I never turn down a free lunch.  Never.  I like to eat too much.  I’m a real good eater.  So I’ve heard. 

So when the fine folks at FRESCHETTA® Simply…Inspired™ offered up a freebie pizza, you couldn’t quiet the loud growling “yes” in my stomach enough to hear me shout “Mama Mia Pizzeria – GET IN MY BELLY!”  Yup…I even had the Fat Bastar…um…heavy Italian accent. 

After we scored the freebie food at Kroger, I popped it in the oven straight on the rack.

And twelve minutes later, I didn’t even have to call Jeremy from his office – the smells wafted in and wooed him to the kitchen all by themselves.

Now let me tell ya, I am generally not a thin-crust kinda girl.  To be honest, I’m not a thin-anything kinda girl.  I like my food like I like my men – with some meat on them and something to squeeze.  I think you knew that already.  But this crust?  Oh yum.  And the toppings were so fresh that they made the Prince of BelAir seem blaise. 

As if that weren’t enough, they also sent this cutting board and tools perfect for antipasti. 

Our personal verdict?  We will be purchasing more Freschetta pizzas.  Plain and simple.  At our local Kroger, the pie was only $5 on sale.  I can go to the Freschetta facebook page and download a $2 off coupon…making lunch for all three of us only $3.  That’s darn good considering that I am getting veggies into the bellies of my boys.

I know, it’s weird, but ever since we discovered Lighthouse’s Chunky Blue Cheese dressing and dip, we married it to our home made pizzas = love.   38. I like my freshie fresh pizza with peperoni and cheese. Pretty simple. Although, I think I find it hard to turn down any type of pizza! If I’m in the mood for a fancy pizza, anything with artichokes can’t be wrong.

  40. FRESHIE FRESH! I love stuffed crust pizza but I think I prefer a slightly thinner & crispy crust. Light on the sauce and heavy on the cheese! My all time favorite it is white pizza with lots of ricotta & mozz, chicken, spinach and broccoli. Mmmmm!

    Favorite combo lately? homemade whole grain crust, fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, black olives, roasted red peppers, and fresh basil. As my Nany would say, delish.

    I lived in NY for a few years and have to say that the chicken parmesan pizza I used to get there was the best ever!

    I like thin, I like thick, I like hand tossed…. I`m just NOT the picky type! And like you… I`m a real good eater! 🙂 But…. my top of the top choice would be medium thick crust that is just slightly golden on the edges, loaded with a lots a sweet spicy sauce, a semi-THIN dusting of mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni and bacon for the finale!! Yum-ola!!!

    If it’s frozen pizza, I definitely tend to get the thin crust type. But, lately hubby and I have been hooked on Domino’s crust with cheese and banana peppers. Yum!

    I love pizza so many ways, but I do love me some goat cheese….spinach, goat cheese, and sun dried tomatoes with a little sprinkled bacon crumbles around….that sounds good right about now!

    Hubby’s favorite is pineapple, green peppers, and I usually add onions too….fresh and light tasting…though he hates thin crust to keep with the theme!

    I love my mom’s homemade – with imported Italian flour, a medium crust, and blocks of cheese on top instead of shredded so it’s nice, thick, and gooey. YUM!!!!

    I love thin crust pizza with spinich, tomato, and fresh mozzarella cheese. I prefer to make my own pizza, but most times it is easier to just pop a frozen one in the oven. We have pizza night at least once a week.

    When I see Freschetta commercials, I think that no frozen pizza has ever been so “Freshie Fresh” and so-clean-clean (a la Outkast) as these. I love the decadent cheese/veggie combos and salivate every time they appear on my TV.

    Also freshie-fresh? Your house transformation…it’s looking awesome. For realz.

    OK. I am now hungry and would like a Pizza Hut Pan Supreme Pizza! dinner plans… 🙂

My husband is gluten intolerant which means we don’t get pizza nearly as much as I’d like… We used to have pizza Fridays and make dough from scratch with different toppings each week. I like mine with LOTS of veggies – mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, onions, broccoli, etc – and alfredo sauce with tons of cheese. Yum!
