I saw this. And I knew the pregant lady had to be you- that is so sweet!
ROFLBO I am dying over here! Before I finished reading the post I showed my daughter and told her that even though Cole drew little Will in the picture he still drew you with the baby bump!! Love it!
My daughter continued to draw mine for almost a year after her brother was born ! Kids are awesome Katie!
That is hilarious!! Looks like your boyfriend might have a new nickname – Tripod!
It’s so funny to see this. I did the same thing when I was about Cole’s age. It had the entire family, siblings, parents, grandparents. I even wrote everyone’s name. My mother, who was very crafty at the time, took the picture and must have sketched it onto fabric because she hand sewed my drawing, framed it and gave it to both my grandparents. My mother still has one of them!
i wish you could see the stick figure picture that we have framed on our wall. You would laugh! It is my hubby, me (who takes up 1/3 of the pic), my 5 year old (at the time) and our little new born, who looks like a little fetus and our wiener dog, who looks like he is going pooh. It looks like we both appreciate great art!
hahahahahaha!
HILARIOUS!!!
