I have 3 boys (4 year old, and 19 month old twins) and I have to say that watching my oldest become a big brother to his little brothers was amazing, and has gotten better each day since. Brother’s are awesome – the way they play, laugh, hug… nothing like it! What an AMAZING gift you are giving to Will and your entire family! YAY!

  91. Kaaatieeee!!!! (Yes, I’m shrieking!) I have two boys, 22 months apart, they’re 5 & almost 7 now and I can not even begin to tell you how MUCH FUN it is to have two little guys. Two brothers. Brothers are the BEST. The messes they make, the trouble they find, the bond they have and the love they share, they are best friends… it’s incredible, you just wait and see! I am so happy for you guys.

    There’s something special about being the only girl in the house, too. Yeah, sometimes I wish we were surrounded by more (any?) pink, but the dinos, the cars/trucks, Legos, Star Wars, Power Rangers, Transformers… they’re are all really fun too. Plus, nobody messes with my make-up. 🙂 I love saying “C’mon, guys” or “the boys” or “MY boys”… boys just LOOOOVE their momma. Having that little boy love x2 is… there are no words for how amazing it is.

    I will warn you though… in just under 7 years, we’ve have three broken windows. I FEAR their teenage years. 🙂 Congrats on a healthy baby boy!

    I heard of this cute idea to help Will (or any kid) ease into the whole new role…

    Have Will "buy" the new little guy a gift to give at the hospital after the birth (when they meet) … and then new little guy can "give" Will a gift too.

    It'll help with the "new" arrival part, I think (and did amazing things for the new little sister to another 3 year old I know)

  286. Congratulations!! As a mom of two boys (20 months apart – 1 year in October and 3 years in February) I can tell you how wonderful it is! Just this morning on our way to daycare I looked in the rear view mirror to see them holding hands. I will pray that Will transitions as well as my Garrett did.

I was super excited to see such a creative “stop motion”, that’s exactly how I plan on releasing the news to all our friends and family whenever we are blessed with a baby. I can totally relate to the frustration you went through before. The other day we drove by a man who looked like he was about 8 months pregnant, and I started to cry haha. My husband thought I was crazy (probably because I am), but I just thought, how is it fair that HE can be pregnant, and I can’t. SO then I went home, cooked a pound of bacon, and re-read your baby get in my belly post, and made up my own list of things to do before we get an alien life form cookin’ inside me.

  591. What a precious video! Congrats! You will love having 2 boys. Mine are 2 years apart and it is so fun watching them grow and become best buddies. They are now 2 and 4 years old and finally reaching the age where they actually enjoy each other’s company and love playing together. Get ready to hear these phrases a lot: “Mommy, he’s trying to get my toys!” “Mommy get him away from my stuff!” “Mommy, he happens to be glancing in the general direction of my toys and he is in the same room with them, therefore will definitely steal them, so do something!!!” (Ok, I added that last one to represent my oldest son’s thoughts.) It’s lots of fun though!

    Ok, first, Congratulations!! I was secretly hoping you’d have a girl, since I have a daughter so I wanted to see all your fun girly ideas to copy. But your family is such a good boy family and Will and that little guy are lucky to have a big yard and rough and tumble sentiment and more tools and vehicles than can be believed to grow up around. And having my own sister I am super close to and love to pieces and my husband having a brother who we was extremely close to I have to say that there is a special bond and you get from having a close sibling of the same gender. So Will is a lucky little guy! Unfortunately, you are now even more outnumbered. Go buy yourself something pink as a consolation prize.

    Anyway, I’m really commenting because I was hoping you would post something about the making of that video. I would love to make something similar (but not so well thought out) but have no idea what software you’d need or where to start.

  611. Well, I just used Windows Movie Maker and uploaded the 200+ photos and made them pretty speedy (they only showed for less than a second)…so it’s really easy…just lots of pics and planning 🙂

    Oh my Lord, tears and tears coming down….. I can feel the love you have already for this little wee one and to look back at how Will was a year ago …. just brings me back to my daughter timeline too ( and how time just evaporates – she will be 3 this August).
