This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dream Weaver, a brand of Engineered Floors. All opinions are 100% mine.
One of the projects we definitely want to tackle this year is our basement flooring It has been eight years living with the most aggressive orange faux wood tile floors and the time has come.
We decided that a water resistant hard surface flooring solution would be just the thing for this space and as I did a bunch of research on different options, I came across something I just had to share! It’s the easiest flooring visualization tool and I know you will be as addicted as I am!
I am excited to share with you a cool company called Engineered Floors! Ok, so you might be thinking…”Yes Katie – I’ve heard of that” or maybe “Sure, Katie get to the point – what is so different?!” Well first of all…the thing that got me adding this website to my favorites bar is their EF-EYE Visualizer It is a super simple and immediate visualizer for your flooring!
You will have to pick EF-EYE VISUALIZER in their top bar Then you can click on any of the preloaded photos or you can upload your own room.
So why is this ridiculously helpful?
Because most of us are visual It takes a long time to teach your brain and eye to read undertones and patterns and the way things look running one way vs another Being able to see it makes a world of difference!
Also sometimes picking stuff out is hard! You know how sometimes you walk into a store and think “Yes, I know what I want I want gray floors with a bit of warm undertones.”, but then as you get to the aisle of flooring options, it becomes immediately overwhelming and you double back one million times to walk out with an item that you don’t love and isn’t even the gray with warm undertones?! The struggle is real
So the EF-EYE Visualizer actually is one of my new favorite toys to play with because it solves that very problem! You basically just go to the site…upload your photo and immediately you can see what your new flooring would look like with TONs of options You can see wide planks or more narrow ones virtually in that room! It’s amazing! And you can switch the photo or the direction its laid in a jiffy
I did it with my basement floors and immediately I wanted to push this project to the top of the list Here is the main room in our basement As you can see, I covered up a ton of that flamboyant orange floor with a rug.
But then here it is with a click of the button I MEAN!
Key Largo from Triumph
I also tried some options that were a bit darker than what I had anticipated picking….but you know what? I LOVE THEM.
Bounty from Triumph
Also here is how you can switch the direction the floor is laid See that little “Rotate Floor” icon in the bottom right corner? That rotates the direction the planks run…so that you can truly decide what direction to have the boards This could have saved a lot of marital arguments guys.
I think Jeremy and I argue over this every.single.time.
So at the end of the day the tool is cool but what good is it if you don’t love the product?! Well the great news is – these products are legit We sent an email to them asking if we could review their flooring samples and we received them in the mail this week and they are so good
First, I wanted to see the hype about the REVOTEC product It’s got all the perks of flooring that would work in a basement setting
-
- WATERPROOF
-
- mimics ceramic stone or tile
-
- floating floor
-
- drop-lock-click installation
-
- can go in over most preexisting floors
- lots of color options
And yes, some of them would fool even the most discerning eye to believe they are natural wood.
The thing I was most interested in was their TRIUMPH line. Here is why:
-
- WATERPROOF
-
- excellent scratch & indention resistance (aka Bower friendly)
-
- high dimensional stability (temps won’t affect it!)
-
- LOTS of sizes available
-
- LOTS of colors available
-
- real wood look
-
- fast & easy installation
- ability to go right over existing flooring
Sounds like a dream come true! Especially in a daylight basement where flooding can ruin other types of flooring.
And look at what a difference it makes just covering up that orange tile…
Now the most offensive thing in this photo are my tie-dye toenails 🙂
Isn’t that just the coolest? I love being able to have access to smart tools like this for design because heaven knows I am not a trained designer (but I do have opinions! ha!) This was made for us that need to touch it and see it a million times over before we make a decision.
So let’s go play with all the rooms in our house right!? And if you have any floors that you are switching around…I’d love to see them! Send me a picture on social media of your current and the EF-EYE Visualizer version! If you’re interested in carpet, you can also view products from the Dream Weaver line.
