Alternative post titles included but were not limited to the following:
- Puff the Magic Vest
- A million photos of Will’s first fallish outfit of 2011
- The many pensive looks of my toddler
- Puff Pastry with a regional-part-time-baby-model-filling
- Boweritos: Puff Baby Edition
- Vill dis warring da puffa (for those who are trying on Austrian accents today)
The point is – this post isn’t much more than photos of Will as he donned a puffer vest.
And when I say ‘donned’ I mean rocked it. He made that vest grovel at his feet…right after telling it, I’m gonna make you so cool that you won’t wanna come off my 18-month-shoulders. even if I rock a big ole thunder down under. even then you will be all like I-welcome-that-stanky-dirty-diaper-because-I-look-so-beast-on-you. And you do. you totally do.
Anyhoo…
Sometimes Will starts talking and I have no idea what he is saying but I totally agree with him and nod enthusiastically. Then he laughs. He probably just made me agree to let him drive the Armada.
Oh yeah…and then sometimes I capture this little slice of his personality…
Go ahead and erase “Playdate with Will Bower” off your child’s bucket list because it may or may not endanger their life.
Our neighbor has a little boy who is almost three and he is awesome. He has like 30 vehicle-type-vehicles in his garage and each one would make a Will’s wishlist.
Whenever the boys get them all out, Will gets all nervous and starts being clingy. I have to admit, I kinda like it. And I am also kinda scared – because those boys are FEARLESS. Like a swarm of bees that just got rabies and caffeine.
Will saught refuge on the big rock in their backyard. Basically he was saying Hey Mom, I am creating a photo op for you to thoroughly enjoy me and my puffer vest. To which I replied, oh honey, you shouldn’t have! To which he replied, I know. To which I replied, very funny…now get your creamy skinned little face over there and put on your best Blue Steel.
Do you enjoy reading our little conversations? Because I must admit…they are much less entertaining when typed out.
Kinda like when a toast-giver at a wedding makes a joke and nobody laughs. That may or may not have happened recently to somebody.
Ohh…there it is. Magnum.
Name that movie.
Finally Will got up the courage to venture off the rock and hop in the car that was stuck in the grass. He sat in there and pretend drove for a solid ten minutes. And when I say sat, I literally mean, did not move.
And when we returned the little coupe to the garage, he discovered what he wanted when he turns 2.
I have another post for later…a more productive family post…so don’t start all that this-blog-is-going-downhill-fast commenting. Wait till I’m not looking, then you can say it 🙂
Caroline says
Seriously, could Will BE any cuter??? I don’t think it’s possible. If I had a baby clothing company, I’d be offering millions to have him as my model. Too bad for you that I don’t own said company. 😉
Kristen @ Popcorn on the Stove says
I love these photos – he looks so cute!
Meagan S says
I mean don’t get me wrong…Will was cute before his haircut…but the haircut took the cuteness to a whole new level. What an adorable kid. He is too much.
Barb says
Your blog is definitely not going downhill. Seeing the pics of Will are the high point because he is so handsome! Love that haircut…looks so much older and like a little boy…so clean cut. My how they grow so fast!! You have reason to be proud!
So….continue on with the Will pics…we love them.
Hope to see wedding pics soon.

Will is super adorable! Love the photos!

Oh my goodness he is just so cute! I love the “no-thinks”…the personal for-no-reason-other-than-I-have-a-cute-kid posts. They are a great start to my day – not to mention the fact that they give me photo ideas with my own son (20 months old). Keep ’em coming!

You have an armada? So jealous. I want one like Katie Bower wants bacon.
Also, I now need a puffer vest for my 19 month old.
Missy G. says
Definitely not going downhill.. I love the commentary. “Do you enjoy reading our little conversations? Because I must admit…they are much less entertaining when typed out.” I literally laughed out loud when I read that.

