Sorry guys that I had to skip Sunday Funday this weekend. We had a packed social calendar (dinners with friends, birthday parties, family outings, etc.), we did a lot of stuff to get ready for LJ (don’t worry – there is more stuff on the list) and honestly, sometimes I just like falling asleep next to Jeremy. That sounds really pathetic, huh? Night is the time when I blog…I settle in right after the boys go down (ahem…that’s an overstatement seeing as how Will fights bedtime like we are sentencing him to a lifetime of rabid pets)…and Jer has to go to bed before me so that he has the ability to get out the door for work. I usually have settled into bed by 2am…but this weekend, I closed the computer before midnight, muttered curses to the blog, and decided that going to bed together was more important.
So here I am…Tuesday night…not able to sleep at 2 am. Pregnancy insomnia is real. Also pathetic. My brain is on overload. Tomorrow is a big day. The doctor makes a final decision on my due date….last week they switched it to March 11th. It’s been March 8th, 5th, and 11th. It keeps moving around because they are trying to gauge how long they will let me go (Weston was 13 days late) vs. how huge the baby will be (the bigger the baby, the lower the chances of a VBAC) based on my fundus (is that the right word?). I still have my own predictions. Which leads me to my next point…
we are gonna do the baby pool again. I enjoyed seeing all the guesses last time when we were expecting Weston…so this time I thought it would be fun to do a prize of some of my favorite things….but I am keeping that prize a surprise (just like LJ’s arrival time and date and weight, etc.).

Also, I got my camera back (YAYAYAYAYAY!)…but I refuse to use it (ok ok, I had to take all those awkward selfies in the driveway last week for the HauteLook post but NO MORE) until I get a protective filter for the lenses. I hope that doesn’t take too long for the UPS guy to deliver. Also…if LJ comes ridiculously early, I will be using it filterless…so don’t hold me to anything.
Last bit of news….I am really excited to be able to participate in the fun over at East Coast Creative! They are the creative force behind a friendly blog competition called Creating with the Stars! What vanity sizing? You’re totally a blog star! If I were to be in the competition, you would absolutely be the star I’d want to work with!
Just curious about filters for your camera lenses…was that the cause of your camera’s focus issues? I’m only asking because I’ve noticed my 5d doesn’t seem to be focusing as sharp as it used to. Not sure if it’s my lens or the camera itself…

I’m delivering on 3/13 so that’s my guess for you as well. Just a couple of weeks or less! We can do it!
Well…I dropped my camera. So that didn’t help. And the Mark II is notoriously had issues with the focusing system. It was due for maintenance (it’s recommended that you have your cameras cleaned and maintained once a year) so I sent it in to Canon for that and requested diagnostic 🙂

Hi! I’m a new reader from Hi Sugarplum! Loved your kitchen reno, especially now that I’m house hunting and my husband doesn’t have the “vision” skill needed to imagine ourselves in all the homes with finishes we don’t like!
I too am a photographer/blogger who stays up til 1am (with a regular 9-5 job, a 4 year old and 29 weeks pregnant). I was just thinking last night how amazing it would be to go to bed at 9pm and not feel guilty about all the work I could’ve done if I stayed up late. I just want to sleep when I want like a normal person!
