Low key. That was the name of the game the last full day we had in Florida. We hit the theme park the day before (which meant that Will only got thirty minutes of his normal naptime once already) so we were ready for kickin’ it back and enjoying the house. Specifically this part of the house:
The morning began with cereal box reading and mini pancake throwing. Seriously, will this boy phase of throwing things ever end?
I guess not.
After that, we all hit the pool.
I love Will’s face in this one…
Sometime that afternoon we experienced those famous Florida showers. Didn’t keep us back. You can’t keep us down Mother Nature…
Okay. ok. So it kept me back. I waited till it cleared up a bit before hopping into the hot tub.
Speaking of which, Will was obsessed with the hot tub. We turned the heat off…so the temperature wasn’t any different than bath water but I think he really took to it because it was smaller.
Later that night my Aunt and her three boys (and a special friend in tow) drove from Clearwater to visit. Here are the sisters:
We all decided to get a ‘cousins’ photo…which turned into a ridiculous thirty minute photoshoot with barely enough sun…and way too much goofing off.
One cousin missing…he’s back there…I can see his feet but not his head. And one too many bare midriffs.
We really shouldn’t be allowed in front of the camera.
Note my cousins are perfectly well behaved.
This was the best we got. And I am pretty sure that my bro El gorila was about to make a farting noise. We are classy like that.
I was pretty much obsessed with this pond across the road…
So we attempted to get a photo…Fail. This was the best one…too dark. Grainy. This is what happens when your ISO is all the way up…GRAIN. Too bad. So sad.
We ended up spending the rest of the night playing The Things game. Very mucho fun-o. Now I want it. Nothing beats asking your dad if he wrote down “Pee on your boss”.
Sunday morning was our last day…and we were supposed to be out by ten…so we fit in a morning dip.
More gratuitous Will shots 🙂
Right after we packed up the car to go, we snagged the family photo. Jer & I decided that we might like to visit the hotel that we got engaged at – Portofino Bay Hotel – so Tim & my ‘rents & Norn, Cole & Boots all decided to squeeze into my dad’s truck. We felt kinda bad about the tight fit…but we knew that it’s not every day that we get to show our first born where it all started.
But first…we checked out the big ole tractor thingie across the street.
Will was pretty cranky but he put his best fake smile on for the photos.
The crankiness is 100% because of the six teeth that are coming in all at the same time.
Poor guy can’t catch a break.
It was the perfect way to say goodbye to the vacation.
Of course, we still had the drive home…after all the journey is half the joy 🙂

Love the matching nautical stripe tees! 🙂
Mallory says
What I can see of that blue bathing suit is adorable! I like the stripey one, too, actually.
Have I ever told you that you always look gorgeous? I wouldn’t mind if you changed things up a bit and did a post or two on your beauty products/regimen.
georgia says
Did you and will match on purpose? Hehe
So wish I could be in lovely sunny florida right now! Glad u had a lovely family holiday ! X

Looks like you guys had a wonderful vacation! How fun. Is that a tattoo I see on Jeremy’s side? What is that of?
Natalie says
aww I love Florida! My little sister got married in Miami Beach this past January, and we all want to go back again next year! Glad you had such a great time with the fam! 🙂
Meagan Snow says
Don’t you just love Things! It is the best game. My friends and I have game night and Things is always gets in the line up. We love it. Our favorite is to put someone’s name who is playing in if it remotely fits. For example…”things that are dirty…” “John Smith”. “Things you shouldn’t do on the first day of work…” You get the idea…borderline inappropriate, but so fun!!

That’s Tim – and it is a tatoo that reads Jesus one way and when he bends the other way it reads Christ.

I love that the second picture of Will throwing food also shows all the little kids reading cereal boxes while they eat. I remember doing that as a kid, too! So cute.

What a fun trip! I see that someone in you family shops at Aldi’s! So I was getting a little confused. Do you have two brothers and one sister?
Katie says
No bun in the oven…the glow must be due to photoshop…It’s my favorite beauty supply 🙂

I have two brothers and one sister. Brad (older bro known as El Gorila) married Tara (Legs McCracken). Then me. Then Nornie (whose real name is Lori)…engaged to Boots…mom to Cole. The baby is Timmy (Hot Tim to some)….no children – just an ambigram tattoo.

Oh, ya, and I would love to see a close up of that tattoo! I thought it was Jeremy also.

I think I might be able to help with the noise in that picture of you and Will in front of the pond. If you send me the file I will try tonight. If I can fix it I will send what I did to do so.
Looks like a great vacation. I love family vacations. I spend the summer at our beach house with my mom and all my siblings and their families. It is a blast.
Amy Wolff says
LOL…. you can add that to your beauty regimen when you do a post on that!! Looks like a great vacation. You are so lucky to have such a wonderful family!
Jill says
Beautiful pics and beautiful family — looks like a family vacation full of laughter and good times. Your sister’s maxi dress is adorable. Please tell me you know where she got it. Oh, and your mom is a pretty, pretty lady – that is a great pic of her and your aunt.
Katie says
Hi Jill,
Norn’s dress is from Old Navy – she got it last spring (I know because I went with her and she got that when I got a ginormous maternity dress…you can only imagine my insane jealousy). And I will be sure to tell my mom what you said…she always says that I put the most unflattering photos of her online. I consider it punishment for keeping me away from the boys in highschool 🙂

I love your sister’s dress, too…..but I really, really love your little romper! You may have included it in your wish-list post, but could you tell again where that is from? I need one of those.
Looks like such a great vacay!
