DISCLAIMER: This is a sponsored post brought to you by Bombas. All opinions are 100% my own.
This is not a DIY post. Sorry. But it is a really cool product that was just too good not to tell you about. It’s about socks.
You read that correctly.
Socks.
The cotton thingie that you wear on your feet. More specifically, Bombas socks. They are amazing in of themselves….AND these socks have a heart. For every Bombas sock that is purchased, the Bombas folks donates a pair to someone in need. It’s the same concept as Toms or Warby Parker but for socks. Isn’t that awesome? I mean….did you know that socks are the number one clothing request at homeless shelters? I remember when I was a teenager, my parents would take us to Atlanta and we would give food and clothing to the homeless. One year we gathered up loads of cotton gloves….and they were really thankful for them but they kept asking for socks. It really is so needed. And Bombas has donated over 300,000 socks to those in need since launching. Providing for the homeless is a near and dear topic to my heart….because at one time, my uncle, who suffers from mental illness, ran away from home and was living on the streets. My mom and my grandparents still talk about it because it was so traumatic. When he was found, he come home and was barely recognizable. I know that every member of my family is so grateful to any stranger that helped him. Each meal out there was a gift. Each penny was a treasure. And each article of clothing was invaluable.
So these socks….they are also pretty incredible. They are athletic-leisure socks but re-engineered to look, feel and perform better. After years of research, they improved the basic athletic socks…..testing tension levels to keep those socks staying up….hand linking the toe seam so you don’t feel a thing….even adding a reinforced footbed to add to comfort without the too-thick feeling. There are tons of other benefits but we had to try them out ourselves….and let me tell you, these are my JAM now.
Jeremy loves mountain biking and he said that his pair was similar to the length that he would normally wear out on the trails. Who knew that there was a mountain biking sock?! Afterwards, he came back in and raved about how comfortable they were and next he can’t wait to wear them to his next Crossfit workout.
Will got some too and basically he was smiling ear to ear because he was ‘just like Daddy’. He also liked them because he said they were super slide-y in the house 🙂
Weston stole some of Will’s and would not take them off. Now if you know Weston, you know that the kid isn’t very verbal….but he is very clear on one thing…he doesn’t like socks. It was a total miracle that he even kept these on. I’m telling you….he might as well be walking on water.
I got two pairs and am addicted. I haven’t bought new athletic socks in over ten years….and these are so so nice. I feel totally pampered. And I picked ones that match my pink shoes.
And then I stare at my feet while I attempt to add to my mileage goal for the year. Oh yes….didn’t I tell you, we moved the elliptical upstairs to make more room in the basement. It’s a hallway….no it’s a gym…no it’s almost enough just to have pink socks to get me out here each night!
So if you are in the market for new really nice socks….please consider Bombas. They are offering a discount code of 20% off your first purchase to Bower Power readers. Just use BOWERPOWER20 and it applies to your first order of any size. And for more info…here’s a great video about their donations and impact!

My first thought: Ugh, not Bombas again. First on Shark Tank. Then on Fitnessista. Now here.
Second thought: Well, people do like them, maybe I’ll check them out.
Third thought: $9 a pair? Can’t do it, even with 20% off and the charity aspect. I get a 6-pair-pack of socks at Costco for $9.
That was not whining, just for others’ reading pleasure! Thanks for the review! Enjoy them!

I read only about 4 blogs, and seriously, all four blogs have done posts on these socks and Blue Apron LOL. This is in NO WAY a critique, I love your blog and all the others, and I love and read every blog post. And I don’t really care if a post is sponsored or not, I just like having something new to read while I drink my coffee. I just think it’s funny that these companies seem to target all the blogs I read at the same time. I feel like maybe the universe is telling me that I not only do I need help in the kitchen, but my feet need a little love too LOL. Either that, or I need to join these marketing companies because apparently we have the same taste. Anyway, you don’t actually have to publish this comment, I wouldn’t want it to start some ridiculous debate about sponsored posts. Just thought it was funny.

THIS IS AWESOME!! David is a great friend of ours and it is so cool to see his company grow! I loved seeing them on Shark Tank too! I’m wearing my pink ones right now 🙂 To add to the hype, they last a LONG time. we have about 10 pairs each, for over a year and a half and they are still perfect in every way!

I just saw you on a Home Depot commercial! I may be late in knowing this, but how cool!!

I get that everyone has a different price point….but let me put this in Crossfit perspective (since Jeremy is such a fan of these)…Crossfit socks can be ridiculous. Like 35 dollars ridiculous. Yeah.

No I get it. We understand that people hate ‘commercials’ hence DVR 🙂 But I do try to make sure that they are labeled as sponsored up top so that they are easy for folks to skip.

I have been searching for exercise socks which don’t bunch up around my toes. (I have tried all of the top name brands.) I know these are pricey but if they stay in place I only need a couple of pairs for exercise. I just bought two and donated two!. $14 is a great price for socks that don’t make me miserable and give me blisters:)

I like the look of them and I LOVE that the company donates a pair for every pair bought…all companies should be more generous.
And, thank you for the info about socks being in such high demand compared to other clothes at homeless shelters. It makes sense, most people wear their socks out so there wouldn’t be a lot of 2nd hand socks getting donated.
I would not buy these socks though because of the price point. I’ve played sports all my life and just this morning I did Crossfit; according to my feet, socks are socks. As long as there aren’t holes in them they work for me. Next time I put a bag of my clothes together for donation I’ll be sure to pick up a pack of socks to throw in as well.

Well I just ordered 2 pairs of women’s socks. I have been looking for some nice socks that don’t slide down into my tennis shoe so hopefully they are it!! I like the donation part too! Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks for sharing, just purchased/donated 5 pair! Anxious to try them out as I adore a good sock!

Going in for surgery in two weeks and will definitely be checking these socks out to keep me comfortable around the house. Found some warm “cabin” socks I LOVE at REI but they’re expensive and inconsistent and shed like crazy.

What?! There’s a Home Depot commercial with Katie? How did I miss this?!?!? Must find!
Mary says
No… $35!?! Yowsers. I had no idea Crossfit did anything that would remotely suggest unique socks, but I hear if you put Crossfit on anything, you can charge 3X more! LOL. I’m not balking, I’ve spent that much on a yoga studio and know how it goes.
I bought Thorlos socks based on forum reviews and never liked them. They were so thick! I think they were like $12/pair, maybe? So even more!
I actually like the sponsored posts, within reason, especially if the opinions are real, which they seem to usually be where I read. I love product reviews. I should find blogs just of that but I’d be buying stuff I don’t need daily, I think!
