I couldn’t help but look at the new stuff that Pottery Barn has out for Halloween.
It’s a sickness.
And as I got carried away with dreaming about breakin’ out our Fall Decor…I started to wonder if the bewitching Pottery Barn items had twins floating out there in the cyberspace like a ghost who lost it’s way.
What I found were some cheap halloween decorations that looked like they belonged in the Pottery Barn magazine.
And for those of you that like paying full price – you can purchase the less expensive version and send me the difference. I won’t mind. In fact, I am totally ‘ghoul’ with it.
The cheesiness is also a sickness…and we are having it looked into.
ONTO THE DECOR!
Pottery Barn Skull appetizer plates – $7 a piece
Target Skull appetizer plates – $12 for 12
Pottery Barn Decorative Pumpkin with lights – $49 for small
ABC distributing Lighted Rattan Pumpkins – $6 for 9″version

Ikea Borrby Lantern – $15 for 17″ high
Pottery Barn Mercury Pumpkin – $24 SOLD OUT
WiliBleu Mercury Glass pumpkin – $15
Pottery Barn Pumpkin Candles – $24 for 6″ high version
Crate & Barrel Pumpkin Candles – $15 for 5.5″ high version
Pottery Barn Glass Drink Dispenser – $59 for small

So there you have it – a few scary comparisons of some fabulous Halloween/Harvest style home decor items. And I am just loving those mercury pumpkins – they really get my temperature rising! (get it!?…mercury…temperature…ok…that one was bad.) Now that I have virtually saved you money on all those Halloweeny goods – it’s time for a little treat for me…spill the beans (or vampire blood…insert cackle laughter here) on the things you want to decorate with this coming fall holiday season.

I love the lanterns. They have a great deal on lanterns at Gordmans, as well, if you have one.
Have you seen the tutorial to make your own “mercury glass” looking pumpkin from a dollar store pumpkin? Very good and looks very simple.

Great finds! But it still seems like summer out here in California, so I’m not quite ready to get the fall decorations out yet.

Target has 3″ versions of the pumpkin candles by Smith and Hawken…2 for $14.99. Smaller than the ones featured, but a good price anyway! I saw them in the store, but they are also available online as well! Thanks for the money saving suggestions 🙂

Martha has some great ideas for on the cheap Halloween DIY in the special mag this month, looks like all the templates are free downloads at the website too…can we say I am going to be having some sparkly green skulls in a dish next to some of those awesome pumpkin carvings? YES. Be still my spooky heart.

I love fall decorations! So glad you posted about this. I just blogged about how early you can get your fall decor on, I love pumpkin spice candles, pinecones (the epitomy of cheap) and mums. So, do you think we can start now????

I also can’t wait to decorate for fall. I’m holding off until the 60 degree weather is here to stay. I LOVE FALL! My FAVORITE SEASON!!!! So yeah, I love those scarecrows, pumpkins, lanterns, leaves . . . as far as Halloween though, I’ll dress up, go to a party, whatever, but don’t do skulls, ghosts, witches, goblins, devils and such.
Corley says
Target also has the “wicker” pumpkins with lights. I don’t know the price. But its something to check out.

I would love to host a Halloween party!

I love this game! I feel so sneaky when I find less expensive versions of things I see in catalogs. I just did a blog post about this actually and founds lots of less pricey versions of cool lighting fixtures http://diynewlyweds.blogspot.com/2009/09/discount-lighting-finds-price-match.html

I love fall and halloween – I’ve been in the mood to decorate for a month now. But I’m trying to hold out until the first day of fall at least – Thanks for the ideas and suggestions on the cheap. We’re lucky enough to have a PB and C&B outlet not to far from us – here’s hoping that they have some good stuff too

*Sigh* Autumn Season. My best friend. She’s really lovely with all of her colours. I too can’t wait to dress up my home in her honour.
Listen, you Americans and your shopping deals, you spoiled little buggers 😉
I suppose I need to take a trip down to NY State soon. We just don’t seem to have such variety and such great prices.
Thanks KB, anyhow, for the inspiration. 🙂

What a perfect list, all things I love.
I am so getting those lanterns when I trip up to the land of IKEA next weekend. Do I get the black or the silver? Oh the choices!

Thanks for the info! I’m in VT, where the leaves are starting to change, so it’s perfect timing for lugging out the fall decorations.

Hmm… can I skip to Christmas? My house is a reno mess right now, but I’d love to be decorating with pumpkins, squash, etc.

Oh great comparisons!
Just wanted to add that the last image for the dispenser. I got one that looks idential to the Macy version at Christmas Tree Shoppe for $12!!!!!!
Great place to go and look for all sort of year round decorations and various home things that you didn’t neccessarily need, but want.

So glad you commented on the outrageous price for the Pottery Barn pumpkins. I found a 14 in similar lighted pumpkin at Target for $30.00. Love it and saved 60 dollars!
