This year I got a huge jump on the holidays by checking off a major to-do list item….I already ordered my holiday cards! Holy Night right?! I mean…getting this crossed of my list was a major relief and the hardest part was that Vistaprint has so many options that I couldn’t decide on just one! (And right now they are offering a great deal to all customers for holiday items! Use code BPHOLIDAY to receive up to 50% off holiday cards and wall calendars this holiday season, now through 12/31.) So that is why I’m here to share so many gorgeous holiday card options with you. These are all really hot trends in the card world and the best part is that most of these cards are very customizable.
First let me share with you some of 2019’s hottest Christmas Card trends and how to make them work for you!
TREND #1 – PERFECT PLAIDS
Plaids are hotter than hot for the holiday season and Vistaprint has a bunch of awesome options. This is perfect for the casual farmhouse vibe. I love this black and white version with a colorful photo.
When picking out a plaid card – try to pick one out that plays off the colors in the photo. If you have a group photo where everyone is wearing blue and white, pick a plaid patterned card that has blue as an accent color.
TREND #2 – SEASONAL BOTANICALS
Seasonal botanicals can mean a wide variety of things…but to me, it goes from natural to floral to wreath greenery. I picked out a couple of my favorites – one more traditional with red and green and white….
It happens to be a folding card that is perfect for those of you that like to add a personal handwritten message inside (a lost art to be sure!).
One of the reasons I love the Vistaprint card printing service is that there are TONS of options for the front, inside and back of the cards. You are not limited to the same font, the same message or even the same layout. You can completely customize it.
Another floral example is this one with the navy flowers and gold foil accents. This was one of their premium cards and it was amazing quality.
The front and back were both in this beautiful print and again – I personalized the message to say peace and joy, in the font of my choice and even sized it and laid it out exactly where I wanted.
The size was also something that I loved – a bigger card to stand out among the rest. Also the fact that this had nontraditional colors also makes it pop. It would go great if you are using a spring or summer photo that had lots of blues.
TREND #3 – FESTIVE TYPOGRAPHY
Festive typography is one of the most clever ways to make your card stand out. This one with a New Years message is perfect for businesses and families. Vistaprint has several that showcase fun fonts and messages – I personally think that it makes a regular photo stand out even more!
And I also wanted to touch on the fact that I ordered a variety of sizes and shapes when it came to the cards so that I could see how they were printed and every single one was great!
Another fun type version was the Merry Christmas card – I love a fun handwritten font and this one was perfect! I think that does really great to add a little vignetting to your photo if your message is white. That’s just a tip to think about before uploading your pic!
TREND #4 – NATURAL & RUSTIC
I think that fall photos are perfect for the natural and rustic look.
Simplicity goes a far way! I again changed the font and the message on the front and mixed up three different fonts to get the look I loved. I love that feature on the Vistaprint site!
If you think your cards are lacking anything – it’s probably a little bit of gold foil! I saw this card and knew that our pajama picture would be the perfect fit. I was able to flip the gold foil dots so that they didn’t fall on any of the kids faces and perfectly framed out this photo.
And on the back I grabbed some of my favorite Instagram photos from 2019 and popped them in for a little fun! Turning them all black and white tied them together and made it look cohesive.
I hope you loved the Christmas cards as much as I did! I actually ordered a Bower Power business Christmas card this year too (something I’ve not done in the past but just so I could send it to some of the agencies and brands we work with). Vistaprint had a ton of options and I am so glad they reached out to try their cards because it was super easy!
I was also able to try some of their other holiday items that make great gifts. They have calendars, canvas prints, personalized mugs and even photo blankets!
Who doesn’t love a calendar to enjoy all year long?! And it makes each month feel like you are getting a present when you turn to the new photos 🙂
It’s incredible how many custom items you can make on their site and use as Christmas presents.
I even got a couple canvases for my new foyer shelves and they look AMAZING for holiday cheer.