Rachel @ The House of Burks says
He is such a cutie! My Cole has a blue puffer vest that he looooved. It’s too small for him now, but I’m hoping that Cannon will get a few wears out of it in the future. It was so nice to meet you on Friday. We enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to seeing the finished pictures!
P.S. I overheard Cole saying on Friday evening, “where Miss Katie go?” I think he had a little crush on you. 🙂
Sarah says
In the word of Katie Bower, “my uterus aches” just looking at all these baby pictures you have been posting lately… between Will, his friends, your baby photo shoots… too cute!
Barb says
Sorry dont mean to add pressure, we are all just so excited for you.
Jess @ Little House. Big Heart. says
I was waiting for the Magnum! I can’t wait to play dress up with my own kids someday. 🙂
This blog definitely isn’t going downhill! The pictures of Will keep reminding me that yes, I really do want kids and your humor makes me laugh every time I read a post (which is usually at work, where I NEED to laugh). So thanks.
Katreena says
I think too many people compare you to full time home design blogs. Your blog is about life in general and the things you enjoy most, which happen to be your babe, your “boyfriend,” AND home design.
Look on the positive end of the spectrum….when people get ticked that you aren’t writing about design, it’s because they love your style and just want to read more of it. 🙂
I, for one, LOVE your blog just the way it is! Your baby is adorbs, your hubs is hot, and your home is gorg (apparently, I am too lazy to finish spelling words).
You are so talented, Katie! Keep it up! 🙂
Kim S says
Enjoy dressing Will while you can and keep taking and sharing those adorable photos! My son is 17 yrs. old and he may “put on something nicer” for church or visiting a college, otherwise it’s black basketball shorts and a t-shirt for him. I’m looking forward to Dec. when he might start wearing jeans, but we live in Connecticut and for some reason teenage boys like to freeze in shorts until the first snowfall.
Oh well, I’ve just look at cute photos of Will and remember the outfits my son used to wear.
Ashleigh says
I think he looks just like you in the fourth picture down. His little facial expressions are SO cute.
Lisa P. says
Adorbs! Loving his expressions. You’ll cherish those pictures for years to come!
Katie @ explanationrequired says
Puff jackets/vests on kids are so stinkin adorable! Will is quite the good-looking model too.
I for one love the Will-centered posts. My blog posts are almost always about my little girl, so I like to think that people love to read about bloggers’ kids just as much as we enjoy posting about our kids.
Hallie says
I DO enjoy readying your conversations with Will!! Keep it up!
Paulina J! says
I love how he looks with his haircut! It seems that he is growing overnight.
Brandi @ His Shabby Her Chic says
Will is just too stinkin cute!! I love the evil look in his eyeson the throwing stuff picture!
Your blog is most definitely not going downhill!
Deena says
Will is so 50/50 of both you and Jeremy. Love his haircut, and the ‘look at my freakin’ adorable kid’ posts are one of the reasons I come back day after day. That and the fact that you are so hilarious! Keep it up.
erika m says
might not want to wait that long…but hey maybe it will be like RIGHT before John and Sherry’s 2 years are up for another one.
Melissa Evans says
That puffer jacket is THE BEST…he’s the cutest kid EVER!!!! Your commentary cracks-me-up…it’s awesome. Serious.
the build up to your Sister’s wedding was great: we need to see more! : )
Jennifer S says
Adorable!!
Rachel says
Omg! He’s too cute! He looks like a tiny little man:) I agree with you…he looks more like Jeremy with that haircut!
Tricia says
He’s so grown up with that hair cut! And the answer is…Zoolander!!!!!!!!
Courtney says
I’m loving the black and white picture of Will and his smirk that basically says, “Why yes, I am kind of a big deal. People know me.” He totally knows he looks so cool in his puffer vest. I think my 7 month old needs one, pronto.
Emma says
These posts are my favourite type of post. Well, I do love your other type of posts too. But these are the types of posts that make me happy. I’m in Australia and check your blog in the mornings on my phone before I get up and start the day. The days that begin with one of your posts with beautiful photos and heartfelt words gives a lovely start to the day. If you haven’t posted that day, I just cross my fingers that Sherry and John have posted something on their “Life” page.
Hope that doesn’t sound too creepy/stalkerish but I wanted to let you know that your blog makes me happy! I work as a divorce lawyer, so posts about happy families help me keep my job in perspective.

Anne says
I’d say your blog is for sure going downhill. 😛
It’s gaining momentum, accelerating towards exciting things, it’s getting easier (right?!), and the downhill is the the fun part. Who wants to sled, or run, or ride a roller coaster uphill anyway. 😀
Keep it up!
Katie says
haha…don’t mind me…I’m just cranky because I am an instant gratification type of girl. I expect to be preggars the first time outta the gate…I can’t imagine what those people feel when they try for five years and nothing happens. It’s all about perspective, huh?

Katie says
I hate to admit it but we actually have three puffer vests for Will. I know. We are coco for puffs 🙂 And that one is Old Navy I believe and the other ones were Children’s Place.

Katie says
haha! Love it. He’s such a cutie…can’t wait to see those finalized edited images too! They will be fun for sure – that Cannon was too cute to not be photographed well 🙂

That jacket is soo adorable on him! Too bad he and Clara are meant to be bc I have a 18 month old niece and they would be adorable 🙂 and Zoolander is only one of the greatest movies ever, it’s definitely a family classic at my house, it gets quoted at every family get together

Rachel @ Common to Moms says
I recently saw some at Target (I’m in VA) if that helps too!
Tamsyn says
Omg he just keeps getting cuter and cuter. My son Max has that little yellow and red tike car and a little plastic motorbike that he absolutely loves. I am so scared for the day that he wants one that has a motor!
Reenie says
So cute….love his hair cut 🙂
Lisa says
Will is adorable. I love/hate the change a haircut makes. He looks so stinkin cute but he looks like such a big boy now. The same happens every time we cut my little guy’s hair. He looks so cute but I get sad because it makes it so obvious he is not a baby anymore.
Katie says
Your little neice can definitely be a girlfriend after Clara dumps him for a much younger man 🙂

Aww thanks and too bad you don’t read over there – she is so freaking inspirational and I personally think her holiday type posts are amazing. It’s generally my favorite time of year!
