Who is ready for some BBQ, pool time and Fourth of July?! I am ready to ‘Merica it up over here and celebrate the good ole red white and blue! My kids love Independence Day and it’s mostly because they get to do one thing that we don’t do any other time…..SPARKLERS!
My kids love love love sparklers and we try to keep the sparklers for the day dedicated to celebrating freedom! That being said – I wanted to make a Fourth of July caddy for all things SPARKLERS!
This is literally the easiest craft ever! Let’s get this party started!
GATHER YOUR MATERIALS
First you will need your materials:
- Patriotic patterns (you can download my free printables at the end of this post if you would like to use mine!)
- Canon semi-gloss printers paper
- Canon PIXMA TS9521C printer
- scissors
- double sided tape
- glass vases ($1 from The Dollar Tree)
- tin or wood caddy (I got mine from Walmart)
- candle, sparklers, glow sticks, etc. to put inside
PRINT YOUR PATTERNS
Using your Canon PIXMA printer, you want to print the patriotic patterns on a letter sized piece of paper. I did all mine different patterns but I think it would be cute to alternate just two!
TRIM TO SIZE
I used a paper cutter to trim my paper to size but scissors will work just as well. The key is to cut the paper just enough to be slightly undersized for the vase. A standard letter size paper wrapped around the vase just perfectly but was about an inch too tall so a quick trim made it fit like a sleeve.
ADHERE TO VASE
Using a couple pieces of double sided tape, I wrapped the entire vase with the paper pattern. This can be changed for any holiday and any pattern. My printer actually has patterns loaded in it’s memory so if I were doing a baby shower, I would have definitely chosen the pink polka dots and the blue gingham!
LOAD UP THE CADDY
Place each of the vases into the caddy and then load each vase with items for your independence day celebration! I chose to go with a vase with sparklers, one with a candle, one full of glow sticks and the final one I decided would be my “trash” holder….for used sparklers!
BE CAREFUL!
Speaking of sparklers – I always like to remind everyone that sparklers are dangerous and can cause burns and should be used only under adult supervision! This caddy is not so that you can ditch your kids and pray for the best. I can’t believe I actually have to write that….but seriously….let’s all be super careful this Fourth of July and have fun while being safe so that the focus can remain where it should be….on celebrating the freedoms that we have here and being grateful to those who gave so much for it!
Let’s see it in action! First snag your sparkler from the sparkler vase….then light it with the candle….
YAY! It looks great!
And when it’s done, the used sparkler can be put in the last vase and the kids can grab a glow stick for even more glowing fun!
There you have it folks! A sparkler caddy that lights up the firecracker in all of us! Here are the free printables….
I hope you guys have a wonderful holiday and thank you to all of our military and service members who sacrifice so much for our freedoms….YOU ARE HEROS! THANK YOU! HAPPY FOURTH YOU GUYS!
