Summer is in full swing and if your kids are anything like ours, they are probably telling you how BORED they are and how they want to do ALL the fun activities. Years ago we started making bucket lists for seasons and today I am sharing a fun photo summer bucket list craft idea that we love. It’s art! It’s memories! It’s a reminder list of fun things to do! It’s all that and it’s SO simple. Here’s how we did it….
This little corner of our kitchen is the perfect spot for framed art and we kept on sticking a reminder note on the fridge with our summer bucket list. Every time I saw the list – it had things checked off but it wasn’t really a fun list to look at because it didn’t invoke memories. I wanted to create an easy and pretty way to make and display a list while celebrating the things we have done that year. That’s what inspired me to make this fun list that can be filled with a few of the cutest photos.
The process is super simple. Here’s what you need :
- Ivy Mini Photo Printer
- Sticker printer paper
- your phone with photos to print from your smartphone app
- frame and mat of your choice
- plain photo paper or cardstock
- marker or pen
- tape
First, remove the mat from the frame. Then attach a plain piece of photo paper or cardstock with a couple pieces of tape to the backside of the mat.
Then we wrote the top 16 items from the kid’s summer bucket list to the paper. I decided to write them all in a spot where they would be covered by the photos. That way – as we checked things off our list, I would print off a photo of that activity and the kids could cover the name of the activity with the photo.
Speaking of printing photos – the best way to do this craft is using your Canon Ivy Mini Photo Printer. It is a pocket sized printer that is light years better quality and colors than other mini printers I’ve tried. It’s so easy to upload your photo to the Canon Mini Print app and print the photo with a touch of a button! Also….no wires. Yup. It’s amazing.
After you print your activity photo – it’s time to stick it to the cardstock. The IVY printer paper is actually a sticker so peel off the back…
See?! MAGIC.
And stick it in the corresponding spot! Put them all in and boom! You are done with updating your bucket list.
I love how it looks and still very functional. I mean – a girl has to have her lists and this list that reminds us of all we have done and all we need to do.
The kids love it too because they can see their friends in the photos and they are reminded when they are “sooooooooooo bored” that we have done a lot this summer and had loads of fun!
Functional, sweet and memories of fun? Perfect!
Plus it looks right at home in my kitchen 🙂 Best kind of art ever. I also like the idea of doing this every summer (we only get 18 summers with these babies before they are adults!) and creating a gallery! Each mat can be labeled with the year….cute right?!
There you have it! A very fun summer bucket list art idea perfect for keeping all your fun memory photos in one place.
